“Crush” by David Archuleta. No matter what type of music you like, it’s hard to not like this infectious ode to teenage love. The “American Idol” runner-up has a beautiful and soulful voice put on display in this song and is already steadily rising through the Top 20 ranks. I hesitated even bringing him up here ’cause I’d just as soon not create any more grief for little D’Archie à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’  who is like a  ¾-scale exact replica of my neighbor Eric, right down to the unabashed glee at the mere sight of Natasha Bedingfield (pictured).

The blonde Brit actually sang about her “Pocketful of Sunshine” two-and-a-quarter times last night. In her first take, she flubbed her lyrics before she’d even hit the chorus and had to start over. “It’s a good thing I’m not one of those guys,” she joked, pointing to the Idol contestants. “Brooke White is not alone,” echoed Debbie, which was funny, but, jeez, will this woman ever be able to live her “You Must Love Me” reboot down? (The answer, of course, is no.) Natasha B.’s second take was great à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’  or, to judge the look on D’Archie’s face, super-fantastically-oh-my-gosh!-amazingeriffic. Or, to judge the look on Castro’s face…um… yawn. (The woman sitting next to me pointed that that Castro is always yawning, and once she did, I realized that every fourth time I looked at the guy, yep, yawn. It was uncanny.) After she’d finished, Ryan began bantering with her about kissing each other on the mouth, until Debbie stepped up to them and Ryan said, “And here’s comes Debbie to tell me not to kiss anyone.” Fortunately for Whitney, Debbie actually was telling them they had to shoot Natasha’s song for a third time.

This time, Ryan introduced the singer without first pointing out that D’Archie had a huge “professional” crush on her, she sang for a second-and-a-quarter time, and Castro even managed to clap, though only barely, drag his hands across each other in such a way that it looked like Nigel’d tied fishing line to them and was making him clap like a dreadlocked marionette

I have read both articles, and I cant get to the same conclusion of the sequence of events that you did…I get that Ryan forgot to mention David`s crush in her third intent taping the song and that she did hug him for her own initiative… but this is normal, to people can read different things in the same paragraph…

I do know that even before that night Natasha appear at TRL and she was asked about David A because he had told in interview that he will like to make a duet with her and she said that “she loved him and his voice, that he remember her of his brother when he (Daniel Bedingfield) was his age”, she told that she was part of the audience of one of the episodes this last season and that Archie and Carly were saying hi to her from the stage… at this moment the guy on TRl ask her if she though that Archie was going to win, and she answer that she though Archie was gonna win… Im looking for the video in youtube because I swear I saw it there, but I cant find it…If I find it I will post it here…

Anyway, so glad for David. He adores Natasha and good he is hanging out with big names on Dec 11.

The blog I actually read around the time of the show was written by a person who was more focused on the fact that Natasha kept screwing up, but I can’t find that one.

gabam, at the time Natasha guest starred on AI, someone blogged or wrote an article about the taping of this particular episode and noted that AI had to do several takes of Natasha coming over to hug Archie because Natasha kept on forgetting to do it after her song (which I think she also did twice because she messed up on the song as well).

It’s pretty cool that Natasha and Archie are on the same bill since she’s a fan. I remember when she was a guest on AI and said that she wanted to give David a hug. She did not specify which David. When she came near the Idols, Cook stood up but she was there to hug Archie. Awkward!!! LOL.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know a little more on what’s going on lately. Today I’m in Pittsburgh for the radio promo tour, and I just have a few interviews to do while I’m here. It started Monday in San Diego. I love San Diego, but I was bummed when I heard Tokio Hotel was going to be at the station I was at that same day! I had to leave for Seattle before they got there, which was too bad lol. They’re really different but I like that about them. So then to Seattle, and after that Milwaukee (where Mietra was born lol.) Oh and by the way she’s NOT my girlfriend! I know a lot of people still think that, but…. that’s pretty much like marrying your cousin. She’s really cool and fun to hang out with since she gets along with a lot of people, but we don’t dig each other like that haha. But I got to hang out with her, Fish (the one who started calling me lettuce boy), and a bunch of other people while I had a couple of days off in Utah last week.

Solution is for me just not to read the comments. Kinda surprised that EW has readers who can be so nasty and vicious.

That’s probably a good idea. I don’t know if this is your first Idol fan war, but these things have become a yearly tradition. Round two of this season’s “battle” is just getting started, and it’s only going to get uglier once their albums are released. Like MJ said, that comments section probably isn’t moderated so obnoxious fans on both sides will inevitably show up with their equally obnoxious comments. I really do think that there are some fans who just get off on that sort of thing and enjoy having an “enemy” to hate on.

Okay, I’m calm. I did want to discuss this: DC says the video is about “boy meets girl-boy wants girl-boy eventually gets girl”– so does this confirm to us that the premise of the video is basically what Mika described? And is the vignette/multiple storyline theory sufficiently debunked? I just want to temper my expectations… although that might not be possible if I keep watching those little performance clips. WOW! I *never* buy music videos on iTunes because I think $2 is a waste of money for 4 minutes of video that I can stream on youtube… but I think I might have to get this one! No fuzzy youtube clip for that– I want to see it in HD!
