Melinda Doolittle, JOHNNYSWIM and More Cast in Studio Tenn’s Smokey Joe’s Cafe – “American Idol” finalist Melinda Doolittle will head the cast of Studio Tenn Theatre Company’s upcoming production of Smokey Joe’s Cafe, which begins Sept. 20 at the historic Franklin Theatre in Nashville. Doolittle will be joined on stage by husband and wife pop duo Abner and Amanda Ramirez (daughter of the late Donna Summer), known together as JOHNNYSWIM, as well as Libby Hodges, Ryan Greenawalt, Laura Matula, Harvey Hubert and John-Mark McGaha. “I could not be more excited to be a part of Studio Tenn’s Smokey Joe’s Cafe with such an amazing cast from all over the country,” said Doolittle in a statement. “Studio Tenn is best known in this region for putting on flawless and exciting professional theater, and this show in particular has the musical and historical significance to further that trend.” – Read more at Playbill
