It’s been an experience like none other, it’s something that’s ground breaking that hasn’t been shot on television ever before. It’s all interactive which makes it crazy crazy crazy but very exciting, it’s fun! I’m very excited it’s been amazing to put a whole medley together on that stage because they’re all about visuals and they’re totally into it. It’s been a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun.” – Listen at Ryan Seacrest.com

Kelly Clarkson Has Some ‘Bowie Meets U2′ Music in Her Back Pocket – The inaugural “American Idol” champ tells Billboard that she recorded six new songs for “Greatest Hits — Chapter One,” out now. “We’ve got three other ones we recorded for this album that are fantastic,” she says. “There’s one that actually sounds a little more for country radio or could be for pop; it’s just kind of a really beautifully written singer-songwriter song. One sounds like David Bowie meets U2, and the other sounds like a 2012 version of En Vogue. They’re all over the map, so we really don’t know what we’re gonna do with the next project.” – Read more at Billboard

Premiere: Lennon and Maisy’s ‘Christmas Coming Home’ – 1:52PM EST November 20. 2012 – ABC’s Nashville has lots of female singers, but the two most promising in real life might be Lennon and Maisy Stella, who play the two daughters of Connie Britton’s Rayna James character. Lennon, 13, and Maisy, 8, are actually the daughters of a Canadian husband-and-wife country duo called The Stellas, and their gorgeous, cup-slapping cover of Robyn’s Call Your Girlfriend has received more than 10 million views on YouTube. The girls’ talent-show rendition of Telescope in Nashville’s third episode has been one of the performance highlights of the Wednesday-night series. ETA: The Stellas were contestants on that CMT competition, Can You Duet competition. I totally remember these little girls. – USA Today

David Cook is just now singing his 5th song in KC at the Chamber 125th Anniversary Celebration.  He debuted a new song tonight called “Love You Right” co-written with Emerson Hart, the lead singer of Tonic.  There are a couple fans there, so we might have some audio.  Yay!

What an incredible day for him :)  Hoping for video or audio also.

  • wordnerdarchie

Just saw on twitter that there will be video of all his songs except the first one (Fade Into Me).

Also saw this “They said he’d be back to sing a “very special song” we won’t want to miss.”

I wonder what he’ll be singing?

ETA: Set-list to this point: FIM, TLSIWFY, New song, Purple Rain and LO.

David C. is requesting fans at the KC event tonight, to not share the new song yet. *sigh* so we wait…. hope we get it SOON.

Also saw this “They said he’d be back to sing a “very special song” we won’t want to miss.”

I saw that, wordnerdarchie. He said he wants to “let it marinate”.

But there is video coming of the ‘special song’ he sang – and I am waiting to hear this one for sure!

“Kansas City Here I Come” – an R&B song by Lieber and Stoller that originated in 1952, and was covered by the Beatles, Little Richard, and a host of other very well-known names. There are 10 versions just on the album Best of Kansas City.

A Grammy Hall of Fame winner, it’s the official song of Kansas City – and I’ll bet there was a sing-a-long at the Convention Center tonight – with a room full of 1700 people that included Mayors, Senators and State Representatives – why not? They sang along to “Purple Rain” too!

Can.not.wait to hear David’s take on these lyrics. Heh.

I’m goin’ to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come (2x)
They got a crazy way of lovin’ there, and I’m gonna get me some
I’m gonna be standing on the corner, of Twelfth Street and Vine (2x)
With my Kansas City baby, and a bottle of Kansas City wine…

    Film at Eleven. *snerk*

I thought the Nicki Minaj interview was very good, and she handled the Mariah Carey question very well. The feud obviously hasn’t stopped her from expressing her admiration for Mariah Carey as an artist.

  • Incipit

Ah well, looks like no videos out of Kansas City until tomorrow – (except for FIM and the New Song).

Our awesome videographer has crashed for the evening. Heh.

But David checked in on Twitter:

    >>@thedavidcook
What a day, what a day. Thanks to everyone who was a part of it. I’m honored and humbled and such.

  • girlygirltoo

yup, that’s pretty much the unofficial anthem of the city, and it is a great song, to boot. hope to see some vid of David singing it :)

I honestly don’t remember other artists doing as much charity as the idols do…or did I just not pay attention before? Good for Kris and Scotty!

If you want a smile to start your morning (and then I promise to stop posting about Scotty for the morning at least:), listen to this dj in Dover, Delaware when Scotty called in yesterday…

James’ SCIBIT is featured under “Cool New Rock Music” on All Access:

  • justmefornow

Nice. Also of the top 4 featured songs, 2 are Wind up artists and another was also produced by James Michael.
(Seems from those descriptions, Wind up does know how to get rock radio to play their acts.)

Here’s another article about David Cook being honored at his elementary school. http://www.examiner.net/news/x1665837527/An-idol-comes-home

And as much as I want to hear the new song, I am glad that the fans that were there are honoring his wishes not to post it yet.  Hope to hear it soon, though.  Really soon :)
