Sorry to say, but he's a bit off (That's a gentle description. If Simon were to give the critique, a bit trainwreck might be his words). I think he's not very stable in the lower registers. With all the tight schedules, he couldn't be singing with his top voice. And he looked really anxious. Hopefully, he will get better later. I saw David’s Anthem performance on youtube. I definitely think he was being complimentary – I was just commenting on different perceptions – we saw nervous – he saw ROCKSTAR. I love what he saw – and think we need to remember that we may overthink things – but here is an outsiders opinion.
