Toscano to sing at 9/11 Mets-Cubs game

Pia Toscano returns to Citi Field on Sunday night. The Queens native and “American Idol” alum will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch of the nationally televised Mets-Cubs game as part of the home team’s 9/11 observance.

‘American Idol’s’ Scotty McCreery: Apple pie, Tim McGraw fan

When we got to know 17-year-old Scotty McCreery on season 10 of “American Idol, ” he struck us as an all American kid and all-around nice guy. Based on his answers to our Celeb Slam Book questions (below), we’re now convinced we were right. I mean, the guy even lists “apple pie” as his favorite food.

The “Idol” winner, currently touring with the top 11 contestants, took time out of his busy schedule to tell us which celebrity left him starstruck, what he’d like to do if he wasn’t busy building a country music career and what recent box office hit made him “tear up.”

Exclusive: Simon Fuller bids for publisher Bug Music

American Idol creator Simon Fuller is among parties in the final stages of bidding for Los Angeles music publisher Bug Music, according to three people familiar with the process.

Bug, which is owned by private equity firm Spectrum Equity Investors, is expected to fetch bids starting in the high $200 millions to $300 million range, according to two of the people.

Fuller’s XIX Entertainment, BMG Music and Ole Music are among second-round bidders for the publisher whose 250, 000-strong catalog of songs includes Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life” and the Drifters hit “Under the Boardwalk.”

Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias record new duet

The singers have teamed up with producer DJ Frank E – who has previously worked with Iglesias on ‘Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You)’ – for the track.

The DJ announced the news via his official Twitter page earlier today. He wrote: “New Enrique and J Lo coming soon!!”

In the first interview with “Extra” since his split with Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony tells AJ Calloway he will always be friends with Lopez, saying, “She’s great and that’ll never change.”

Since his appearance on ABC’s “Nightline, ” Anthony continues to praise the mother of his children and reveals, “We’re going to be in each other’s lives for many, many years, and I’m glad our friendship is that strong. We got 80 years of seeing each other, we got kids, you know what I’m saying?”

Simon Cowell: I Had a “Bizarre” Blind Date With Denise Richards

“She’s cute, ” the British X-Factor judge and producer, 51, told Stern of the 40-year-old actress and reality star. The pair were set up by mutual pals to meet at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, Cowell explained.

One major catch? “She turned up 8 months pregnant and had a dog in her handbag, ” Cowell said. (Richards gave birth to two daughters with ex-husband Charlie Sheen: Sam, 7, and Lola, 6; she adopted infant daughter Eloise Joni over the summer.)
