Casey James Has No Trouble Delivering His Wordy Hit, “Crying on a Suitcase” – Casey James‘ latest single, “Crying on a Suitcase,” is one of the more wordy songs on the radio these days, but Casey has never had a problem spitting all those lyrics out. In fact, he had the delivery down cold from the start. Casey tells ABC News Radio,”‘Tell her that you want her, need her, love her, gotta have her’ — those are type things that you could easily mix up, but almost from the very first time that I heard it, it was like, boom, in my mind, you know. “ – Read more at ABC News Radio

Chris Colfer Talks Kurt & Blaine On Glee: They’re Like Grey’s Anatomy’s Meredith & Derek – LOS ANGELES, Calif. — “Glee” fans the world over have been saddened by Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson’s breakup on the FOX show. But don’t dismay, Gleeks. Chris Colfer (who plays recent New Yorker Kurt on the series) says he firmly believes the currently-separated pair will reunite for good. “I think eventually [they’ll get back together],” the actor told Kit Hoover and Billy Bush on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live, when asked about the on-screen couple’s future. – Read more at Access Hollywood

Chris Colfer’s New Asylum Movie “Completely Different” From Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story – Just because Chris Colfer’s next movie script takes place in an asylum, that doesn’t mean he’s trying to rip off his Glee boss Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story. “It takes place in an asylum in the 1930s,” Colfer told me yesterday while promoting Struck by Lightning, the high school drama that he wrote and stars in with Rebel Wilson and Sarah Hyland. “We started putting it together long before American Horror Story [season two] ever happened. – Read more at E News

Nashville: Why We’re Rooting for “Bad Girl” Juliette – She might have started off as Nashville’s mean girl, but Juliette Barnes has quickly become the character to root for. When viewers first met the young starlet, played by Hayden Panettiere, she was rude, selfish, overly confident and a downright diva. During her first meeting with Rayna (Connie Britton) she made it clear that she was a superstar on the rise and Rayna was an old, fading has-been. She further proved she’d do anything to get ahead by sleeping with Rayna’s producer. (Rayna’s ex Deacon wasn’t far behind.) But as Juliette’s character opened up and her backstory was developed, it wasn’t long before we found ourselves wanting her to succeed and thoroughly enjoying the scenes in which she was most vulnerable. – Read more at TV Guide

Kris and his band play show in Ridgefield, CT tonight. That is right next door to Newton, pretty much. Will be interesting to see if he does the song he dedicated to the victims of the shootings during his StageIt concert at his gig tonight.

  • Axxxel

Comments on the 2nd Chris Colfer’s article are “funny”… they are both inspired by and jealous of Chris Colfer success as e.g. a writer and co-producer.

  • Axxxel

Yeah, Chris Colfer thinks that Klaine is endgame… I think so too but hopefully only in Season 5 of Glee… If there will be a season 5. As Ryan Murphy pointed out, if you want to know what will happen to Klaine in the adult world, watch “the new normal”…

After split with label, Kris Allen feels free to roam

“It was pretty much a mutual thing, it feels like,” Allen said of his departure from RCA. “I had a great run there. They did a lot for me at RCA, and I have a lot of really good friends and also mentors there and people that I really respect. But I think just for the place that I was going into and kind of the artist that I wanted to be — I’m not going to say we didn’t butt heads at all, because we did. But I don’t think that’s very uncommon when it comes to artists and labels.
“There’s just a nice feeling now. It sounds cliche, but like a (feeling of) freedom that you can make your own music.”
Allen is certainly not slinking away into the sunset now that his days on RCA are over. He’s starting 2013 with the most extensive headlining tour of his career, a run that continues through February and also includes a few dates set for April.
The tour, Allen said, is part of a shift in strategy for building his career — away from trying to get radio play to generate hit songs and more toward building a grassroots following by concentrating on touring.

Kris is definitely doing the ‘Where Are You Amy’ song tonight.

For the request tonight we are going to do a special song just for tonight.

That’s a really nice article on Kris. THere have been quite a few. It’s nice to see all the press he’s getting.

”Justin Bieber Would Have Been a Grammy Nominee if the Recording Academy Hadn’t Changed its Rules”

The interesting thing is that Bieber, as well as Adam Lambert, Jason
Mraz and others, would almost certainly have been a 2013 Grammy nominee
if the Academy hadn’t changed its rules last year.

As it turns out, all five nominees for the Solo Pop award in 2013 are
female. Not a single guy made the cut. If the Male Pop Performance award
still existed, Bieber’s “Boyfriend” would have been an overwhelming
favorite to earn a nomination, along with Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up” and
Ne-Yo’s “Let Me Love You.” Other contenders would have included Ed
Sheeran’s “The A Team,” Lambert’s “Never Close Our Eyes,” and Phillip
    Phillips’ “Home.”

Am so glad Kris manager is doing such a great job getting his name out their more. I get to see him playing tomorrow night, this will be mine and my husband’s second time seeing him and my three kids first time. So the three of them are excited. My middle child Hanna loves the way he sings the most and than my second, my oldest is more into country but she likes the way he sings and some of his songs. I only seen him when he played state College the first tour, so it’s been a really long time!!!!!!! So its going to be so cool to finally see him again!!!!!!!

Great, fun interview with Kelly today on WSIX, and really great if you want some details on her engagement and some early wedding details, plus a bunch of other fun stuff.  haha  She wasn’t expecting it and they were just at home enjoying the evening and he snuck it in. She said, “I didn’t have a bra on. I was in sweats. I had Uggs on.” LOL  He had the ring engraved with their initials and a saying that they have together. On top of that, he also had a replica made of the Jane Austen ring she won in an auction earlier this year that she later found out she couldn’t take out of the UK.

I thought it was cute that she mentioned that before she and Brandon got together and after he’d been divorced a little while, Reba’s mom and Narvel’s mom each went to Reba and Narvel asking when Kelly and Brandon were going to get together. I guess people knew it was going to eventually happen.

She also mentioned at the end that she’s in an interesting point in her career where she’s not sure exactly where she’s going next but she just got another country song she wants to cut and it’s very much what’s going in her life at the moment.  There was a recent song that appeared on ASCAP with Kelly listed as a performer called “Some Love” written by Hillary Lindsey, Shane Stevens, Cory Churko and Jason Halbert that I’m thinking might be it or it could be the leftover from the GH recordings.

    WSIX interview

Then there was one with Kix Brooks that was a bit more serious.

They’ve known each other for awhile so it was like two buddies talking and they’re apparently going on a duck hunting trip together next week… random.  Anyway, he got her to talk about a lot of stuff related to her career, personal life and an extended part about country, pop, genre lines and how definitions of what each genre is changes with each generation (that talk starts around the 6:20 mark and specifically at 10:10).

So excited that Kris is going to be performing at SXSW. I’ve been wanting to go to that for years and years. Probably can’t go to see him (boo), but this is a great opportunity for him. I remember being excited when Crystal go to play there a couple years ago

  • elliegrll

I don’t think that any of Adam’s songs garnered enough attention for him to be considered for any category.

  • Nadine_Bitch

Eh, I heard the same thing couple of years back and see what happened.

  • nekola

Agreed. I’ve always thought the music festival circuit would be a good avenue for Kris. A way to raise his profile and get his music out there.

  • dy

Add me to the list of folks excited that Kris is playing SXSW. I’ve always thought that was the right type of festival for him to be playing, and I’m so glad he’s not with 19M anymore, as they thought too much in a box and were pretty slack in getting gigs and interviews, as shown by the amount of gigs and interviews he is getting now. PGE is taking proper care of him and as a fan, I’m glad.

  • Miz

    Grats to Kris!

THis seems to be more than a music festival. It appears also to be an  industry (music, film, interactive media) convention also unless I’m misunderstanding their website. It looks like a tremendous opportunity to be seen and network.Last year the music keynote speaker was Bruce Springsteen. Not too shabby.

  • elliegrll

Whether it would have been nominated or not is pure speculation, but there’s no speculation involved when comparing the achievements and attention that WWFM received to that of the singles that Adam released from is current album.

  • durbesque

Looked over the SXSW list.  Of the thousand names, Kris is the only one I know.  He’ll have to be spectacular to be noticed.  At least he should be completely healed by March and functioning at full tilt.

  • Esther Macha

I,v been to SXSW many times it is not your normal festival. the bands play at many different venues all thru out the week. Lots of small clubs, street stages.larger clubs ,hole in the wall places too. Some play just a few songs. It,s a place to network and try to get noticed by someone who can help you in your career. It is good for music lovers who want to hear a lot of different music. You need to have a game plan if there is someone you really want to hear. SXSW will put out a schedule at some point listing where the musicians will play.

  • MellyPer1692

    Crystal appeared at SXSW right?

  • parsenip

The tour, Allen said, is part of a shift in strategy for building his career — away from trying to get radio play to generate hit songs and more toward building a grassroots following by concentrating on touring.

Wow, an actual strategy.  I’m loving this new management.

  • tripp_ncwy

Kris admitted tonight on stage that he is touring against dr’s advice.

  • bridgette12

That’s not the smartest thing to do, he should have delayed the tour for a couple of weeks and made up the skipped dates at the end of the tour. He has to be careful of that arm swelling and also watch out for infection.

  • AlesheaDominique

So I JUST had to mention this. I was listening to a local morning show on one of my country radio stations. (Casey James is a local boy and they JUST started playing him) One of the radio DJ’s asked the other one which up and coming Country Artist does he think had the most dedicated fans. The other guy then goes “deff Casey James. Ever since we finally started playing Crying on a Suitcase his fans blow up our Twitter after we play it.” He then goes,  “Tweet us right now but don’t tweet us about the Tim McGraw song we just played we wanna hear about Casey James. This one is for you fans. Here is Crying on a Suitcase” Y’all best believe I pulled over (I was already headed to the gas station) and tweeted “I’m one of those who always tweets after you play @CaseyJames:disqus Here’s the tweet you asked for #Thanks”

I ain’t even a stan and this made me SOOO happy.

    Pop Break –
    Interview: Kris Allen

  • lovetheusa1776

Yes, speculation – but happy to see that the writer felt Lambert’s music worthy enough to be included in that roster.
