Beyonce is an Extremely Beautiful, Classy woman who can definately sing and she can dance her ass off. Her performances are amazing! She also has ‘hype’  as far as movies, media, magazines,awards, etc. She has also produced several MEGA HITS! There is NO COMPARISON of Kris to Beyonce!

ITA- I was just making a comparison of their “off camera” persona. Beyonce is low key off camera, but a dynamo on stage. What I meant, which I guess wasn’t clear, is that you don’t have to have a dynamic personality off stage if you have the goods. I don’t know if Kris has the goods yet or not, it’s too soon to tell. His second album may blow everyone away. If he puts out an awesome album, it won’t matter if he is laid back in interviews.

You do realize that SUBO makes EVERYONE look bad. In fact, she makes all contestants from all the seasons of AI look bad! She isn’t just blowing Adam away. She is blowing everyone away!

I never saw this claim. Most were hoping for around 150K the first week. Why wouldn’t there be comparisons to Kris and Jordin? They won!

I think Jive is disappointed. I think RCA is thrilled with Adam’s sales thus far and the fact that there is such great interest internationally! I think they made a wise choice going with the runner-up this year.

Yep, he got the same thing David Cook got. David earned the extras (Sketcher’s, Oprah, etc.) due to talent and personality. David’s album sold like the winner of AI is expected to sell.

If you put out a great album, I don’t think people care if you are on the boring side. Overall, I think Beyonce is kind of boring in real life but she puts on a great show and produces big hits.

Kris has had very little hype in my opinion. He was treated as an afterthought during the season, after he won, and even now. No one in the eight season of idol has been hyped to the level of Adam Lambert IMO. Is he off to a decent start in terms of album sales? Yes, but he isn’t exactly setting the world on fire in that department. Honestly, I expected Adam to blow up right off the bat given all the hype and expectations surrounding him. So far that hasn’t happened.

I think Adam’s fans are happy with his sales number so far because his number looked good compared to Kris but in reality, his number was not even 10% of SuBo despite all the massive hype (the next Elvis or Madonna.. etc). I thought he was expected to make David Cook’s sales looked bad but instead now we’re comparing him to Kris and Jordon since they sold worse. Numbers are numbers, bottom lines are bottom lines, spin them anyway you want. I only hope that RCA and Jive are okay with the disappointing numbers thus far and will give both Kris and Adam a lot more time to prove themselves in the sale department esp. since they both are very talented and have good shot for longivity in this business.

Why did he win? That can be debated but if Adam wasn’t on AI this season, can anyone say for sure he would have won? Although talented, if you measure him against the other top 5, Allison, Matt and Danny was he the one that stood out the most? That’s a tough call. I think we can see by album sales, etc., that he doesn’t have a passionate AI fan base. But that is now ancient history. He has been given a golden ticket, and it is up to him to market himself and put himself out there.

If Adam wasn’t in AI8, Kris will still win. He had never been in the bottom 3 till the Top 5 week and that’s the ONLY time he was in the bottom few. After top 5 week, he was the FIRST to call to safety. He got my vote since his first performance on AI8 and my vote for him had nothing to do with Adam but simply because I love his music style, personality and esp. his talent! I’m sure I’m not alone on feeling this way. After all he did sell 80K on his first week. And he will continue to sell more week after week because of his music and just his music alone.. not hype, not controversies.

I don’t think we can blame Kris’ lack of sales on Adam. Adam has little enough control over even his own sales. It is not going to help Kris to blame his lack of sales on Adam’s so called over hyping. I doubt Kris is the type that wants to whine and make excuses either.

And before anyone adds that Allison has crappy sales, yes, it is true, but if she had won she would have gotten the winner’s package, more exposure etc, which would have benefited her sales.

Later, his friends and family surprised him in his hotel suite by singing him Happy Birthday and presenting him with a Cold Stone ice cream cake in his favorite flavor: Cookie Dough.

Haa. That boy has excellent taste in junk food. One of the greatest truths I’ve discovered in life is that ice cream cake >>>> regular ol’ cake.

Re: Leno vs. Conan…Leno has never been funny, really. Now that he doesn’t have the Tonight Show franchise backing him, people are finally figuring that out. Horny Manatee, however, will never NOT be funny. Jes sayin.
