That's just the first difference between you and her...the dissimilarities have to go on from there. I can't pretend to understand the mentality of that neighborhood. From the people who heard gunshots and ignored them to her mother who said she wouldn't want to live anywhere else, I just don't pretend to understand it. I guess in the shelter of my middle-class suburban lifestyle, I don't have to understand it. It's a good thing because I think you have to be from that type of neighborhood to understand so, therefore, I really don't care to do so. I'm not willing to put myself in a position to get it. One thing that bothers me though, is that Bafour had made previous threats to Julia that he would kill her family. He threatened it again that morning, but she went off to work leaving her family sleeping. I wonder how he got back into the house. I guess I'm a more paranoid person, but if anyone ever threatened harm to my family even once, I would be horrified and would take it very seriously, and take action to try to prevent it from happening. Especially when this man had already served 7 years for attempted murder. They said that she and others didn't take the threats seriously, I've read this elsewhere too. Not to blame her in any way, or anyone else, but I don't understand going off to work leaving my family asleep after my husband just threatened to kill them. That would not be a normal event in my life. I wonder if the family knew these threats had been made against them previously. If so, shouldn't they have moved, tried to file charges, hired bodyguards, gotten good locks and alarms on the doors and windows, etc? I'm so paranoid that I would move to another state and change my name if I had to, if I thought someone was threatening to kill me.
