Indie band Editors are celebrating their first ever UK number one album after fending off competition from Kelly Clarkson.

The Birmingham alt-rock outfit are at the top of the album charts for the first time-ever with An End Has a Start, beating the top position their debut studio album The Back Room reached by one place.

American Idol winner Clarkson meanwhile has to settle for second place with My December, her third studio album in four years…….

    I started to read the transcript for the chat, but it gave me a headache. I’m not too concerned since there hasn’t been an announcement from Jordin, either. The fact that he’s being managed by 19M suggests to me that a deal is in the works.

    400,000 is twice as large as we had heard previously. That’s a pretty big print-run too. Perhaps that shows that the publisher has some confidence in it (with any luck, he’ll beat Simon so he won’t have the worst selling book of any AI person).

    So, Simon appears to be winning the fight today. Though, it’s an unfair fight. Randy’s book is listed at $11.66, but Simon’s book can be had for as little as $0.01 (there are 11 copies at that price and then a steep jump to $0.20. So, buy NOW! Don’t delay).

    Same here. It’s used as a loss-leader in every kind of store imaginable. The book stores say it’s hard to compete, but hopefully, it leads to people/kids reading more.

    Yeah, I don’t want to be pessimistic, but a large order doesn’t translate to big sales (Walmart doubling their CD order, anyone?). I’m gonna buy one, though, cause that’s how I roll.

    I fully anticipate bad reviews of this book, BTW. Any time these types of books are released, they get bad ones. It just is the nature of the beast. It’s gonna be corny and cheesy, but it WILL be a fun summer read, IMO.

    Somebody said earlier that you can’t tell when someone has one of “those” piercings…let me add this. I was just talking to a friend who is much younger and telling her about this story. This Junior Leaguer shocked me by telling me she had a belly button ring. She also informed me that, if a person has one piercing (other than the normal one hole per ear), they probably have more such as tongue, nipples, etc. It’s like, the more the better. Same goes for tatt’s. So, applying that logic, does Fantasia have more than one per ear or a belly button ring? Kelly C. had one in her nose so what else might she have had pierced?     Lu, if you are still here, if you have a PC this is how I’d do it. If you have a MAC, I can’t help you.

    Go to My computer. Does it show your CD drive? If not, go to Control Panel/Add Hardware. See what that does. It could also have something to do with your drivers getting deleted, maybe? But then it gets into a gray area for me. Maybe also if a CD came with your CD burner, you may have to reinstall that or whatever the directions on it instruct you to do.

    Sorry I can’t be more helpful, but my computer knowledge is extremely limited.

    Okay, I’m going to ask the question, who is still buying Carrie Underwood’s cd. She has officially crossed over to mainstream and is being rediscovered, I guess. So let’s see what market she has left. She has the R&B, Jazz, Christian, New age and maybe a few more markets to break into.. Something tells me long after Kelly and Chris’s cds falls off the charts Carrie’s cd will be still going strong. It’s been over three years and her cd is still in the top twenty..Carrie can just up and retire with the success of this cd. She does not need to put out another.

    Three years would be 156 weeks.

    Even Kelly’s “Breakaway” is only in its 135th week, with a release date of 11-30-04.

    I’ve been gone a while so need to catch up on all your news here. Gosh, sorry to be serious here…but sometimes these kinds of stories are “not” true. It doesn’t make sense that Fantasia or her reps would tell this. And usually celebs have these things done privately, not just some jewelry store. And if the store doesnt maintain “privacy” of info re celebs, they usually dont get more business for such. I didn’t see the original post here as to where the story came from, so forgive if I missed something. Remember these kinds of things May or May Not be true. If it’s not true, gads…I’d hate to be a celeb. But this makes for some laughs!!

    an article from Billboard today has some hints about Jordin’s upcoming cd . one song she worked on was by Stargate who worked with Elliott Yamin on his current single Wait For You . Jordin describes the sound of the cd a bit of early Kelly Clarkson with the R&B edge of Beyonce.

    Interesting that Stargate is working with Jordin. They are real hitmakers. They could produce a pop hit for her even though she won’t add much. How was Elliott able to get them for two songs as I thought they were expensive. Anyone know how much they charge for a song? I think they only do the music, not the words.

    Thank you NV for setting me straight. Actually, I know Carrie’s cd has not been in the top 20 all this time and came out in 2005. I was being sarcastic. Still have yet to figure that out about me, right. Anyway, it just seems as if her cd has been out forever. I do believe Carrie’s cd will be around for a while. It’s a good thing that she is not so overly exposed that she is being hated upon like other artists.

    On another note, by the little jab Rollingstones took at Chris while commenting on Kelly’s cd, I’m feeling they did not care for his cd either..

    Actually Rad, it is a 2 disc cd..one that serves as a soundtrack for her show and one under her own name Miley Cyrus. At the age of 14, she is a singer, songwriter and an actress who I believe is a great role model for my own daughters in an age where Lindsay and Britney are all coked out. Kelly has done great, I have always been a fan of hers but today I have to say HMWD!!!!!!! ;)
