Actually I think the term the journalist used was overshawdowed’ ¦and that just means that their hype seems to be bigger than the winners. Whether you agree or disagree with the comment he is entitled to his/her opinion and he/she will have to eat crow down the road when Kris is the bigger more long lasting star. Hyperbole isn’t just reserved for fandoms.

It’s all circular. You keep calling someone a big success, then someone else picks up on it and the story keeps snowballing. (Sort of like the way Fox “news” makes stories out of half truths and the other news networks pick up on it and repeat it over and over until no one can remember what’s true and what isn’t.) And, the media never likes to be wrong.

Seriously what happened to RedOne? That was one of Adam’s big collaborators from the beginning. I’d much rather have a few RedOne tracks than Cavallo tracks, not sorry to say.

I think strut might be a redone song. it was much earlier on when he was working with redone.

I always find it funny when journalists declare someone a smashing success (in Idol) over someone else when they haven’t even done anything yet. It really will takes a few years to figure that out.

Ah. Well, my take is that there are only 4 songs that people know for sure are on it. The TfM and the 3 that Lyndsey reviewed (which we knew nothing about until her review).

I think TfM is a bonus track and won’t count toward the 12.

LLWD peaked at #24 for a while then slid down and it sold 30,000 the first (half) week, so I’ll guess 150,000 for TFM. It’s just my uneducated wild guess.

That’s not going to happen. Not this week.

Time for Miracles has been all over the map this week, so it’s tough to predict. It will probably be in the 60-75K range (a couple of days in the top 10, a couple of days in the average mid-teens, a couple of days in the average mid-20s). A few weeks ago, Glee got two songs into the top 9 and 10 positions and held them a little longer and they did 74K and 63K respectively. Maybe TfM will go as high as 80K. It’s really hard to tell with Pop bars and the changing fortunes of the chart each week.

I’m expecting this album to have pretty, uplifting, positive or defiant lyrics and will be very disappointed if the ballads have painful lyrics.

I don’t want painful, but maybe eerie and ghostlike? Maybe Ring of Fire-ish is what I’m thinking (the wailing/keening part).

Trying to remember if this song had a descriptor – was it the floating in space one or the loaded smile one? I might be mixing up the Linda Perry and the Pink songs. Obviously my brain is scrambled tonight; I need to sleep.

Eta: I do want the Linda Perry song on the CD, especially if it’s a haunting ballady type song. Thinking ‘beautiful’.

Eeep. I hope nothing like that makes the album. I’m good with the ballady bit, just not with the depressing. I think you are going way too high on that one, Archie went straight to n °1 with Crush and sold 160,000 first week.
If I had to put an over/under, I would put it at 80, 000.

And I think you’re wrong, Kris sold 15,000 for his first half week.

TFM is now #24 on itunes, it has stayed very high on itunes for 4 days and now is slowly falling, wonder how many will he sell first week and how much the This Is It premiere will affect the charts.

I just know that Adam only gets 12 album tracks and that there have been a lot of songs people seem to be sure will make the album, with no mention of a RedOne track or title yet

All the others have been talked about but not necessarily by anyone deciding which ones will make the album. They’re going to be looking at which ones best serve the album as whole, best represent a type of sound for Adam to take forward.

Even if the songs are good and people are confident, it doesn’t mean they’ll make the album. While I personally think that neither Strut nor the Red One tracks will make the album, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. They were recorded early in the process and Adam and Co might not have figured out the type of sound they were going for. But it’s all speculation. Don’t give up hope yet. Quiet does not mean off the album.

My impression of him at the time was that he lacked certain social graces and seemed to think he was above criticism from anyone.
