OK, I have got to know….would Lauren have had the goods to file a lawsuit?  TBH, Cat Deeley is an awesome host, but it seems Lauren is still wanting to work with Nigel.  Also, is this an old interview since Paula is not a judge?

  • girlygirltoo

Looking forward to hearing about Kris’ trip to Kenya. It appears that there will be a blog and maybe some videos.

  • wordnerdarchie

I got to hear Haley Reinhart’s “Hit the Ground Runnin'” as musical lead into college football game on ABC a few minutes ago.  It fit right in.

  • OffLeash

What’s Kris doing in Kenya? Is it for some charity event?

  • CanadianLady

    World Vision.

For anybody on Jermaine Paul Witness Protection vigil, he tweeted yesterday that we will not be seeing his debut album on its original December 18 drop date:

I will be pushing my album release back to next year. I really want it to be right for you ALL. Thanks for the support and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

My money is increasingly on Universal Republic’s dropping him before releasing the album.

  • girlygirltoo

Yes he’s travelling there with the non-profit organization World Vision. They are there to research how the organization’s efforts are helping improve the life in Kenya and to find out what areas they need to improve. Also, I believe they are planning to make some sort of film chronicling the trip.

  • girlygirltoo

I still think they’ll release the album, but with even less promo than Javier and Dia got.

  • tucker davis

Kudos to Kris Allen! He constantly uses his ‘fame’ to make the world a better place.

David Cook Offers Tate Stevens Advice</blockquote

I noticed that story brewing up on Tuesday – I saw the FOX4 reporter angling on Twitter to get David or Andrew to talk to him while he was home in KC – looks like he did it at the 125th Anniversary Dinner in KC.

But no Quid Pro Quo? Bad manners. If David was going to give him a segment for his Special Snowflake report, as noncommittal and diplomatic as it was – – he 'could' have mentioned the gig at the Convention Center in KC, the reason why David was home, and not tried to make it look solely like an endorsement, as he did on Twitter. "And" ask David Cook fan's to vote for Tate. IMO.

    Heh. Kids these days.

  • suenigma

It was nice of Tate to acknowledge and thank David for his comments on Twitter though?

  • yksask

Thanks for posting. Love that Clay is tweeting more these days. You know that Christmas is coming when Clay starts singing the festive music.

  • Incipit

Yes it was, suenigma. Tate has good manners. The FOX4 reporter, on the other hand? Not so much.

    IMO.Of Course.

  • kuanna23

Thanks for posting. Keep up uptodate on this tour, please.

Tweets say that Scotty and Pia sang a duet of Let It Snow.

  • CanadianLady

Mike posted a picture of them rehearsing earlier. I hope some videos turn up.

  • tripp_ncwy

ITA & they will probably slip it in during Jan-Feb as an afterthought.

  • elliegrll

I looked, but I didn’t see any mention of this, NBC is producing another singing show.  It’s both a singing show and a game show from the producers of Deal or No Deal.

It’s more of a game show than a show about finding the next superstar or someone who can actually sing, so it might work. According to Rodney Ho, it will probably air during the summer.

  • Eilonwy

LiveNation (a.k.a. Ticketmaster) has relaunched its web site as a social media hub: Billboard article. Killer quote:

“Before the actual day of the show, there’s never really been a way to socialize or share that participation,” Garland says. “The idea of Concert Countdown was to turn your first awareness of the show – whether it’s the on-sale, the announcement or buying the ticket — into something you can share and own.”

And here I thought people were using Twitter for that.

LiveNation has a genius for finding ways to lose money, so I guess it’s a step forward to lose money as a hip, new-media company rather than as an old-school company that focuses on selling an actual thing.

I am so proud to be one of Kris Allen’s fans.  He is always doing something for others and inspires us to follow.  I cannot wait to hear about his travel to Kenya and to see the film that World Vision USA is going to make.  Safe travels, Kris!

FYE came out three years ago today! Wow. Thank you all for your passion since then!! I love you!

  • Jordana33

    Tweet from Lyric 145:

We Love Our NOBLEZ So Much U Deserve To Hear The Song We Were Originally SUPPOSE 2do for “Diva Week” So HERE IT IS!!

Here’s the link for the song that they had intended to perform. I think it would have sounded great live.

  • girlygirltoo

That is very cool (although I’m not a huge fan of the R-E-S-P-E-C-T being sung in such a high key, sounds a little weird; love the rest of it though)

Wonder why this got pulled? Unless they couldn’t clear the original song (which seems unlikely, given how many times the song has been covered, including on reality singing shows), I didn’t hear any reason why they shouldn’t have been able to have performed this.

  • tripp_ncwy

Pics from event in Cancun Rock & Roll Experience at the Hard Rock Hotel, Ace Young, Diana Digarmo & Allison Iraheta.

  • tripp_ncwy

    Safe travels sleepy Kris.

@WorldVisionUSA: Made it to Amsterdam. Next stop: Nairobi! #spiritofchristmas @KrisAllen

  • Jordana33

I wasn’t crazy about the high-pitched R-E-S-P-E-C-T part either (maybe it would have made sense live?) but otherwise, I thought the song was very cool and would have been 10x better than the ET song. I really don’t understand why it was pulled at the last minute, especially since Simon was their “coach” and should have been aware of  their performance days in advance.

I already miss seeing Lyric 145 on X Factor. If they’re able to come up with these kinds of arrangements in such a short space of time, I’m looking forward to hearing what they can do once they start recording their album. Even some of their X Factor arrangements could easily be singles with the right backing from a record label.

  • halo9125

Fairly decent video of Scotty and Pia performing “Let It Snow” :-)

  • jdanton2

Here is what might be the whole set for the show with Pia and Scotty’s duet at about 18:30 into it. this is also more close up.

  • Lexie O’Neill

Thanks for posting–seems like they left some out…this longer vid (the last one on the site, starting at 17:06) from the concert has a brief section of them together–she’s beautiful, he’s handsome, and she blows him a kiss:)  Love the affection between these friends and their voices together…

  • MissMyEm

Glad to hear Kris and company made it safely to Nairobi.   Looking forward to his blog and to him coming home.   I’m looking so forward to February, when Kris comes to L.A. for 4 shows.   Kris sets such a good example for people, IMO.  Far bettter than I do.  He’s always using his name to help others, especially around the holidays.   Kris you rock.   I love this guy.

Jim Shearer from VH1 Top20 Video Countdown had an interview with Phillip Phillips today talking about Home (#6) and his debut album. Home is Jim’s favorite idol coronation song ever.

He doesn’t like listening to his voice.  Except when he is performing live then he can just keep his eyes closed.
Jim wants Gone Gone Gone as the next single.
Recorded cd in October (3 weeks) from start to master. 14 hr days.
Oldest song on cd (reg version) Wanted Is Love, 2 – 3 yrs old.
He will finally get a couple of weeks off around Christmas to decompress.
