Shakira And Usher Bring New Competitive Edge to ‘The Voice’ – When we spoke to Usher at iHeart Radio in Las Vegas in September he promised to promote a competitive edge, but he isn’t the only one bringing that attitude. At the audition we saw some friendly competition between Usher and Shakira over one contestant, and when Usher bested Levine for another vocalist at the audition, he playfully taunted his fellow judge. Those were the best 60 continuous minutes I’ve ever heard from James Durbin. He was better than never. It seems that he’s a natural WGWG. lol

I just didn’t like too much the 30STM’s cover. Since Idol I realized James and 30STM don’t belong together. lolBut other than that, everything was perfect.

Has anyone recorded the Pink’s cover? That was something!

  • justmefornow

Actually these two are the only ones so far on YouTube.
And I agree if he had been this awesome of a WGWG on Idol he would have had it in the bag, lol.

Wow…I *love* the melody of that tune. It fits the subject matter of the song perfectly—a bit melancholy at the right places to enhance the lyrics.

And on a side note: Is that a Heisenberg T-shirt James is wearing. LOL!

  • justmefornow

    lol.

Sabbia, seems like someone may have been peeking in here again, lol.
James answered our question about whether they were recording or just writing in Nashville:

    James Durbin ?@DurbinRock
Almost every new song we’ve written (about 25) for the new record, has already been recorded. We’re killin it!! For YOU the fans!!

No way James would have ever beaten Scotty. Scotty was a shoe in from the word go.

  • justmefornow

Yeah, no kidding, thus the “lol” in my post.
