I like her cd but I feel that her talent is being wasted to some extent by channeling her into this ultra-pop path. And highlighting and submitting the song that sounds like Beyonce’s song is kind of awkward.

So tomorrow, well tomorrow still in my timezone, the Roadblock thing will be airing, so bets on whether TFM is part of it? I am not feeling optimistic (I know, radical change of pace for me) so I’ll say it’s not. Just ‘cuz and because I won’t be as disappointed if it’s not part of it. Though of course my inner fangurrl hopes that it will be part of it.

Also, supposed ‘Adam storm’  not happening yet, amuses me.

I think people who already saw it in other timezones said TFM is NOT in the roadblock, but may still be in the comcast extra footage (maybe…)

And as for Adam Storm – yeah, my original interpretation of elephant1212 was that it was coming in the next few weeks (this was said last week), so that easily could have been this week, or next week. I’m betting on next week. And I think we won’t get much (similar to Kris) until mid-October when they actually have some more “finished product” available.

The most puzzling factor to me is the popularity of the show in some Asian countries, like the Phillipines, maybee it’s linked to Jasmine Trias success there?

It’s the English speaking thing. The Philippines was a U.S. colony and then U.S. territory for a long, long time. English is taught as early as first grade (or even earlier) and all American network TV is shown and not subtitled (because the populace doesn’t need it).

Keel, you are correct, that is part of it. We do watch a lot of American shows (and without subtitles). The other part of it (at least in the Philippines) is that we looooooove singing contests and cheesy entertainment, LOL. Jasmine Trias and another Filipina from Hawaii in that season did their part in making people more aware of AI, but regardless, I think AI would still be popular here.

My belated thanks for the expressions of concern in earlier threads about flood-stricken residents of Manila and surrounding provinces, and for posting ways to help. I am among the lucky ones who experienced scary driving and inconvenient stranding only.

The publicity that Adam has gotten has been generated by the fans, and then the media, starting with our own mj, commenting on it and it being picked up from here and going forth. By the way, congrats to mj for the article (sorry your editor felt the need to add in that random Kris snark) and what you’ve said, though not usually attributed to you, being carried to so many outlets.
