American Idol in S.A. Handing Out Golden Tickets – American Idol is back in San Antonio hoping to find big talent for a new season with new judges. Sunday was day one of the two-day auditions here in town. Judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson will be hearing from about one hundred potential idols, many of them from right here in Texas. America’s Best Dance Crew Canceled After 7 Seasons – The beat will not go on for America’s Best Dance Crew, which has been canceled after seven seasons, Variety reports. The MTV reality series, produced by Randy Jackson, featured judges JC Chasez, Lil Mama and, more recently, So You Think You Can Dance alum D-Trix. D-Trix, and before him Omarion, followed choreographer Shane Sparks, who left after Season 4 amid child molestation charges unrelated to the show. INXS Calls It Quits After 35 Years (Report) – SYDNEY – Iconic Australian rockers INXS have called time on their music career, announcing at a gig in Perth on Sunday night that they were playing their last concert together. According to the Perth Now website, drummer Jon Farriss announced the news that the group is disbanding and admitted, “I’m getting teary,” before playing one of INXS’ biggest hits, “Need You Tonight.” There has been no formal statement from the band since. Dancing’s Derek Hough: We Have to Push the Rules – After sitting last week out on Dancing with the Stars because of a neck injury, Derek Hough is back and here to stay. “I feel good and my goal is to finish the season,” he tells TVGuide.com “There are only a few weeks left and I’m going to try to finish strong.” While he took a break, his BFF Mark Ballas stepped in to dance with Shawn Johnson, with whom Ballas won Season 8, and the three are back together again this week for their samba trio — which will bend, if not break, the rules.
