Mariah Carey to Release New Song on Tuesday – Featured in the forthcoming Disney feature Oz: The Great and Powerful, starring James Franco and Mila Kunis, directed by Sam Raimi and scheduled for a theatrical release on March 8, the pure pop track was co-written by Carey with Simone Porter, Justin Gray, Lindsey Ray and co-produced by Stargate (Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen). It goes to radio on Tuesday, Feb. 19 and will be available on iTunes the same day. An accompanying video, directed by Carey’s frequent collaborator David LaChapelle, will premiere in the coming weeks. – Read more at Billboard.com

Third time is the charm for ‘American Idol’ contestant – After stalling on “American Idol” twice in the Hollywood rounds, Janelle Arthur sized up her options before auditioning a third time. “I questioned whether I should (audition) this year. I almost didn’t … but I have something to prove to myself. You should always keep on trying and not give up,” said the fresh-faced 22-year-old in a thick drawl. This week, Arthur finally broke the barrier and made the cut beyond the Hollywood round — the top 40 singers. IDYLLWILD: Feb. 16 Seahawk Mojo, Casey Abrams video – Here is a video of Marshall Hawkins’ Seahawk Mojo Black History Month concert at Idyllwild Arts Academy Saturday, Feb. 16. The video from Idyllwild Arts Channel 1 includes a couple of numbers by Casey Abrams, the American Idol star who calls Hawkins his mentor. The 73-year-old Hawkins is a bassist who played with jazz luminaries like Miles Davis and Shirley Horn. He is a jazz music instricor at Idyllwild Arts, the first-rate boarding high school where he taught Abrams. – Read more at pe.com

Si do: Simon Cowell ties the knot alongside Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon in Comic Relief sketch – After all these years Simon Cowell has finally got married… but nobody knows who to. Friends including presenter Amanda Holden, ­Louis Walsh, Alesha Dixon and Aston ­Merrygold of JLS joined the music mogul at the church.Some sources reckon comic David ­Walliams was there as well. But which one went down the aisle with Simon won’t be revealed until Red Nose Day next month.
