Steven Tyler’s visit to Hingham turns charitable

Looks like “American Idol’’ judge Steven Tyler is home for the holidays.

tyler.jpgThe Aerosmith frontman, who lives in Marshfield, was at Whole Foods in Hingham on Monday night doing some holiday shopping with his model daughter, Mia.

When Tyler got to the cash register, he put smiles on the faces of employees (including Julie Morin, shown here with Tyler) when he decided to buy 100 Feed Kids Now bags, which are $5 bags filled with nutritious foods that are distributed to children at the Quincy Crisis Center.

Whole Foods marketing team leader Tina Barber said Tyler’s visit was a surprise, not a staged, do-gooding photo-op.

Jennifer Hudson “Feeling Good” About Weight Loss

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – She won’t say how much weight she lost, but singer/actress Jennifer Hudson will say that in the nine months she’s been a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, she has never felt better.

Hudson is even singing about it in a new tune, “Feeling Good, ” which is part of an ad campaign the dieting firm is launching on December 26 to coincide with its new nutritional PointsPlus program.

“Basically (the song) is the perfect way to describe this journey and how it’s left me feeling, ” Hudson told Reuters. “If I could bottle everything inside me and tell others to help motivate them, then this is it.”

CBS Shifts ‘Blue Bloods’ to Wednesdays

CBS will shift Tom Selleck drama Blue Bloods to the higher profile Wednesday at 10 p.m. time slot for four weeks in January and give new romantic comedy Mad Love the post-How I Met Your Mother slot beginning February.

The announcement comes as the network firms up its midseason schedule.

Blue Bloods, which is averaging more than 12 million viewers on Friday nights, will begin its tryout Jan. 19 displacing The Defenders, which will move to Fridays at 8 p.m. effective Feb. 4. Previously announced Live to Dance, with Paula Abdul will get the 8 p.m. Wednesday slot beginning Jan. 5.

Paula Abdul Talks Dance, Idol and Reteaming With Simon Cowell

TV Guide Magazine: Live to Dance will go up against Idol on Wednesdays, starting January 19. How do you feel about that?
Abdul: I haven’t really thought about it much. They’re two different shows, and I think there’s an audience for both. [Idol is] a juggernaut that you can’t deny, and my show’s a new show that I hope people are charmed by.

TV Guide Magazine: Are you feeling the pressure, though?
Abdul: I would be lying if I didn’t say that I’m totally invested in this [show] and yeah, there’s a part of me that does have that anxious nervous energy. But I thrive on that!
