Haley Reinhart Talks New Projects and Helping Others – Since coming in third place on Season 10 of American Idol, Haley released a critically acclaimed debut album Listen Up! that reached No. 19 on the Billboard Charts and now has two tour dates lined up with Allen Stone. But Haley was at VH1′s Do Something Awards because she’s just as passionate about charity. She spoke with Hollywire’s own Chelsea Briggs about the foundations she’s involved with and why she’s always been about helping others.

Hollywire

Master of His Own Domain – As far as joining the competition, Abrams admits, “There was some cattiness and I did not trust a lot of people during the show, but all of that cleared up as soon as we all went on tour. I still hang out with all the contestants all the time—Haley [Reinhart], Jacob [Lusk], all of them. Stefano [Langone] and I are two completely different personalities, but it is actually really fun to hang out with him.” – Read more at ieweekly.com

J.Lo’s Advice For Britney and Mariah – “I always kind of just spoke right from the heart, and how I would want someone to speak to me if I was in that position,” imparts Lopez, who announced her exit from the show after two seasons in mid-July. “It’s just about being relaxed and being honest, and being yourself… If you try and think too much about what people might think or what you’re saying too much, I think you get lost.” When asked how Carey specifically would likely fare in the hot seat, Lopez relayed her complete confidence in the five-time Grammy winner. “So long as she’s honest and speaks from the heart and just is herself, I think she’ll be fine.” – See the Video at ET

    Phillips ‘Take Me Away’
“Holding on to what isn’t there, trying to find my place,
Can anyone see what’s really me, behind a smile, behind this face,
Broken, struggling, in the dark, Oh just to stay onboard,
But the only thing saving me is your love, loving you is saving me,
Won’t you take me from the clouds buried in grey,
All the colors are mixing in my head, I can’t see which way,
Only see you out of thousands coming my way,
You’re all I want to see, all I want to touch and feel in every way”…..

“Take Me Away”  I like it.  Very much.  I suspect it will never be done the same twice.

That’s a good article. The whole marketing plan of The Voice is blown up, but I think that most people realize that people need more than a good voice in order to be successful. That was evident on the first season of The Voice, when they gave their contestants makeovers before the first episode even aired, or when they made casting choices on who would hold people’s attention, and not who was the best singer. The Voice’s promotional ads knocked American Idol for things that were also happening on that show.

I think there’s a lesson here for idol alums, many of them have great voices, but nobody is going to pay to see them strumming a guitar and singing well. They have to offer more than that if they want to establish a brand, and sell music and concert tickets.
