With ‘Idol’ over, Angie Miller is poised for next step – Miller, who will perform at Topsfield Fair tomorrow night, plans to move to Los Angeles in January to continue writing songs and, hopefully, sign a recording contract. “I don’t know when it will happen,” she said of a possible record deal. “I hope it will be soon.” – Read more at Salem News

American Idol star Mandisa draws strength from music on ‘Brandisa Tour’ – “I’m fighting every day – it’s not just for a final destination,” said the artist known simply as Mandisa, by phone from Nashville. Mandisa’s struggle has been with her weight. Sparks was emotional over script – Speaking at the premiere, which closed the Hollywood Black Film Festival, Jordin said: “It was really dark in the script, they had to lighten it up a little bit because it was really heavy. “At the end of the script when I read it for the first time, I thought, how is anybody going to get through this? Dancing’s Brant Daugherty: I Was “Really Worried” About Last Week’s Routine – By all accounts, the weekly rehearsals for contestants on Dancing with the Stars require a tremendous amount of physical strain and mental focus. Unfortunately, Brant Daugherty wasn’t feeling up to par in either area before performing last week’s quickstep. The Pretty Little Liars star was mugged outside of his apartment immediately following his routine the previous week, and also had to contend with a foot injury ahead of Week 3. ‘American Idol’ Judge Keith Urban to Launch Guitar Line With HSN – Keith Urban is looking to strum up a little side business with a new line of guitars. The “Stupid Boy” singer and “American Idol” judge is pairing up with HSN, the company behind the Home Shopping Network, to launch a new line of guitars available Nov. 3. The guitar line, dubbed the Urban Guitar Collection, aims to provide affordable instruments to aspiring musicians. It includes two versions of the Phoenix Edition guitar — an acoustic model and an acoustic/electric version — available in a variety of finishes.
