Idol Headlines for 2/07/09

Does anyone know if Donny and Marie are part owners of Entertainment Tonight or something? It seems they are always on it. They might as well call the show “Donny and Marie Tonight.” LOL! It’s annoying how they are always plugging their Vegas show on it, like every other night, and now their plugging their nephew, of course.

I’m so happy David Osmond didn’t make it to the Top 36 right now. We’re hearing too much about him as it is, I can’t even imagine what we’d be in for if he got to the finals. Yeeesh!

I’m waiting for the 15 minutes (or is it seconds in this case?) to run out.

THERE’S SOME FUNNY stuff on the faux talent show that takes shots at the real “American Idol.” Like the endless attempts to stretch out the suspense by the host before announcing who the winner is.

Like telling viewers the winner is — going to announced right after these messages.

“Another commercial!” Sam exclaims in frustration.

Jennifer is the inspiration for all Idols who get the boot early….and get a lucky break. She’s the American Idol that personifies American Idol. She has certainly evolved into a (near) super star.

I love the Osmonds. I always love watching them on Entertaintment Tonight. Danny is so funny.

My memory is a little fuzzy on the Kelly/Daughtry duet stuff…but if I’m remembering correctly, didn’t Kara mention something about a Daughtry duet song she wrote that didn’t work out? So I guess Nick Lachey snatched it up, then? Or is it all just some kind of crazy coincidence…

Yeah, I think it’s actually a way too elaborate and oftentimes unfunny brand of sarcasm pointed at Archie, not Cook. I know the Archie fans adore the Vulture, though, and many Cook fans take their jabs seriously, so I think it all sort of misses the point. Or not, maybe they mean exactly what they write and they were completely serious when they posted this.
It’s possible.

Nick Lachey and Kara working together huh. That should be a good song. I adore Nick and think Jessica Simpson was a fool to let him get away. But he’s probably better off now. He’s so talented and so down-to-earth. I hope he has much success in both his career and personal life.

Re: the Vulture’s usually unsuccessful attempts at satire and snarkitude about the world of pop culture in general:

Thank you, I’m so tired of hearing about David Osmond. Just because he’s an Osmond he’s getting this attention. Those other more taented singers who got cut, they aren’t getting any attention at all. Does anyone actually care that much that he got eliminated, life will go on it’s just a show and I doubt he would’ve brought anything new to the show just some crazed Osmond fanatics.

I saw “Wicked’ on broadway the first year it was out and have tickets for the touring show in April. Does anyone have any idea whether Adam was on Broadway or where he was?

He was in the LA cast – he was Fiyero’s understudy and had roles in the ensemble as well.

How long was he in LA? My son saw wicked in LA for his honeymoon July of 2007.

Hey guys,

It’s David again. I just wanted to remind you about the things that are coming up pretty soon! CRUSH NIGHT on NICKELODEON airs TONIGHT! Right now! And they’ll be showing the iCarly episode I make a guest appearance in. Then on Sunday I’ll be singing the national anthem at the Pro Bowl all the way in Hawaii! haha. Haha, yeah, he did awesome with ALTNOY today. It nearly sounded like the recording, except he changed it up some. But he totally nailed the bridge. Really excellent. I think people were impressed. I was up higher (hence the reason it was so far away), but it turns out that the sound was much better up there. Down below the sound sort of echoed. Both the AFC and NFC players had already left the field, so everybody was basically just staying to see him perform. As I left I heard people singing the song. Just Jared Jr. has the professional shots from the field.

I’m glad David Osmond is off the show for his own sake as MS is a disease that can really effect your life without much notice. The fact that he has been in a wheel chair and now seems normal tells a lot about this ailment. Losing his voice may have been caused by his MS and I think TPTB know these things. Now about Adam I’m so glad to see these new videos of him in Wicked. He’s my early favorite. He is mega talented, and gorgeous. I downloaded a picture of him off one of the Idol sites and thought about using it as a screen saver, but it’s so intense (his face only) I’m afraid I’d be staring at it all the time.

There were some interesting soundbites on Extra this weekend about Idol. It includes a short interview with Paula, David Cook, and comments by Ryan.

Well Vulture said that about DC, and the Mormon newspaper said that DA can’t act. They all get equal time in the media. It’s very cool to be anti-Idol and so there will always be that.

Ha ha, about the Osmonds owning a share of ET. I have basically quit watching it because I’m so sick of Marie Osmond. She’s extremely polarizing so I don’t think ET did themselves any favors by making her a regular. Donny’s okay by himself, but she … is an attention hound.

I think an Osmond on the show would have dominated too much, he would have lasted almost to the end due to the huge contingent of Osmond fans, there would have been too much attention paid to the family (who would have been front and center in the audience every week), not to mention drama and angst if David’s MS should flare up during the show. It sounds like a circus, and it wouldn’t have been fair to the other contestants (or us either, and many of us might have quit watching).

p.s. I look forward to hearing the Nick/Kara duet. Too bad about the Chris/Kelly duet. Maybe they’ll sing it somewhere someday.
