After winning “American Idol” in 2009, Allen said, his life has taken a 180-degree turn, adding that he always wanted to make music for a living, perform, and travel.

‘American Idol’ favorite overcomes Tourette’s, Asperger’s

I believe it was December of ’98 when my dad passed away of an overdose. A few weeks later, around my 10th birthday, I was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome and Asperger’s syndrome. It was a really rough time, especially at that age, being told I have a neurological “disease,” when I already felt so different. At that point I was being bullied for being different, having big ears, and now for having no dad AND for making weird faces and noises I couldn’t control. I was a walking target. – Read more at CNN

Blake Lewis Discusses Third Album and LGBT Support – Coming in second in any competition is never the ideal outcome, but placing second on a reality singing competition show as big as American Idol is a completely different story and not something to be ashamed of. Blake Lewis, 31, proved he was a force to be reckoned with on the show with his unique arrangements of popular songs and beatboxing skills after rushing to audition sign-ups only a few hours before the cutoff. After receiving a standing ovation from Paula Abdul during the audition process, a comment from Simon Cowell saying he was “over the top” and delivering a memorable performance of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name”, which has been considered one of the show’s best moments, Lewis was labeled a front runner for the title and eventually became the last male contestant standing in the competition. – Read more at Album Confessions

Looking purrfect! Katharine McPhee steals the TCA show in a green animal print dress as she promotes new season of Smash – With her green floaty animal print dress and slick of red lipstick, Katharine McPhee ensured she was a smash hit in the fashion stakes at Sunday’s TCA press conference in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old actress and singer rather unusually teamed her dress with a pair of studded trainers as she took her place on the panel of TV musical series Smash to discuss the new season. She was joined in animal print by co-star Megan Hilty who sported a snakeskin style grey dress, black tights and matching heels. – See the photos at Daily Mail

‘The Voice’ Coaches Dish on New Season – During the Television Critics Association Press Tour on Sunday, the singers revealed that Shelton’s uncomfortable advances towards Levine — done in jest — have now been turned to the newest male addition on the coaching panel. “He’s left me for Usher now,” Levine joked. “So he gets to spend the season making Usher feel uncomfortable.”

The syndicated show, On-Air with Ryan Seacrest, started in July 2011 across all five Real Radio stations and was extended in 2012 to a three hour slot each weeknight. At the time, Group Programme Director John Simons said he was delighted to be bringing one of the best radio shows in the world to the UK. The 10pm till 1am slot has now been filled by extending the evening show by two hours and bringing forward the start time for the overnight shift. – Read more at Radio Today

VIDEO: Chris Colfer and his love of blackmail – For 2013, what do you see coming up for yourself and what are you obsessed with, pop culture-wise? Well, I’ve got a lot of stuff planned on the books. I think I’ll be doing my second film that I wrote, mostly likely be filming that in the summer. And then I have my third novel, the sequel to my first novel, is coming out at end of summer, early fall. And then “Glee.” And as far as pop culture, what am I obsessed with? I’m really bad at being obsessed with pop culture. I know I reference it quite a bit in things that I do and write, but I don’t know. I really love the new creatures they find in the ocean. That’s not really pop culture, that’s just being a nerd.

I don’t know – Jordin being a pharmaceutical drug pusher is a good thing? Kids(and adults) already think there is a magic drug for everything… this just reinforices the myth that pills will fix anything. I wish celebrities would push better diets over drugs.

I still can’t believe New Zealand’s Flea FM is having an ”Adam Lambert Hour” every week. It’s so crazy if you really think about it. He must be so popular over there to sustain this radio show each week.

Thinking about “february” it might – maybe – be a new song from his upcoming album?

It looks like Jordin is on the show to talk about the management of migraine headaches. Where did you get that she is talking about taking diet drugs?

There are several medicines and techniques used for migraine sufferers. Migraines can be debilitating and can last for days, even weeks. Pills are needed.

  • annie12120

I didn’t mention diet drugs. I said that people should try to change their diet to help with their health issues rather than relying on drugs first.  Studies have proven that changing your diet will help with many health issues that you think you need drugs for. Gluten allergy is a good example of all the health problems it causes.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/PVEFG2TOUIXSROKUSO2O2DOWWE Taylor

Jordin isn’t talking about diet drugs. She is on the show discussing a new technique for managing migraines. Watch the clip that was linked.

My question, again: Where did you get that she is talking about taking diet drugs?

How is Jordin being a “pharmaceutical drug pusher”? She found a new technique that is helping her manage her migraines and she is sharing it with others who may suffer from the same type of problem.

CRS, or Country Radio Seminar, is a conference for radio professionals–djs, program directors, and so on.  It’s very good and important to have a presence there.

And I doubt very much that Scotty would do WTT, that ship sailed a long time ago.  My guess is that he’ll be performing new music and the label, etc. will be gauging the reactions.  Crossing fingers…

Jordin’s  two video’s from The Doctors are on their site  . I can’t post separate links so the first video is the one  that says “Managing Migraines” which Jordin and the doctors start off singing  a few seconds of Amazing Grace and Jordin talks about the migraine app  . the 2nd video is titled “Jordin Sparks aha moment”in which Jordin talks about her recent weight loss . mentions of  her Idol past and  future projects  are mentioned as well.

I’m a chronic migraine sufferer.  I agree, when I get a migraine I would try anything, anything to make it go away.  If it goes full blown, I lose two days.  Triggers are different for everyone.  I manage mine with a combo of diet, environment,  and migraine meds prescribed by my doctor.

Just bought my ticket for the Adam Lambert gig in Jakarta. The internet link to buy the tickets (the one that you posted) was not functioning well, they are working on it, so I went to buy the physical ticket … Yeah ! And it turned out that the venue is in the Gandaria City mall itself, on the 3rd floor . (forgot to ask about capacity, but I think at least a few 1000.

Thumbs up for Chris Colfer..at 22 years old, writing, acting and co-producing his first movie that will come out in cinema’s on 11th jan…  carving his careerpath besides Glee. Mr Ryan Murphy 2.0,  I presume ?

Diet is not going to help with migraine.

  • justmefornow

I hope that site is right with the time frame on the album. An April release with a possible Idol appearance during drop week would be HUGE for his sale numbers.
MOABD had already been out for 5 months last April when he was on and he still got that huge sales bump then!

  • annie12120

Changing your food intake choices(also known as your “diet”, not just weight loss diet for those that don’t know the difference) will absolutely help with your migraine headaches.
Google “can diet help with migraines?” and you will get 14 million plus hits on the subject

  • durbesque

You’re doing a good job, annie.  I wouldn’t take it on.  I prefer the term ‘food regimen’….’diet’ confuses the issue, and brings obesity to mind.  Everybody eats gluten, and it causes a myriad of dis-eases.

  • girlygirltoo

Wasn’t April the original expected release date, but it had been pushed back? That site might be using old info.

But I guess we’ll find out when James does that chat

  • http://twitter.com/shoriagirl Shoria

Nothing confusing here. If migraine could be cured so easily, there would be no migraine sufferers. Too bad, “diet pushers” stand on the way of research into the causes and treatment for migraines by simplifying the problem.

  • blackberryharvest

Not sure how true this is, but thought I would post it anyway….

Craig Allen ?@craigallenradio Spoiler Alert! @blakeshelton’s ACM co-host… Scotty McCreery. You heard it here first.

  • durbesque

I didn’t say “migraine could be cured so easily”.

However, to your other point, how do “diet pushers” prevent research? if that’s what you’re saying.

I happen to know of a Doctor who has been curing Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years.  That doesn’t prevent the Foundation from raising millions of dollars on their telethon every year for “research”.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/PVEFG2TOUIXSROKUSO2O2DOWWE Taylor

Diet changes will absolutely not help everyone with migraines.

It may help some, but there isn’t a one-size fits all solution for migraine headaches. There are multiple types of migraines and there are multiple causes and cures. If changing your food choices helped you or someone you know, that’s great, but the same thing can’t be said for the millions of people who suffer with these types of severe headaches at one time or another in their lives.

Universal Studios: Demi Lovato, Phillip Phillips, Pitbull set for Mardi Gras
“American Idol” champion Phillip Phillips, pop star Demi Lovato and Miami rapper Pitbull are among the entertainers set for Universal Studios’ Mardi Gras concerts, set to kick off Feb. 9.
Twelve of the 14 performers were revealed by Universal Orlando on Monday, including the previously announced Matchbox Twenty, a band that got its start in Orlando in the mid-1990s. Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration also includes a parade with elaborate floats, Cajun cuisine and music from New Orleans artists.
Here’s the lineup of singers set to appear on the Music Plaza stage at Universal Studios:

    March 2: Demi Lovato

    March 16: Matchbox Twenty

    March 23: Phillip Phillips

  • justmefornow

Since James just recently said they already have 25 songs recorded, maybe the label is pushing for an earlier release to time with a possible appearance on Idol. If I was Wind-Up, seeing his huge sales bump last time, I’d push for that date as well.

  • Axxxel

Thank you for filling me in… the mall opens at around 10 am (at least the middle part that has access to the 3rd floor).. the performance ison a sunday at 8 pm…. Ideally I should queue at 10 am hehehe. But not sure whether I am able to do that.Sunday the mall is crowded and my heart feels like an an 18 years old but my bones, muscles and joints are not   :-( …

So here are 2 categories only… all festival…standing… from the middle to the back(festival B) , and from the middle to the front (festival A). I have “A” so worse comes to worse, I will stand in the middle. Of course I am able to be laidback about this, because I already saw Adam performing 2 years ago in Spore and at that time I was up front, not centre though, more to the side, but still…because I had access to the fanzone near the stage thanks to lurkers on this blog who queued very early and got bracelets for the fanzone.

The ticket says “no camera’s or recorders”… oh well..
