Kellie Pickler talks making ’100 Proof’, splitting with her label – So was it at all frustrating for you to make this rootsy, strong, self-reflective album and then to split ties with Sony? Well, it wasn’t promoted. When my album came out, I didn’t even have a song out on the radio. Nobody does that. [The label was] spread thin. When I was making my record, the CEO left. He retired. They brought in Gary [Overton]. My A&R left. They brought in somebody else. I went through four heads of promotion when my record was coming out. The only consistency was inconsistency. Did that make recording tough? Recording this album, to be honest — and I don’t mind saying this — the process was hell. We couldn’t agree on songs. The thing is, my life is a country song. I don’t need to be manufactured, and I don’t need anyone to tell me what to say or what to sing. – Read more at Entertainment Weekly

Scotty McCreery relishes life after ‘Idol’ – It’s been about two months since Phillip Phillips was named the winner of the 2012 season of “American Idol.” So how does that make Scotty McCreery, the 2011 “Idol” feel? Pretty good, actually. “I’m not the American Idol,” he says with a chuckle. “I’m an American Idol, and that’s fine.” “I’d be told that once a new Idol was named, the previous Idol supposedly has to fight a bit more for attention,” continues McCreery. “I don’t see it. I feel like I’m still on the ride.” – Read more at The Daily Record

David Cook On First Manila Visit: ‘I Almost Got Force-Fed Balut’ – “Ah, I almost got force-fed balut, which was fun,” he tells Bulletin Entertainment with a smile during the pocket interview after the presscon for the “David Cook Live In Manila” concert this weekend. “I couldn’t do it, though,” he admits. Three years since that first trip—and hopefully with newfound nerves of steel to face off with the Philippine delicacy we love to foist on our foreign visitors—David still talks about the Manila show he’s done with David Archuleta in May 2009 with such warmth. – Read more at MB.com

They shot a video for Home yesterday? Nice! Not that I’m expecting anything particularly creative after watching Scotty’s ”I Love You This Big” video, but that didn’t prevent Scotty from selling boat loads of his song. Good thing P2′s drop dead gorgeous. :p

Good for Scotty – WTT # on 2 countdowns

Yay for Phil! I’m glad they shot a video for Home and it’s good to see him on a countdown show. It’s fun watching Phil hit these milestones no matter how small or trivial to some. Very good things.

Thanks for posting this article!  How insightful….it shows how openly gay has had an effect on his career and his opportunities.  Adam is so articulate which the interviewer acknowledges.  For me he represents incredible talent, is sensitive, respectful and humble.  ( I love how he said that trying to be like Freddie Mercury would be disrespectful to his memory…that is one insightful man! )

  • alterego

For me he represents incredible talent, is sensitive, respectful and humble.

For someone who is sensitive, respectful, and humble, Adam Lambert has sure talked his share of smack of people like Justin Bieber, James Durbin, Susan Boyle, Clay Aiken.  And I am not sure how calling fans smelly “respectful”.

Kris is playing a show on Long Island this afternoon (6 p.m. ET, if you’re in the area & want to go).

Who’s coming to the show in Deer Park today?http://m.tangeroutlet.com/deerpark/events

And warns everyone to avoid this dude…lol

If you see this guy today don’t talk to him. He’s really creepy.http://instagr.am/p/NERC19Sy0_/

What did he say about Bieber? I’ve only heard him say nice things about him. In an interview Adam said Justin was a talented young man and he really like his new single. Adam Is always complementing other artist and promoting their music.

  • Pixie Baker

Gosh, I know I have not read every article on Adam but after reading my share I have never *heard* this from him.  He usually is pretty tempered with his comments….unless he’s been drinking..LOL!

Adam did tweet about Beiber at the Grammys and said that Beiber/Usher dancing was good. Vocals not so good. But that’s the norm for any Beiber/Usher performance, actual singing is not priority.

  • Tess

LOL….4 people that Adam has dissed and 1 off the cuff reply to a silly interview question over 4 years….man oh man, Adam is one disrespectful dude.  I can be that un-politically correct over the course of an hour.  Besides it isn’t like all the people mentioned haven’t been raked over the coals by lots of people outside of Lambert and I am sure that the majority of Them haven’t always said the nicest things about others.

By all accounts, another great show last night in KC from James & crew. It was the last show opening for Buckcherry. Next up are a series of shows opening for Drowning Pool.
And I always love these kind of tweets…

    Tiffany Waddell ?@Tiffany_Waddell
@Radio_JamesD Oh & my two friends who were with me, who had no idea who he was, said he was better than the headliner Buckcherry. And he was.

Yes, I do remember that tweet and the performance.

Clay Aiken brought that upon himself TWICE. Originally by posting demeaning comments about Adam’s singing hurting his ears or some such nonsense during the season – on his blog. From what I recall he even removed his post.

The last time was when he was comparing himself to Martin Luther King Jr while contrasting Adam to Malcolm X. Susan Boyle and the other reality show contestants are his peers and if he chooses to not like Susan’s rendition of Wild Horses so be it. I don’t even know what he said about Beiber but I’m pretty sure it’s nothing that hasn’t been said 1000 times more forcefully.

Regarding Durbin,  I’m pretty sure you couldn’t give an OPINION any more respectfully than this:

    QUOTE:

“I think he’s got talent and passion 100 percent,” Lambert told the Hollywood Reporter about Durbin, “but I feel like he’s trying way too hard. Also, his niche is so limited with the metal. When he did that ‘Heavy Metal’ [Sammy Hagar] song, James was note-perfect. He was on pitch, which is usually kind of an issue, and I think he sounded really good, but it felt like a copycat. I didn’t feel like I was seeing an original artist yet. And I’m not saying he doesn’t have that in him, but it hasn’t been showing.”

Sounds exactly like the type of comment an American Idol judge SHOULD be making.

This is the partial quote about smelly when ASKED about overzealous fans:

“You know, if it weren’t for these fans, I wouldn’t have gotten as far as I did. Um, sometimes…they’re a little sweaty. A little smelly, um…a little too touchy feely.”

Considering hundreds of fans throw themselves up against him bodily in sweaty condition and even LICK HIS NECK, sounds pretty accurate and LMAO to me.
