My answer was in response to that.

I did not say I felt that way or that it was the right way to feel. All I said was that popular, hyped idol contestants often have high expectations attached to their debut. From the idol fans/blogs and the media. Call it the Carrie/Daughtry effect. And that there will be grumbling if they don’t have big hits out the gate. I didn’t say it was fair.

Now if you want to argue against that way of thinking fine, but don’t direct it at me because I didn’t invent it. LOL.

Oh I wasn’t directing anything at you and I didn’t conclude from your post that your thinking went along those lines. I was asking a legitimate question about idol fans/blogs versus what I would consider normal, non-invested people.

I’m not really a fan of Idol. Actually I barely tolerate this cheesy show and am not a consistent viewer (2.1 seasons total I think) so I don’t quite get the Carrie/Daughtry effect thing. I think Kirsten was saying in the Media thread today that Daughtry’s success was a surprise because he was booted early?

Anyway, I guess I don’t see that the public-at-large pays too much attention to exactly how a former Idol’s debut song charts. Many people I know have stopped watching Idol completely. Don’t know about the media wrt Idol debuts and expectations; do many people pay much attention to the Entertainment Media anymore? Did David Cook get grief outside the Idol bubble of fans/blogs/idolmedia?

I feel that Adam fans support the other two but it never works the other way around.

I’m a Kris uber fan. And I am waiting for Adam’s album as well. I also notice that most Allison fans are Adam fans as well (and vice versa).

Also, I still don’t get the connection between being over Kradison and implying that some people are going to benefit more from this event. I see no correlation. But, whatever.

If it’s anywhere around NY or New England I will be there. I sat through a whole Idol concert just for a 20 minute show so.

I’m there, too. Love Adam, but thoroughly enjoyed Kris this summer and always intended to see them both when they toured.

I hate KISS, but I went ahead and voted for Los Angeles. Total votes so far – 38! Not exactly earthshaking and LA is #2 in vote getters? LOL

From what others have said, there are more acts than just Kris, Adam, and Allison booked for this free concert. I also expected a quite different picture when someone said that Adam was UP FRONT with Kris and Allison in the background. It’s just their faces left to right and from a visual standpoint, it makes sense for the lightest one (and winner) to be in the middle.

February makes sense for a concert. They and other acts are booked through December and they all need some down and personal time off after a very hectic year.

February is also when Kris plans on kicking off his solo tour. The personal dynamics between these three as individuals is fun to watch and overall, it seems like they do share fanbases despite the impression people might get from OTT fanwars.

It’s good publicity for them and they are probably excited about the idea since they are very close friends.

I don’t see anyone outside the same old idol bubble going for this. so it’s publicity that they already have. it wld be better publicity if they each opened for a bigger act some where else far from one another.

As for Danny, he;’s not managed by 19, and this concert was probably the brainchild of the 19 management folks

Like I said before, Danny is the lucky one. This concert is going to do nothing to promote any of their careers outside the Idol bubble.

Since nobody else seems to want this concert, could you all do me a favour and vote for the concert to be in Vancouver, BC?

I want to see them try to scramble to find a freakin’ venue to host the darn thing during the middle of the Olympics. Hee!

Forget trying to get a hotel room. They’ll probably have to tent it next to Molson Canada house in the GM Place parking lot. I just want to see what happens. LOL.

I have to disagree. I know several people who are Kris fans but also support Adam.
