Especially that a few months prior she put her hand over Regis’s mouth in the same fashion. I hope they are respectful to him (looking at you Joy) I hope he also gets to sing.

Yeah for Adam but a double yeah for Allison. She look to be moving up nice and slow but UP! I hope DWTP picks up more as weeks go on and she eventually gets the recognition she so deserves. I would be happy she gets a top 20 out of the song. It really is a great song. I find myself unintentional humming the song more then the others even Adam’s If I Had You…which I also find myself humming or singing out of the clear blue.

Oh and a big :-) that Kris’s Heartless is still on the pop chart. Nice numbers for The Truth but not as good as I would like but they are really not pushing Pop right now with the song. Hopefully it will break into the top 50 before the end of the week.

It’s as if she won American Idol or something ;D But seriously, it was really cute and sweet – I may actually have to watch the Miss America pageant now. Of course, if anyone starts writing an article about how an “American Idol reject” is in the running for Miss America, I think it would be damaging to both shows. She was a “semi-finalist,” and I hope the non-Idol world continues to use that term.

That leaves one last date where another concert could fit in: Sept. 7. That would make his schedule complete, and no possible way he could book another date unless he ends up playing six in a row. His schedule has him playing two or three days in a row with a day off in between.

So on 9/5 he is in Peoria, IL, and 9/8 in Houston. What city do you think he might do between those cities?

They just announced this date this morning. Last week they announced the Hard Rock Live performance in Hollywood Florida. Maybe you’re confusing the two?

There are 3 google news items on this concert, all within the last 5 hours. It wasn’t on AdamOfficial or Ticketmaster yesterday.

So on 9/5 he is in Peoria, IL, and 9/8 in Houston. What city do you think he might do between those cities?

The logical answer to that is Dallas! But I wonder if there might be some sort of agreement with the Win Star Casino in Thackerville, OK, that he won’t perform in a city they will probably be hoping to draw from for his show there on the 10th. Thackerville is less than 85 miles from Dallas.

I’m excited to see Brittany get the spotlight for Britney covers on Glee! I don’t remember any number where she was the lead vocalist (maybe I forgot?), but I’m looking forward to this show!

Brittany gets some of the best one-liners on Glee. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her sing lead either.

Debating whether to get tickets from StubHub to see Gaga next month. I already bought tickets for next year. Do I want to wait eight months? The lower seating really isn’t that much more than what I paid for Adam’s tickets.

It was strange; has anyone heard of this or is it some scam trying to get something?

What does everyone think of Bret Michaels? I know zip about him.

Well, I watched him on Celebrity Apprentice and really liked him as a person. He came off as being very smart and creative.

Besides being smart and creative, Bret was totally hilarious. He has a lot of personality. I think he would be a great judge.

I just read this. That’s awesome. It confirms what I always thought about Crystal… she doesn’t want to be a big star necessarily, she just wants to provide a living for herself and her son through music. And you know what? Odds a very good that Idol will give her that ability, even if ends up being at a smaller level. She’s already got what she wanted. I am so happy for her. :)

I love Bret Michaels, I think he’s amazing and would be great as a judge on American Idol. That being said, I hope he takes care of his health first and foremost – he’s got two kids, he needs to be here for them.

That’s kind of how I’ve been feeling about her for a while now. I passed on her concert cuz I wasn’t sure how I felt about her, despite liking a lot of her songs and recognizing her talent. I’m waiting for her second album, honestly, to see how I feel about her longevity/progression. There are lots of fun/kitschy concerts at clubs by lesser known bands that won’t cost $300 plus. Of Montreal is touring… I’m excited to see them again soon. They’re crazy fun. Will probably pay $30 and push my way to the front =P.

ETA: But of course, go see Gaga if you really love her– this is just how I feel. I’ve never paid that much to see anyone, or traveled for a concert (excepting music festivals), but if it’s worth it to you, definitely go and enjoy yourself!

I’ve heard some good things about Of Montreal, I need to check them out.

Lady Gaga live is pretty amazing and the new show is not stale in any way. Here public image is a bit stale and the music from Fame and Fame Monster has be played to death, but she has put together one I the best live shows I have seen in years.

If you are a fan, and can afford it, go for it. Otherwise you are always going to wonder — what if….

I think it is a matter of overexposure. She needs to finish touring and take some time out of the public eye, even if it is a few months. AND stop releasing music to the radio. It sounds like a strange thing to say, but you gotta leave them wanting more. There are groups coming up behind her that can fill her place for a bit.

Me too, but I’m sure it’s over by now. It doesn’t take that long, and it’s an outpatient procedure. But they put you out so when you awake you’re loopy & on drugs for the pain. I’m watching my athletic friend at work recover from this exact injury right now. No driving or any pressure on the foot for a month, in a cast/crutches, then physical therapy for a long time. Horrible.

I had the opportunity to see Gaga last May, in a small club before the big tour and missed it because of work. I’m still kicking myself. And she’s not coming to my area and the show is so huge, I’m not sure I’ll go to another town to see her.

But I do agree she needs some rest. But touring through next April, doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon. If she doesn’t kill herself on the stage.

yup — that’s what I thought. that McCartney was playing a much bigger venue. It was just a silly note I threw in to the post since the BNL/Kris show is sold out. I wonder if Kris tried to find a way to meet up with his idol since they are both in town. That would be so cool if he was able to meet his favorite Beatle.

No, the single is being released and you can preorder the album when it releases on his site.

The single is due out next Tuesday, but the album isn’t set to drop until September 14th. However, the album will be available for preorder at Archie’s official site next week at the same time as the single. If you preorder the album, the lead single will download immediately. They will announce another incentive to buy the album from the official site. So far no news on what that incentive is. Perhaps something involving the music video.

No, the album is not due out in 2 weeks. I think you are thinking about the pre-order of the album. Fans can pre-order the album on July 20 and receive the song as an instant downland.

After today, Adam would have completed 1/3 of his No. American tour. I still think he might add one more which would make it a nice round 75 dates. It does not look like he will be playing in LA at the end because after his last date in the US, he has about a week and a half before he leaves for his overseas tour. Just barely enough time for a short vacation.

I don’t think any of the real contenders walk in thinking they are going to uber stars. Real contenders know that it is hard work, lots of promotion & lots of time away from loved ones. IMO uber success happens over time. Each new level they get to they grow into. As an example: to me Kris seemed to me the least comfortable winner ever and has very much grown into the spotlight. As his comfort has increased, my respect for him has increased.

With that said. I didn’t read anything very much about what she considers success in her musical career, but rather how she defines life success (which I completely agree with). Is she hoping for more than an album and a few gigs? Its not like she really needs to define anything really. Its not our business, however I don’t think she said enough for us to extrapolate that she doesn’t want to be a ‘star’ (using this term loosely).

Plus, right now she is still in the bubble, mostly meaning here that any kind of uber success is still in the horizon. Her life will go into the fast as soon as she cuts an album and starts promoting it… and still it won’t be all on her own terms, she’ll need to answer to the label and to 19. But that is the future, who really knows what will happen.

As far as Alex goes… he is so not getting uber star promotion, as far as I am concerned.

Koshka,I went to simply listen to some tunes on a very prominent radio site,featuring hundreds of stations(I WON’T GIVE THEM A FREE PLUG ON MJS site)and I was hit immediately by a quarter- page ad featuring Alex ,then another smaller bit scrutinizing his love-life,not to mention Big Alex ads on 2 OTHER MAJOR HOMEPAGES LAST WEEK,and there are many other examples I could cite with him.If that is not uber-promotion,I don’t know what is.

Teen version of Nickelodeon- the cable channel: It has show like Degrassi, What I Like About You, I Carly ( actually I think that one is just Nick). The Teen choice Awards are from Teen Nick- Adam won one last year. They will play videos between shows. It’s basically like the Disney Channel.

jaybee – I hope you didn’t get the impression I’m looking to argue or split hairs. For purely discussion sake:

To me this isn’t big promo. To me (and I don’t know any more than anyone else) big promo would be on-going banners at All Access, ticket give aways for concerts, radio interviews/gigs across the US, maybe doing some sort of daytime or late night talk show gig. Heck I don’t even know if he has been signed anywhere or has fan site. Perhaps I’ve missed articles, but I’ve not seen any evidence of a PR machine in full force behind Alex.

What city was that Alex bit on? Was it local to LA or his home town? I wonder if this is a one off or it will filter out from this one radio station. Personally, I suspect that Alex is going to have to work it hard. Almost no name recognition, other than being the ‘also ran’. So far (as far as I know) he doesn’t have a product to sell or has a song to add. I’m not sure why he would be of interest to any station, well any more than any other new artist.

BTW – I’m neither an fan or non-fan of Alex Lambert. I haven’t heard enough to even form an opinion yet. Perhaps you’re seeing more than I am and we’ll all me hearing him soon.

smallie: Good to know– I am already sick of her music videos and the elaborate but somehow very inorganic (to me) live TV performances, but maybe I should check out some youtubes to get a sense of her tour.

I did this (look up youtubes of her concerts) a few months ago when deciding whether to catch one of her shows, and came away thinking meh. She is imaginative to be sure and if I’m standing in the pits, I’m sure I’d be caught up in the excitement and have a good time, but overall I just see Cirque de Soleil does Pop (with less aerials and WAY better songs). And I always walk away from Cirque de Soleil shows feeling like they’ve shown me a lot of dazzle with very little soul. Love her songs though.
