Little Big Town Applauds Keith Urban for Breaking Stereotypes on “American Idol” – Little Big Town will hit the road with their pal Keith Urban in July, and they’re keeping up with his gig as a judge on American Idol this season too. Even though country artists regularly top the overall album sales charts and sell out stadiums, a lot of people out there still have ill-informed preconceptions about the genre. Little Big Town’s Jimi Westbrook thinks Keith is doing a great job shattering those negative perceptions with his Idol gig. – Read more at ABC News Radio

Thanks, really looking forward to this…

I thought ex Idols only came on to perform if they had something to promote i.e new single, so if Casey is on with no new music out, then he should consider himself very lucky…he gets the exposure whatever he’s singing.

  • justmefornow

It looks like he may be friends with James and Heidi.

  • justmefornow

I no longer have any interest in the Idol cast this year, but I’ll tune in to the result shows occasionally to see the guests.
Definitely be watching tonight for Casey and his bassey :)

  • irockhard

He has music out. His album may have been released last June but most peeps watching tonight don’t know that. But I guess now they never will.

  • irockhard

Yeah but still curious why he wants us to follow him.

  • justmefornow

I am too, but from his profile, he’s not a Rock producer at all.
Just a thought, maybe he’s producing the song for WWE Music?

  • irockhard

That possibility did cross my mind but I’m pretty sure that song was recorded in New York. I dunno maybe he’s just a friend and James supports his work and is trying to get him some exposure?

Did you guys read that Rivers Cuomo is releasing a Japanese version of “Pick you up”? Incredible song and Adam never ever sang it live. And now, chances are an absolute zero.

  • Axxxel

Isn’t Rivers one of the writers of that song? This reminds me of that 89 years old fan who made a happy birthday video for Adam… Pick you up was also her favorite song.

  • gferna

Yes, he is one of the writers. I read that adam think this is a very demanding song to perform. I’m curious, Rivers is singing but not like Adam does (according to the post I read).

  • Happyhexer

I like both Caseys, so I’m not gonna diss CaseyA. But yeah, CaseyJ is doing pretty good on the country charts as a newbie artist, and IMHO, it would have been natural to have him back on Idol to perform. What did COAS top out at anyway? And when does his new single impact radio?

I’m of two minds about CaseyJ performing on Idol. On the one hand, it might sell some songs or CDs, and he badly needs the latter. (I know he does well touring, but it is my understanding that that is not how a label makes its money.) On the other hand, I’ve had the impression that CaseyJ would like to distance himself from Idol so that he is perceived in the country world as “coming up the ranks.” So ? ? ?
