That wasn't at all true for me, or for anyone else I know who was - and is - a fan. A lot of us really hoped that Taylor's exposure would bring some change away from the hip-hop driven radio, into a real musical sensibility, introducing blues, soul, and R & B back into the mainstream. Like I said, maybe too idealistic, especially since Taylor's style was NOT what the Idol machine wanted. But mainly I wanted to point out that it wasn't his personality that was driving the voting. He seemed happy and willing to have his picture taken and not to be hating every minute of it.
