Impossible to tell who has more fans, even if we knew the actual votes throughout the season. It’s not one vote per fan, lots of fans don’t vote, and some of us are fans of them both, so time will tell how this all shakes out for them down the road.

I’m just hoping for some good music, keeping in mind how quickly these CDs are being slapped together, and even better things from them both in the future.

TWOP is NOT a fansite.The individual threads for the contestants may get more input from fans of the said contestant, but there are stringent rules about fantarding.

There are definite, HUGE stylistic differences between them, of course, but a lot of similarities too. I considered both to be, in their respective years, the most commanding and confident performers of their group. Also, some of the more relevant and modern. JMO.

If you are going to check out the list, definitely check out Geoff Tate from Queensryche. Not only does he have excellent range, but he also is very theatrical. The album Operation Mindcrime is a rock opera concept album, and to me one of the best albums of all time. They used to perform it in it’s entirety in concert.

Q3- I definitely agree with you about Prog rock. That is the direction I hope he goes in, and I am sure he could add a little electronica too that, it would be similar to the heavy keyboards and drums of the 70′s ( the group YES). I think Mars Volta is probably the best example of prog rock out there today, and Adam reminds me a lot of them, when they aren’t being completely out there.

I don’t know if I would agree that Alt rock has gone corporate, but it has become more mainstream. Alot of emo and screamo bands are classified alt now because the masses are discovering them more. I would say Alt rock is everything that is not straightforward rock or light rock ( Daughtry, Cook, Hinder, Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, Nickleback, etc.).

I would love to find a website that discusses rock genres. It has so many gray areas it would be fun to debate it.

Is there a gate? I’m struggling to stay awake and still have 3 hours of proofreading left (hey, it’s only 2 am). I need something to keep me awake and unfortunately Cookie’s green man performance has lost it’s ability to jolt me back to clear brain awake-ness, lol.

Why should Kris who presumably has more fans and therefore won by landslide (by some accounts anyway) not be expected to sell more?

Kris, as the winner, is supposed to sell more. But I don’t remember seeing a runner up with Adam’s buzz, so perhaps that’s tempering people’s willingness to declare Kris a failure if he doesn’t outsell Adam. Just my opinion, of course. I survived the Davids last summer… and learned that it was pointless to speculate because nobody has a clue what the albums will be like. Well, pointless but I guess fun sometimes to discuss it.

I am perceiving the same reality as you! I wondered too why no one talks about it here. Maybe no one wants to go there (potential fan war), again?

Honestly, I don’t care which one of the two, Adam or Kris, sells more albums as long as I get the music I like to hear in the end. I want Adam to do well because I like his soaring style and charisma and if he does well, then I will continue to get the kind of music I like, which is good. It is all about me, ahem.
(Shoot, CindyM beat me to it about Kris selling expectations. But I am still going to post to re-emphcize the point.)

Anyway, I was also surprised to see Perry and Plant lower(ish) on the list and I’m starting to check out the people I’ve never heard of ‘ ¦ who were ranked higher. Could be a kind of fun chance to learn something.
(Now she hides her face because she feels like a nerd.)(But ‘ ¦ but ‘ ¦ I still like the hair’ ¦ and the blue boas ‘ ¦ really I do).

Hey folks, ‘Damon Kruezer’  ‘” real name Kent Barclay ‘” is a pathetic lying POS, and I say that with some authority. If you Google him you will discover many blogs that are devoted to exposing him. He is nothing but an internet troll. He will NOT be getting an interview with Adam or Kris or anybody else.
