Scotty, Lauren, Dierks, Luke Bryan, Many Others Debut Unreleased Tunes In Nashville Showcase – With Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, much was made of the idea that their forthcoming sophomore efforts were being made in Music City at leisure, away from the pressure of the post-Idol rush. McCreery was introduced as “finishing his first true Nashville album,” and he said he was determined to “make sure I can write a little bit.” Saying he wanted to “show you what my penmanship is like a little,” he sang the up-tempo “Girl I Gotta See You Tonight,” playing a frustrated beau who gets tired of phone calls and texting and has to rush over to see his gal in the flesh. “Listen for me pulling in the drive,” he sang, sounding just a little bit more sensually fixated than he ever did on his debut. Magnus raises funds for positive change by channeling Patti Page – Main Street Hyannis got a singing treat this Thursday as American Idol finalist Siobhan Magnus celebrated Patti Page Day and kicked off an anti-bullying fundraising effort with the release of her retro vinyl 45 at Rendezvous Cafe and Puritan Clothing. Yes, a record. The disc –and yes, it is black, round, and played on a turntable –offers Magnus’s rendition of the Cape Cod classic Old Cape Cod on one side and her own anti-bullying rock piece, Pure Inspiration, on the other. Peyton Manning’s touchdown on Bagram – The musical portion of the tour comprised of Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo, of American Idol fame. The couple, incidentally who are engaged to one another, met on Idol’s season 11 and have been touring with USO for the past two years. “To be able to come here and perform for the troops is first and foremost an honor, said DeGarmo.
