Now let’s see you do Marilyn! Katharine McPhee dons a blonde wig on the set of TV musical Smash – They say that blondes have the most fun. And Katharine McPhee certainly seemed to be having a ball as she played with a fair-haired wig on the set of Smash in New York City on Friday. The American Idol star could not stop laughing as she messed around with the hairpiece during a break in filming. – See the photos at Daily Mail

Smashing! Jennifer Hudson embodies her TV role as a Broadway star in stunning figure-hugging dress – She has lost 80lbs since last year so it’s no wonder Jennifer Hudson was keen to show off her toned curves in a figure-hugging black lace dress today. The Academy Award-winning actress was on the set of NBC show Smash in New York City, filming scenes with co-star Jack Davenport. Jennifer was spotted getting out of a limousine in a pair of black peep-toe pumps, a diamond tennis bracelet and a slash of eye-catching fuschia lipstick. – See the photos at Daily Mail

‘Sparkle’: Jordin Sparks, Mike Epps on the Accuracy of Music Industry in Film (Video) – Hollywood has long been criticized for storytelling that is oftentimes unrealistic or overly glamorized. And it’s portrayal of, well, Hollywood is no different. Asked whether the music industry has been portrayed accurately in films, Epps responds: “Some stories are really, really on point and some stories are fabricated. This story particularly was on point.” “That’s how the music business was back then,” he continues. “Talent wanted to get on and you could kind of guerilla style get on back in the day, like the girls did.” – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter

Nicole Scherzinger: ‘I would have saved Rachel Crow on X Factor USA’ – Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she would have chosen to save X Factor USA contestant Rachel Crow in hindsight. The Pussycat Dolls singer reflected on her decision to send the elimination decision to deadlock during The X Factor USA’s quarter-final, a move which eliminated the teenager and sparked controversy at the time. “I would have voted for Rachel Crow when it was down to the wire instead of leaving it up to America’s vote,” Scherzinger said in a Q&A ahead of The X Factor’s return to British screens this weekend. – Read more at Digital Spy

If they would only just listen to what WE want all would be well with the world – ROFL! Oh well, it will be interesting.

A Big Two Thumbs Up for your post! James doesn’t get as much recognition as some, but his fans can certainly be pleased with how far he’s come since his audition a couple of years ago. He has so much going on for him and I couldn’t be happier for him, and his beautiful family. What a blessing Idol has been to  give him that jumpstart in his career. It keeps getting better, and deservedly so!

How do you know “they” aren’t listening to what WE want? *wink -Hi James*
(I think by now after the successful campaign to get HTH performed on Idol instead of the, at the time, current single LMB, James knows what the majority of his fans want.)

Haley has a different 19 mgr now according to her RLM page. It is now
Chiara Kramer.  I don’t know what happened to Lane perhaps she is taking on only the new idols.

“(I think by now after the successful campaign to get HTH performed on
Idol instead of the, at the time, current single LMB, James knows what
the majority of his fans want.)”

Maybe the “majority of his internet fans” and hopefully, that is representative of his entire CD-buying fanbase (and those non-Idol fans he may acquire). It’s a little tricky for singers to rely on their internet fans as a guide to what their total fanbase likes and wants, and sometimes, there appears to be a disconnect between those two groups. For example, there was pretty much universal praise and enthusiasm for Adam’s new CD from his internet fans, but then the sales of the CD suggested that either the musical preferences of his internet fans are not representative of the bulk of his fanbase, or they are representative of his entire fanbase, but that fanbase has shrunk significantly since his first album was released (both reasons could be contributing).

There may well be a difference of opinion in his fan base, but after the tremendous response in sales of MOABD going up almost 600% after that performance on Idol, others than just internet fans must have liked what they heard too. I hope so.

As for Adam, I don’t know if it is musical preference that is responsible for his lower than expected sales. Wasn’t his first album also a pop album? I think it is more that his fan base probably shrank a lot in the last few years just like all the other Idols, unfortunately.
Proving once again how important it is to try and make as many new fans with the first album as possible. James sales increased a lot during his 4 months of touring, so hopefully he managed to pick up some new fans there. We’ll see.
I have high hopes for album #2. And I wish all the other Idols luck with their albums. It’s getting tougher and tougher for these kids to make a living after their time on the show.

AI sure isn’t the powerhouse it once was.
