Noriega & Chikezee ( sp. ??) & faux Leif Garrett , all bad performances. Noriega gets on my wires big time.
I feel bad for the guys with beautiful voices who picked such slow songs last night. I fear they won't pull in enough votes and Danny boy will slip through .

They are sure promoting Jordan. If she doesnt sell units it's not that TPTB hsven't tried. I think they need for her to be a big seller really bad to keep their credibility. I really want an Idol in their twenties this year as I'm tired of young and cute, I really think Michael and Carly are very good and deserve to be where they are as far as talent is concerned. I think they have both worked very hard and have had lots of disappointments. Carly's record company seems to have rejected her original album and then held off releasing the one they liked till she was older. We all know what record executive can do or not do, they own you. Michael had a contract but never put out a CD for them. I'm sure they've both had bad experiences. I haven't picked a real favorite yet, but liked Remiele, Asia'h and Carly tonight. No love at first note this year.

"Robbie is such a walking cliche. But, he had one of the better performances of the night, so something is working for him."

I thought so, too. But I really liked his performance last night, which surprised me, cause I wasn't impressed by his auditions, plus I was prepared to dislike him due to the plant rumors and his boy-band past. It does seem like he is trying a little too hard to fit into the rock mold. He should lose the bandana, and just be himself.

I saw Three Dog Night sing One live and it takes a soaring, beautiful voice to make that song interesting...otherwise you get, well, Robbie Carrico -- the pop-rawker.

Danny Noriega may have Sanjaya tendencies, but he has a beautiful voice. Wish he would have sung One.

Jason Castro was perfect -- vocal cracks and all. I wonder where else his voice will go though because there aren't too many John Sebastian songs left. Of course, if they would have shown us him in Hollywood, we might be able to answer that question.

David Hernandez -- given the memorialized Hall/Cardenas spot. Uh Oh!

Michael Johns does not realize he is TCO, otherwise he never would have brought up "Doors in Hollywood"

I thought it was a fun night, but this appears to be the "Year of Negative Press" -- which Nigel Lythgoe will gleefully smile over because it's O.K. as long as they keep talking about ya.

Thank you very much, Chris Daughtry!

Yes, because that's an original look and style Chris invented. I think there is a "Rockstars for Dummies" book they hand out at the auditions. That wallet chain killed me last night. Robbie is such a walking cliche. But, he had one of the better performances of the night, so something is working for him.

Did anyone catch Robbie singing Hemorrhage in Hollywood rounds? It was shown in Robbie's intro last night. That and the wallet chain made me laugh. Imitation is indeed the most sincere form of flattery. Thank you very much, Chris Daughtry!

Last night was certainly a surprise. I anticipated more, so I guess I have to take my daughter's suggestion and not anticipate in the future! Jason Castro was the highlight for me, and even though I didn't get excited about his performance, I really got a giggle out of Danny Noriega.
Luke Menard....well, I think that he just couldn't make the transition from a cappella to band accompaniment. Too bad; I have heard him sing on Youtube and I thought that he had a lot of potential.
On to tonight!

Also, same with Amanda. I absolutely love her raspy voice and that type of music, but she hits notes or off somewhere that doesn't register well. Listen to Janis Joplin for instance, she's rough but doesn't hit unpleasant notes.

Also don't get the praise of Michael Johns as well as Robbie. Michael Johns sings well (at times) but "Listen" to his vocals...hits BAD notes.

Well, my picks for the pool are not going to change for the guys after watching last night. Fairly certain we'll be saying goodbye to Garrett and Colton. Chikezie is down there as well, but he's different enough that he may have gotten enough votes to be safe. We shall see.

On to the girls. Yawn.

Just find it funny that the writer picked on Taylor for tucking in his shorts, when there were other players who did the same thing and it states in the NBA rules that shirts have to be tucked during play. Hey, least he's talking about him ..... LoL!

Man, what a snoozefest that was last night. The one I was holding out hope for (Luke) bombed spectacularly, and the one I kind of like as of last night (Jason Yeager) is on probation as far as I'm concerned -- his "Moon River" was somniferous, but I heard the stirrings of a quite excellent voice.

Did NOT get the praise lavished upon Robbie Carrico and Michael Johns, both of whom did passable but certainly not spectacular jobs.
