As for Anoop, I was just talking about him with someone. He has a beautiful voice. The problem is finding a place for him in the industry. I don’t think the r&b genre is very accepting of idols, let alone ones that don’t come in the traditional r&b package.

Has there ever been any talk of labels being interested in Anoop? It almost seems like I heard something about it at one point in the tour, and then never really heard anyting else.

I mean, I don’t know. Anoop is very tight-lipped about this sort of thing, but he says he doesn’t have a deal, is hopeful, but generally seems to be in good spirits despite the uncertainty. Makes me think he’s got something up that sleeve of his.

and Anoop fitting into R&B is sort of the big question..but I want to say that he may have met Ne-Yo- he’s never said it in an interview, but I think aaron was working with him and Anoop asked if he could meet him. (Anoop does stuff like that, it’s cute.)

I mean, realistically, he placed 6th, has sort of a nerdy collegiate indian thing going on for him and his attitude/personality seems a bit ill-fitting for R&B, and he’s lacking in stage presence/charisma… but he seems very confident and hopeful, so I’m just going to mirror his attitude about it. He knows what he’s capable of better than I do.

Squirrely, I noticed that Lil Wayne is no longer listed for November 24th. Has his album been postponed you think? I thought the 24th was a definite for him.

Wow – very interesting. So, Adam is still going up against Su-Bo – which believe it or not (and I almost can’t believe it) appears to be his biggest competition. Kris, meanwhile has some killer competition, especially with John Mayer.

However, I will be honest when I say, even as an Adam fan, that Kris’s first single is really really catchy and seems to be already popular, so I think it will do very well with airplay and that can make all the difference for getting people stoked for the album

OUCH’ ¦Has Kris not done a photo shoot yet?? On that USA Today music calendar, when you click on this name, his page has a big ‘PHOTO NOT AVAILABLE’  instead of his picture. JIVE get busy and get them a photo!!

Hmm – you know, that’s true – I don’t remember hearing about him doing a photo shoot. Yeah, what’s with that! Especially since he has an even earlier release than Adam.

I think Danny just wants to sing music that he enjoys. I also think that he likes more than just one type of music. I do agree that the country tag may feel to him like something that he doesn’t naturally fit into, and that may be where the uneasiness comes in. He doesn’t see himself as ‘country’ , and I can understand that. He’s not country. But I still contend that he loves those types of inspirational emotive songs. It’s just that the genre that they happen to currently fall under is country.

Anoop doesn’t have as many options, won’t be as popular, but he’s not going to do the one that may “technically” fit rather than what he really loves. I mean, a lot of people were wondering if he could be successful in bollywood, but he’s not going to do that. And people are wondering if he’s going to be able to pull off R&B, but he’s going to do it regardless.

I just really admire that about Anoop.

Aek- the real world started for the idols now.No more idol bubble,lots of people go to the idol concert every year and back there favorite.That doesn’t mean shit in the real music world.The show will start in jan. and they will have a new idol they back and go see on tour.

I agree with you Steve. It’s just that at this moment in time, all the former “idols” really have is their American Idol fame. They haven’t really put out any music. So I’m saying that any concert they do before they put out their own music, is pretty much based on the name they made for themselves on Idol.

But yeah, once they get their music out there, it’s pretty much the real world that they have to either sink or swim in. And for AI peeps that world can really be pretty harsh.

Well danny will need to worry if he can’t sell out MSMC concert on sept.27.They opened it up to the public all ready.The question would be if it was kris,adam or allison would it of sold out fast and never got opened the the public?It is only 1100 seats.

Well, Steve, by all accounts Danny has been more popular on tour than Allison, and somtimes more popular than Kris. I went to three concerts, and Danny was very well received at all three of them. Definately a better reception than for Allison, and while I was hesitant to try to distinguish between Kris and Danny (because I’m biased and so didn’t trust myself), my sister (total Adam fan) was adamant that Danny got the second most applause at two of the concerts. No doubt Adam is by far the most popular idol this year.

So if Danny has trouble selling it out, then I would assume Allison and perhaps even Kris would run into some of the same problems, given similar promotion. I hope this doesn’t mean bad things for all three of them.

I really hope that they will all be successful, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I bet it sells out, but I agree, I will worry about Danny’s future if is doesn’t sellout. That’s a pretty small venue.
