"Honestly, I don't care which one of the two, Adam or Kris, sells more albums as long as I get the music I like to hear in the end."

This. And, I hope that they both can have successful careers, because I think that they both deserve it.

Impossible to tell who has more fans, even if we knew the actual votes throughout the season. It's not one vote per fan, lots of fans don't vote, and some of us are fans of them both, so time will tell how this all shakes out for them down the road.

I'm just hoping for some good music, keeping in mind how quickly these CDs are being slapped together, and even better things from them both in the future.

And that boy lies; he can dance.

Yes he can. Remember the You Tube Video of his "Make 'Em Laugh" performance? Yes, some of that was pratfalls but you also have to have some good dancing skills to pull that off. Remember the original person who did that routine was one of the world's legendary hoofers Donald O'Conner.

I read all kinds of blogs, but I never go to fansites (unless you call TWOP a fansite).

I do. They are in denial when they say otherwise.

Well they have more strict guidelines than in other forums and their mods are pretty rigorous. I think the conversations tend to be a little more elaborate than the usual.

Have you been banned from there? I red that a lot of Cook fans did.

TWOP is NOT a fansite. The individual threads for the contestants may get more input from fans of the said contestant, but there are stringent rules about fantarding.

And I'm not surprised (@ bolded) if that happened.Kookiness in AI fandome has many levels

Kind of late to respond here - but just reading the tour reviews, I think this is the first time I've heard Adam and Chris Daughtry compared so closely - not that I'm completely against the comparisons (the idea of Adam reaching Chris's success would be a dream to me!).

There are definite, HUGE stylistic differences between them, of course, but a lot of similarities too. I considered both to be, in their respective years, the most commanding and confident performers of their group. Also, some of the more relevant and modern. JMO.

Studio57 - not sure if this is what you're looking for, but moving back to the main thread list on http://forums.nutsie.com/index.php I see they have a section for rock'n'roll styles also. We've been looking at the Vocalists / Frontmen section of Rock Performers.

Anyway, I was also surprised to see Perry and Plant lower(ish) on the list and I'm starting to check out the people I've never heard of ' ¦ who were ranked higher.

If you are going to check out the list, definitely check out Geoff Tate from Queensryche. Not only does he have excellent range, but he also is very theatrical. The album Operation Mindcrime is a rock opera concept album, and to me one of the best albums of all time. They used to perform it in it's entirety in concert.

Q3- I definitely agree with you about Prog rock. That is the direction I hope he goes in, and I am sure he could add a little electronica too that, it would be similar to the heavy keyboards and drums of the 70's ( the group YES). I think Mars Volta is probably the best example of prog rock out there today, and Adam reminds me a lot of them, when they aren't being completely out there.

I don't know if I would agree that Alt rock has gone corporate, but it has become more mainstream. Alot of emo and screamo bands are classified alt now because the masses are discovering them more. I would say Alt rock is everything that is not straightforward rock or light rock ( Daughtry, Cook, Hinder, Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, Nickleback, etc.).

I would love to find a website that discusses rock genres. It has so many gray areas it would be fun to debate it.

Sorry tierbee I didn't mean there was a gate today

Hehe, I was just teasing, I have been getting ~3 hrs of sleep a night trying to meet a proofreading deadline and I'm so tired, I need amusement. Proofreading a lecture about oats and barley... is not good for 2:50 am, lol.

I guess I will mosey on over to the live concert thread now and see if there is any new '”gate' ¦again' ¦

Is there a gate? I'm struggling to stay awake and still have 3 hours of proofreading left (hey, it's only 2 am). I need something to keep me awake and unfortunately Cookie's green man performance has lost it's ability to jolt me back to clear brain awake-ness, lol.

Why should Kris who presumably has more fans and therefore won by landslide (by some accounts anyway) not be expected to sell more?

Kris, as the winner, is supposed to sell more. But I don't remember seeing a runner up with Adam's buzz, so perhaps that's tempering people's willingness to declare Kris a failure if he doesn't outsell Adam. Just my opinion, of course. I survived the Davids last summer... and learned that it was pointless to speculate because nobody has a clue what the albums will be like. Well, pointless but I guess fun sometimes to discuss it.

So, it is for real then ' ¦ and my computer isn't stuck in some kind of loop.
Yay.
I think so too aa618892

I am perceiving the same reality as you! I wondered too why no one talks about it here. Maybe no one wants to go there (potential fan war), again?

-Why should Kris who presumably has more fans and therefore won by landslide (by some accounts anyway) not be expected to sell more? Back-pedalling now that pressure on perhaps? Honestly, I don't care which one of the two, Adam or Kris, sells more albums as long as I get the music I like to hear in the end. I want Adam to do well because I like his soaring style and charisma and if he does well, then I will continue to get the kind of music I like, which is good. It is all about me, ahem.
(Shoot, CindyM beat me to it about Kris selling expectations. But I am still going to post to re-emphcize the point.)

Hey folks, 'Damon Kruezer' '” real name Kent Barclay '” is a pathetic lying POS, and I say that with some authority. If you Google him you will discover many blogs that are devoted to exposing him. He is nothing but an internet troll. He will NOT be getting an interview with Adam or Kris or anybody else.

Thanks for the info!
