Whatever Happened To Panda Ross? Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’ Boo Speaks – Well, Yahoo! is happy and relieved to report that Panda is alive and well–and 60 pounds slimmer, thanks to recent gastric bypass surgery–and she did recover from her illness in time to attend to Boot Camp. But why wasn’t her time at Boot Camp shown? That’s a bigger mystery. “I’m so glad that you asked that question, because I’m wondering the same thing. Like, what happened?” says Panda in an exclusive Reality Rocks interview, discussing her bizarre lack of screentime this season. “But to be honest, my friend kind of pre-warned me that I might not get shown much. She said, ‘Panda, don’t get upset if you don’t see yourself on TV, because you have a personality that’s larger than life. So if they were to continue to show you on the show–and you’re not the person that they’re hoping to have win–they wouldn’t want it to turn from the X Factor Show to the Panda Ross Show!'” – Read more at

That interview with Demi Lovato is kinda interesting. It says that she revealed a fav of hers that is NOT in her category. Jennel. But um, she is LOL Unless, Jennel gets the boot next week?

  • Larc

Only one day each of auditions in front of the judges in San Antonio and Oklahoma City?  That will cover all the audition cities except LA.

  • Jordana33

I think Entertainmentwise made the mistake. They assumed that Demi chose someone outside her team because they didn’t have Jennel listed in the top six (they only listed 5 contestants). They completely misunderstood the original Hollywoodlife article:

  • OffLeash

Thanks for clearing it up. It would’ve been totally inappropriate if it had been true IMO.

  • lovesickheroine

Phillips album is already available for preorder on Amazon and the album title is  The World From the Side of The Moon (lol it’s more like a movie title)

  • OffLeash

Unexpected but interesting title. Black Friday here we come! I’m getting really excited about the new album. I need snippets NOW.

  • lovesickheroine

Amazon says his album will be released on Nov 19 so why haven’t the label released a single yet? I have a feeling they will just use Home as the single

  • Kesia Monteith

Hmmm, not a bad title. Long, but nice.

  • OffLeash

It’s quite possible, especially that Home is still going strong sales wise and is beginning to get some real traction on HAC and AAA, although still too slow on Top 40. Not a bad solution, then they can release a new single as soon as Home loses steam.

  • ?Let’s Run Away?

Demi may be telling us that the Xfactor may have a little twist coming up, like Jennel Garcia either gets the boot and then get called back or she gets moved to a different judge…or both

I wonder if The World From The Other Side of The Moon is an actual track on Phillip’s CD.  And could it possibly be the follow-up single to Home.

  • sdmama

The title feels like U2, in a good way. I am pleasantly surprised. But I can see this coming from Phillip, who seems to be marching to his drum beat. With a name like Phillip Phillips, I would have gone for self titled album. LOL. (but it was probably taken, anyway…)
I see Home getting more spins on radio. This probably was an unexpected turn of event that coronation song has such a long leg. There is no proof that next single will do better than Home, I would stick with Home to push the album. None of the radio stations in my area played it a single time, there are more radio stations to convert with Home.

Only one more month to launch, and no leak, no review. Maybe his album will review at  only #10, but stay there for weeks and weeks until it will hit gold. I will keep my finger crossed.

  • OffLeash

    You’re probably right.

  • OffLeash

What we’ve seen with Home is that it was in for the long run, so, like you, I’m not worried about first week sales, I have a feeling it’s gonna follow the same pattern. P2’s marching to his own drums in more ways than one, sales pattern included LOL.

  • fuzzywuzzy

“Of course, I’m rooting for the people in my category but in particular
probably the one I’m rooting for the most may be Jennel Garcia. She’s

I agree with Demi. Jennel’s my favorite in her group too.

They’re still doing the final recordings.  Probably down to 2 more songs now.  I agree, it will be to Phillip’s benefit that he builds momentum as he goes along.  Instead of having a mega debut week and then continue to decline after that.

Of the 11 winners, he will certainly has the most memorable CD title.

  • suenigma

Hmmm, a little reminiscent of Cook’s track from his first post-idol album, Life on the Moon.

  • jpfan2

Interesting title. Will the music be poetic or pretentious? We’ll find out soon and I’m happy the album is dropping in a month. Considering he just finished recording the vocals that seems really fast!

    Kris Allen ?@KrisAllen
Gettin some help from this guy recording some Christmas songs for you guys.

  • Pippygirl

    Who is that? Andrew maybe?

Love that Elise Testone is keeping busy.  What a sweetie for walking for Brain Tumor cure research.

She was part of the Columbus Day festivities and sang at the annual Columbus Citizens Foundation Gala in NYC.  Elise tweeted that she sang at the Gala – At Last (became Etta James signature song) and All Of Me (Frank Sinatra has a really cool cover of this song).  I know Elise’s renditions were beautiful.  I did hear her sing Vienna in the Columbus Day Parade and that was heavenly.

I am ready for Elise to give Whole Lotta Love a rest.  She is so much more than that song.  It was magic on Idol but it is time to move on.  I’m ready for some Elise originals.

  • Chris

A Donny Osmond duet and Bristol Palin on DWTS? Do they really think this is the solution to ratings? Bleh. Definitely not watching this week.

  • teekee

Congrats to Kinnik Sky! Wondered what hapened to her. She was a really good singer, in a season with too many big voices who got  screen time.

  • girlygirltoo

unless they stick her in one of the manufactured groups (which wouldn’t be fair to the other eliminated contestants), there’s no way she could be moved to another judge, as she’s too old for the “teens” and too young for the “over 25s”. I would think the original article was simply misinterpreted.

  • girlygirltoo

I’ve lost track of how many ex-Idols are releasing Christmas music this year. I know:

Mandisa’s Christmas album is already out
Scotty’s Christmas album is available to preorder
    James is recording Christmas song(s)
    Kris is recording Kris song(s)

    who else?

  • Tyson

“Fair” isn’t important.  Ratings and money are important.  If Simon and Company think Jennel will generate better numbers as part of a group, she’ll be moved–even at this late date.

Randy Jackson popped up at the Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Kentucky football game in Fayetteville, AR last night. Apparently he led the Hog Call at halftime. No clue what else he was doing.

  • Kariann Hart

That is so great that Kinnik Sky receives those nominations.  She sounds very intelligent and talented.  Wonder if she ever runs into Gedeon or Toddrick?  It’s nice to hear this news as it proves American Idol opens up doors to contestants even if they are the winner.

  • girlygirltoo

It’s against the rules to throw her in another category willy nilly. They could bring Melanie back because they kept her in the same category she was already in. They didn’t really disrupt anything — they just gave that category one more person.  That’s the only thing they could do with Jannel, just give that Young Adults category one more contestant going forward to the live shows. You can’t put an 18-year-old girl in the 12-16 category or the over-25 category. You could plunk her in one of the manufactured groups, but then you risk totally screwing up what little chemistry those groups have, not to mention ticking off everyone else in the group. That would just be totally uncomfortable.

And honestly, it’s not like she is this extraordinary performer who’s guaranteed to be a star. She is a good singer with a shy personality when she isn’t performing and an annoying habit of flipping her hair way too much. In my opinion, she doesn’t deserve any more special consideration than anyone else who has made it this far on the show. If she’s cut, she’s cut. That’s the way it goes.

  • girlygirltoo

Hopefully for sale. The fans would love it, and honestly, he needs to make himself some money.

  • KelseyW

Yay! It’s about time that Kris released some Christmas music. I know it probably won’t happen, but I hope whatever he releases is available to buy as a physical EP/album.

I would love some Halloween music from him too. The odds of that happening are slim though.
