Adam Lambert & Kris Allen: They Want to Record Together!

For the next three months or so, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will be spending a lot of time with each other crisscrossing the country on the American Idol tour.

It’s no wonder that the two say we shouldn’t be surprised if, in the end, they decide to record a song together.

“It could happen,” Lambert told me yesterday during my exclusive sitdown with him and Allen. “Maybe we’ll write a song on the road.”

Allen smiled, “We have to figure it out, but yeah, we should do it.”

‘Idol’ Tryouts Hit Texas

Arlington, TX (myFOXla.com) – It seems like the show just ended, but it’s starting up again. Thousands of “American Idol” hopefuls pack Arlington’s Cowboy Stadium for a thirty second try-out. And if they make an impression, they’ll get another chance to try out, but that time it will be in front of four judges. Fox’s Steve Noviello reports.

Jackson A Big Influence At American Idol Tryouts

For many, Michael Jackson is the indisputable King of Pop – an original American Idol. Jackson is credited with forever altering music and influencing today’s current artists.

Perhaps nowhere is his memory more alive than with aspiring pop singers at the new Cowboys Stadium.

Friday thousands flooded the stadium in hopes of becoming the next American Idol. As many auditioned they said they were inspired by Jackson.

“It hurt me a lot. He was my one idol, out of everyboy, and it hurt me a lot,” Breana Angellc said after auditioning for the show.

As Montgomery Gentry’s warm-up act, Kellie Pickler sashayed across the stage for 14 songs in skin-tight jeans and glittery high heels.

The “American Idol” star bantered with the crowd during the 70-minute concert. She smiled and waved at fans, entering the front rows at one point.

Contestants bare all at ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ callbacks

Ellie Soto of Mesa is an old pro when it comes to the world of “So You Think You Can Dance” auditions.

“I’ve done it three times, and I still get tummy butterflies,” said Soto, 21, a communications major at Arizona State University. “It just makes you nervous.”

But the chance of appearing on the popular Fox series makes the butterflies worthwhile. Producers began holding auditions on Friday in Phoenix for the sixth season of the show, which will premiere Sept. 16. More than 450 people showed up on the first day; about 240 made the cut for callbacks on Saturday and Sunday.

Exclusive Interivew: Asuka Kondoh of So You Think You Can Dance

This morning I had the pleasure of chatting with Asuka Kondoh, the latest dancer to be eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance.

Asuka was a pre-season favorite, especially with head judge Nigel Lythgoe, who could not get enough of the sexy Latin Ballroom dancer. Unfortunately, Asuka seemed to peak during the audition process, during her three weeks on the show she danced for her life twice. But don’t feel too sorry for Asuka, during her short time on So You Think You Can Dance she worked with one of her ballroom idols, Louis Van Amstel, on a routine that had Mary Murphy in tears.

‘SYTYCD’: Cat Deeley blogs episode 10

I don’t know how we’re doing it …. But we’re all still standing …. Just about!

We’re filming season 5 and holding auditions for season 6 at the same time — sleep deprivation has become the phrase du jour! Last week I flew to New Orleans straight after the show, landed at 8 a.m. and was filming by 10:30 a.m. But the one thing about the So You Think You Can Dance team is we work hard and we play hard! There was fabulous vintage shopping at Miss Claudia’s, cocktails and gossip with the divine Sandra Bullock, and delicious beignets and coffee at 3:30 a.m. at Cafe du Monde! Adam Shankman was ring master as the circus moved from jazz bar, to blues club and onto the dance floor! I think it’s fair to say a fun night was had by all! We also discovered some hugely talented dancers, which of course was the real reason we were there. There was definitely some Top 20 potential!

I think they should keep their personal and business lives separate. They have such a great friendship, but I can’t see them singing together…too big of a difference in style.

Adam Lambert & Kris Allen: They Want to Record Together!

Doubtful at this stage of their careers, imo, due to musical and market branding reasons. Maybe in a few years, but I doubt they’ll do it on their first solo album.

Collaboration with performers outside the AI alumni is far more likely I think.

  • ross

Everything is so rigid these days with branding and marketing stuff.

In the old days people who wanted to record together just had the impulse and did it, as long as they were on the same label. A lot of good records resulted.

  • poporange

elw-I agree their vocal styles and range are too different..I know their will be examples of artist out there who have different style..No I did not think their duet on Ai was wonderful .Possible a slower song for the duet of Adam and Kris it is just adams vocals overpower Kris’s…Adam and Allison much more of a match.

It is getting old Adam and Kris are friends..like a gay guy can be friends with ones that is not who would of thunk….

  • hwc

I can’t imagine two singers who are less well-suited to performing together. Both of them would come off worse in a duet that they would individually singing the same song. I can think of absolutely nothing to be gained by this and, frankly, I think they are just being polite in their interviews. What are they supposed to say to that quesion? “No, I don’t want to record with him?”

I wish the media would just let this whole bromance topic go. Just because two people appeared on American Idol together doesn’t mean that they have to be surgically joined together. I feel so sorry for the kid who won. It’s like he’s not even allowed to breath without being forced to figuratively hold hands with Adam Lambert. It must be so frustrating for him as he tries to establish a musical brand of his own. It’s like his only identity is “the guy who won Adam Lambert’s season of American Idol”. Sheesh, the guy won. Ask him about his album or something.

  • hwc

No I did not think their duet on Ai was wonderful .

The Queen song could have been so much more with Adam channeling Freddie Mercury solo. I thought the duet really watered down the performance.

  • BeckyMD

I think it’s just a marketing thing, keeping Kradam fans hopeful. They should do more interviews and TV shows together tho.

  • anna in vegas

I feel so sorry for the kid who won.

The “kid who won”, that guy who beat Adam, the one Adam lost to……..his name is Kris………Kris Allen. :doh_tb:

  • karenw

Yeah I can’t see a Kris/Adam recording collaboration happening any time soon in the real world … but I guess they could write something together during those long boring hours on the road …. not that it would end up being recorded or anything bu it would be interesting to see what the pair of them would come up with.

  • breakdown

It won’t happen. Not a good career move for either of them.

  • lamslova

I love how the Eonline article starts off talking a possible duet with the bromance kids then segues into their friendship and never skips a beat right into Adams personal life.. lol. Me thinks Mr Malkin maybe “crushing” on Adam.
Because I’ve read how happy Kris and Katy are, I want to read that Adam is too. Im thrilled he and Drake are still together.

  • ross

I feel so sorry for the kid who won. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s like heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not even allowed to breath without being forced to figuratively hold hands with Adam Lambert. Ask him about his album or something.

I have to disagree because 1) nobody forces Kris to do anything, he willingly talks about Adam and their friendship, and 2) he obviously isn’t frustrated. He even said in his live chat with Comcast this is the greatest time of his life. I don’t think anybody needs to feel sorry for him, and I think he’ll have plenty of time to establish his musical brand.

  • dyg

They could have a tv show where each sings his own stuff, and do sketches together. Their voices do not fit together, IMO.

  • Lemon_C

I totally welcome the idea of Kradam duet. They sang an awesome, “I will remember you” for the last ford commercial. I have no doubt that their voice will bend beautifully together in duet.

It’s not like they promised they’ll do a duet. They just keep an open mind and wait for some ideas to show up. If they do come up with something fabulous during the tour, why not do it? Also, I kinda trust Kradam’s music taste and believe they won’t put out something they don’t believe in just to please their fans. If they really decide to put out a duet, it will be a good one.

It’s all good. (And I’m excited about the possibility. Ha!)

When is this sexuality crap gonna stop? Focus on the music media!

i personally would love if they did a song together. i loved the duet they sang for the Ford commercial ‘I will remember you’ and thought their voices complemented each other. here is the link for those of you who haven’t heard it.

I don’t think Kris or Adam will duet on this album. It’s going to be mad scramble to get these albums done period. Plus, they are probably more focused on defining who they are as artists. Elliott and Taylor did duet on Taylor’s second CD. Fantasia has done some duets at shows with Jennifer Hudson. It can happen.

    Friends quote of the day:

Chandler: Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m totally screwed. Okay, they are gonna be hot and heavy on stage every night, and then theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re gonna go to their cast parties and heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gonna try to undermine me. Y’know ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll be like, “So whereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s your boyfriend, whatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s-his-name, Chester?” And sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll go, “No-no-no, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Chandler.” And heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll go, “Whatever. Ha-ha-ha-ha!”

Joey: (to Ross) That-that is a good trick

  • will

I reluctantly have to agree that Kris is getting the shaft. I can’t say I’ve seen or read every interview out there, but surely more than the average person, and I really know next to nothing about him. But I sure know how he feels about Adam!

  • hollygo9

No I did not think their duet on Ai was wonderful

It was a fun moment but not a great musical collab. There was too much screaming and not enough Kris.

When is this sexuality crap gonna stop? Focus on the music media!

There’s no music to focus on yet. That is, unless you want them to want ‘Want’.

  • hwc

If there is anything even remotely like that Ford commercial on Adam’s album, I’ll pass.

As far as their own TV show, I really don’t see the networks jumping at the opportunity to give two unproven Idol wannabees their own network variety show…

  • Squirrely

The I Will Remember – commercial duet was really good, but it was obvious Adam was toning it down as not to overshadow. I thought the Queen duet was good too, but the vocal style difference was more evident, that really would have rocked if Adam was doing it with just Queen.

  • star

I’d rather hear Adam duet with someone more on par with him vocally, like Christina Aguilera or Kelly Clarkson. I think it would be cool if he and Kris wrote something together, though.

Actually, what I’d really like to know is if an Adam/Slash collaboration is still in the cards.

  • http://randomizeme.wordpress.com arca

The reporters will of course play up the bromance thing. It’s impossible not be tickled pink (even a little) about it, what with Kris (& Adam) playing along.

There’s really not much else to talk about – what are they singing on tour? Well, they can’t give too much away than what they’ve already revealed. What’s up on their albums? They’re still working on it, and they can’t give too much away either.

At any rate, there won’t be any more news until tour starts. Unless, Gokey finally gets signed and a press release is announced. Didn’t he send some tweets lately that got his fans all excited?

  • Calliope

I don’t really see a Kris and Adam duet working. It barely worked on the Ford commercial (I didn’t like it) and while We are the Champions was nice, but didn’t really work as duet.

Both of them would come off worse in a duet that they would individually singing the same song. I can think of absolutely nothing to be gained by this and, frankly, I think they are just being polite in their interviews. What are they supposed to say to that quesion? à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“No, I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want to record with him?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

Yeah, they usually answer about it not being likely, but I think this time they just changed it up. Plus, I think that songs that suit Kris don’t necessarily suit Adam and vice versa.

  • aek

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t imagine two singers who are less well-suited to performing together. Both of them would come off worse in a duet that they would individually singing the same song.

I totally agree. I don’t really think Kris wants to duet with anyone, personally.

  • LisaE

Yeah, I can’t see a duet happening either. I think they were just humoring the interviewer … playing the “never say never” game. Kris previously answered this question with a definitive “no, we have completely different styles.”

I love how Adam is starting to dish it back to these interviewers. With Ryan it was “Did you know I’m also a singer?” and here with “It doesn’t frickin’ matter!” Love it. Tell them Adam.

  • BeckyMD

Actually, what Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d really like to know is if an Adam/Slash collaboration is still in the cards.

I surely hope so. In one of his interviews, Adam said working with Slash was the most legit moment in his AI. I think Slash recognized Adam’s talent and his mentor suggestion for Adam not to improvise to much on his high register totally made sense to me.

  • girlygirl

I think that IF they write a song to perform together, they will come up with something that suits both guys’ voices and styles. Something that isn’t way over the top theatrical, like some of the stuff Adam did on AI, yet edgier than much of the stuff Kris did on the show. Written in a key that allows Adam to do his thing without being out of Kris’ range. They aren’t so stupid or naive to do something that would damage their careers, especially not when they are just starting out.

I happened to really like the “I Will Remember You” commercial — both guys sounded very good on it, and the harmonies were spot on. That showed that they CAN do a duet that works. And I would point out that there have been a lot of duets in recent years by recording artists whose styles and voices don’t seem to be compatible — yet many of them have been very successful.

I think I will just trust Kris’ and Adam’s judgment on this. If it happens, great. That suggests both guys are really happy with the product — otherwise there’s no way they would release it. If it doesn’t ever happen, that’s fine too.

edit: respect other’s opinions, don’t criticize their comments

  • Squirrely

****I happened to really like the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I Will Remember Youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ commercial à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ both guys sounded very good on it, and the harmonies were spot on.**

    Me too.

  • lavender1960

there are ways Adam and Kris can do a duet that doesn’t mess up the flows of their individual albums, as in release something in a separate context – and I don’t know why the assumption is it would be awful, some of the best duets work because they pair 2 people you’d never think to pair – I would refer you to the show Cross Roads which pairs a well known country star and a well known rock star, for one hour and most of the time the results are bloody brilliant – Heart and Wynona Judd was pretty mindblowing, Pat Benatar and Martina McBride blew me away even more…. and look at the collaboration of Allison Kraus and Robert Plant on an album that was very successful, who’d have thunk it?

edit: respect other’s opinions, don’t criticize those who disagree with you

  • will

Personally I relish the times when Adam is forced by circumstances to rein himself in a bit, as he would obviously have to do in a duet with someone like Kris. He actually has quite a beautiful middle and lower register that isn’t heard often enough. He doesn’t always have to fly into the stratosphere, but he rarely can resist the impulse when going solo. I also think pairing up with someone like Adam could bring out a more assertive style in Kris’ vocals that he doesn’t display that often. So I say, Bring It On!

  • BeckyMD

I love “We are the Champions” and à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I Will Remember Youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ but not the duet. Their voices and style are so different. Listening to their duet is like constantly switching between two songs, both of which are good on their own but not so much put together. Adam solo on “We are the Champions” would be wonderful. Kris’ singing the Queen song by himself would be good too in its own way.

  • hwc

That Ford commercial was an Auto-Tuned boy band song. I can’t imagine Adam having any interest in recording that kind of music.

  • steve
  • suebrody

I still want KRADAM webisodes, b/c they really jell there…they have perfect comedic timing (see TVGuide.online interview). I am not sure singing together would work as well…guess it depends on the song (We Are The Champions was kind of weak, IMO, b/c it was not Kris’s sort of song, and he struggled in the higher register). But they both seemed to have such a good time (both have said this, too), so maybe they can find the right song.

    KRADAM FTW

  • Susan M.

@girlygirl and lavender1960, I totally agree!! And Lavender, that “Cross Roads” show sounds fascinating. Bottom line, Adam can sing anything (well, except Country, but that is by choice). (I love Kris too, but he does have a very distinct central style, in which he excels beautifully).

@Will, I agree with your premise, but disagree with your contention that Adam can’t resist “going into the stratosphere” when going solo. Evidence: “TOMT,” “MW,” “IICHY,” and his prior Idol performances of “Come Home,” “I Just Love You,” “Kiss From a Rose,” “I Can’t Make You Love Me” … I could go on. All were very intimate, intense, pulled-back performances.

Two musical people can always jam together and see what happens. It’s called creativity and why the heck not? No one said they have to ink a track on their records, but they can certainly play around to see what happens.

  • sleeptalker

As if Kris and Adam are going to invest heavily on a duet for their career. I’m sure if they did it would be one or two songs and it would mostly be for fun and for the sake of singing together. Look back to the origin of singing and how people didn’t care how their voices sounded with someone else…they just sang.

Just because Kris and Adam are beautiful personalities meshing together, don’t forget that they are known now through their music…if they can mesh so well as friends, I’m sure they could make it happen as musicians. :)

edit: DON’T TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO DO

  • leome

    I think they were just humoring the interviewer à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ playing the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“never say neverà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ game. Kris previously answered this question with a definitive à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“no, we have completely different styles.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

I liked the Adam and Kris “I’ll Will Remember You” duet a lot too. Just because their voices are different doesn’t mean they can’t sound awesome together. Simon and Garfunkel, anybody?

  • ciciring

hmm, I think this “kradam” thing is just part of the publicizing for the tour~~ They are friends, yes, but it is not necessary for every two friends making records together. and….why the media still keep talking about the sexuality? If two people get along, they get along, why have to emphasize, oh, look how amazing a gay and a straight guy get along :thumbdown_tb:

  • CindyM

I liked the ford commercial too, but they record the singers separately and then blend them together later, right? The song sounded great, they had to have mixed the hell out of it, but I didn’t think it showcased either if the distinctive aspects of their voices. It sounded kind of generic to me, pretty but generic. The Queen song was fun, and I loved their solo parts in each song, but together Adam sounded like he was holding back and kris sounded strained. I love these guys together, seem be genuinely friends and close, charming and funny as hell but musically…naaaah.

  • SybilTrelawney

No surprise, but the American Idol winner and runner-up have become as tight as any two best friends could be. So, just how close are they?

They both laugh when I ask Allen if Lambert is his “closest gay.”

“As much time as we spend together, I would probably say so,” Allen said.

And it works both ways. “He’s definitely becoming my closest straight,” Lambert said. “That’s something I am trying to get acrossà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ that it doesn’t frickin’ matter. Just like when people were dealing with race relations. The moment we started getting over it as a society was the moment we stopped paying attention to the differences and paid attention to the similarities.

He continued, “People get so scared and uncomfortable with the ways in which they are different. I think it’s a testament to Kris that he’s completely comfortable in his own skin, comfortable with his sexuality. He’s a straight man, he’s married, and it’s not threatening for him to be friends with a gay guy.”

Or as the more reserved Allen put it, “That’s what’s wrong with the world. Why can’t everyone just get along?”

Viva la bromei! Love love Adam, and Kris is so cool, I’m “falling slowly” for him too. As for a duet, I think they could do it. The Queen medley wasn’t the best vehicle for them to duet on, because it was so much more Adam’s genre than Kris’s. But I think they could have done a great job on the song Kris and Danny did (where Danny was the attention hog). Adam knows how to tone it down for an effective duet. While Kris’s voice isn’t as powerful as Adam’s, it’s not weak.

  • Dr. Tracey

An Adam/Kris duet would be cool, I wouldn’t hold my breath though these things get talked about then never materialize but if they did get together and do it, I bet they would make it work and it would sound great.

  • BootStar

I haven’t seen it in the on-line version yet, but our local throwaway paper, Town Talk (Holmes, PA), has Kenny Hoffpauer as their “Profile of the Week.” It says Kenny will be going down to Orlando to audition for S9, and gives a pretty lengthy discussion of the audition process for S8.

Hoffpauer reflects on being outsted by the sing-off with eventual champ Kris Allen, and admits that his performance lacked stamina at that point, so the better man won and moved on, he said. There are many similarities between Hoffpauer and Allen’s vocal stylings, so Kenny draws strength from the reaffirming loss.

I feel so sorry for the kid who won.

Nah, there are many who get him and are anxiously awaiting his album. As a fan, I could have waited w/o the publicity but I’m certainly enjoying it while it’s here. I think Kris is going to be in the music industry for the long haul.

As far as the collab goes, I think of Michael Jackson/Paul McCartney and Allison Kraus/Robert Plant collabs that have been successful. While Kris and Adam are not these people, they both have excellent vocal control and I believe they could achieve something pretty amazing together. Obviously it’s not going to be a Queen style song, even though the performance of that song far outweighed any questions about the vocals on that duet, in the amazing department.

While I doubt it would be their first album you never know, I remember saying that this could very well the first yr. idol actually has someone w/o a big voice win, esp. when some saw Danny’s lack of artistry and some weren’t crazy about Adam’s tone and what they called screeching. It happened…so you never know!

although i understand the sentiment of the “why do we still need to talk about the friendship” comments because yes, we really should be talking about their music (although there really isn’t any to speak of yet), i do think there is an audience that would benefit from hearing about their friendship and seeing it in action.

not everyone is as enlightened as we are here at MJs. a public example of two men that are very comfortable with one another despite differences in sexual preference is, in my opinion, a valuable image. think of the good that the image of the rat pack did. im, of course, not putting kris and adam anywhere near the level of the rat pack and their level of celebrity and talent… but i think it has been well recognized via rat pack lore that the race lines crossed in their alliance sent a very positive “by-example” message during the 50′s and 60′s when the US was going through the civil rights movement. well… we are in the middle of another civil rights movement and perhaps a few similar, high-profile friendships would do some good.

  • Calliope

Same here. There is a lot they can possibly do together, but from what I know of them I don’t actually care for the possibilities I can imagine. I thought that Ford Commercial was a cute montage retrospect, but musically it isn’t something I’d care for from either of them and doubt they would put anything out like that (unless forced, which is always a possibility haha). I know of many artists who don’t mesh on the surface that work in duets, but with these two establishing themselves it just doesn’t sound likely. I am curious about what they would co-write would sound like though.

From a business standpoint, I don’t see a Kradam duet really doing much anyway. If they want duets for Kris and Adam, it’s best to go for established, non-AI artists to raise non-AI visibility.

ITA. Kris and Adam are great as friends, but I don’t think a duet would sound very good. I have a feeling they just mentioned it to keep the Kradam fangirls happy.

  • AC

I can imagine Kris and Adam possibly writing a song together because I remember a lot of reporters telling them that they should work together since Chris Daughtry and Ace Young did and they wrote a hit. I think they got asked that too much and now it’s ingrained in their minds. hehe.

Also, I thought their duets were pretty good. I’m sure if there was ever an actual duet, they could make it work while retaining their own styles.

I’m glad it’s just not me seeing blue… I thought it was because of the result of the US/Brazil game (sniff).

And I had no intention of going to any of the Idol tour dates but now I’m getting bummed that I’m not! Guess I’ll wait for YouTubes ;)

  • Chipmunk

Couldnt care less either way,The entire Kradam thing bores me.

I’m a lot more interested in the material Adam puts out and any possible collaborations on his album. Although a collabo with Allison later on, after their first individual albums, I would like

Nice article about David Cook appearing in Aspen:

“Belly Up Aspen owner Michael Goldberg has never watched TV’s ‘American Idol,’ but that didn’t stop the local nightclub from booking ‘Idol’ sensation David Cook for what will undoubtedly be a sold-out show tonight.

“The singer-songwriter won season seven of the reality TV singing competition over runner-up David Archuleta and released a self-titled CD six months later that went platinum.

“According to the Belly Up’s online bio of Cook, he rewrote history when 11 of his songs debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ the highest number of new entries in a single week by an artist since the Beatles in 1964.

“‘He did a really successful spring tour, selling out everywhere,’ Goldberg said.

“That, in itself, doesn’t ensure an artist will resonate with an Aspen audience, but Goldberg ran Cook’s name past a group of informal advisors (he consults different folks for artists of different genres). They resoundingly endorsed booking the club’s first appearance by an ‘American Idol’ winner.

“‘I’m excited to see the show. There are a whole lot of people who are excited to see this show,’ said Goldberg, predicting a sellout.”

“I feel so sorry for the kid who won. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s like heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not even allowed to breath without being forced to figuratively hold hands with Adam Lambert.”

Um…why are you refusing to use Kris’s name? You don’t have to like him (I like him but I love Adam), but he’s not Voldemort, you can still be mature and say his name. Unless I’m missing another reason for not saying it?

I could possibly see Adam and Kris collaborating at some point in the future, but in this interview I think they were just being polite–they’re going to be working on their solo efforts now.

You got me skeerrd. You know how your blog has become a part of my daily routine. Hope you can trace who’s doing this to you and hack them back.

  • Victoria

Again? When this blog got attacked awhile ago, I thought it was just a bitter/overprotective fan because of some of the posts at that time, but who would want to hack this place? It’s not like there was anything controversial today. I hope this gets figured out.

ETA: And I agree with Lola, I need my daily fix of this blog :)

According to Lyndsay Parker, in part of her interview with Lil, a few of them are doing Mad Con’s Beggin as part of a group performance. I asked her per twitter (hehe.. it’s funny how it’s so easy to get some answers now) if everyone was in it or just some, and she said that it’s not all of them but Anoop is in it. So now we know that there are smaller group performances of Can’t Hurry Love and Beggin’. I wonder if this is to end the first half? It seems like the top 4 aren’t doing any group performances other than the very end.

  • Victoria

Whoa, my comment up there got transferred over here from another post? Okay, haha.

So now we know that there are smaller group performances of Can’t Hurry Love and Beggin’.

I guess this is going to be more S6 tour, less S7 with the different group performances and all that. I didn’t go to the S6 one, but I heard it was better format-wise than last year’s, so that’s fine by me.

Reposting this – since it was lost in the aftermath of the hacker attack.

Gene Simmons is at it again in an interview with Insidertv:

Adam Lambert’s performance with Kiss on ‘American Idol’ was amazing. But I’m a little bummed you’ve been talking smack about him ‘ ¦

GS: I don’t think I’ve been talking smack at all. In fact, if anything, I’ve been soft-peddling. He’s enormously talented, best talent ‘American Idol’ has had, but I think he killed his career because now the conversation is not about his talent but about his sexual preference. He’s done. You’re forcing people to deal with issues they may not be interested in. Life is unfair, and the masses don’t all live in L.A. They live in Wisconsin and Nebraska, and you’re on crack if you think the same rules apply there. My advice is still the same, shut the f*** up, just sing and let people say whatever they want. But I do wish him the best because he’s got all the talent in the world. If only the world was not homophobic, but it is. I would be the first one to vote for equal rights for gay women and men, and get the church and the state to stop telling everybody how to lead their lives, but do I think he’s killed his career? Oh, in an instant. I hope I’m completely wrong. I hope he becomes the next Beatles and proves me wrong.

Speaking of someone with no filter … Gene does seem to love Adam though.

Someone mentioned on another site that Adam is at the Adele concert tonight. Busy boy. And from Twitter, Danny is in Nashville and has two meetings tomorrow. Hmmmm…

I think the song that Chris and Ace”wrote” was only a co-write for both. The way I read it was the song was written words and music by a musican, mad at his manager and Chris and Ace just changed up some wording in the chorus so it would be about a man and a woman, instead of two men. That is one of the reasons that the current fad of singers also having to be songwriters annoys me. I’m older than most of you and grew up when singers sang and writers wrote and sometimes they did both but it wasn’t any big deal and the music was still good.

  • hwc

I’ve read MJ’s rules. I don’t see the one that requires posters to know the names of all Idol contestants. I couldn’t remember the kid’s name during the season and, for me, winning hasn’t made him any more memorable. I make no effort to learn their names unless I really like their singing or they are really hot (and female).

This season was really tough because four or five of the guys were all the same for me, kind of mellow boy-band R&B. One was blind. One was Indian. One wore hats. And one strummed guitar. The guitar guy won, right?

I think it’s great that his fans are excited by his dramatic win. That’s the way it should be. As many opinions about the outcome as there are fans.

Thanks for that – that’s interesting – so looks like they cut down on Megan’s and Michael’s songs (they only get 2 solo’s unlike last year where the bottom two got 3 songs) so there would be more group numbers for the bottom 6. At the same time, there’s more songs for the Top 4.

  • AC

JOJOSIE- Actually, I did read about that, but I was just too lazy to type about it. hehe. I think the main writer was Melissa Joan Hart’s husband and I remember her being really pissy towards Daughtry about it?

there’s also a short article about Kris and Adam on Access Hollywood but it basically repeats the People article. I do love how Adam names everyone he works with while Kris is the opposite in which he is very tight-lipped.

Speaking of someone with no filter ‘ ¦ Gene does seem to love Adam though.

It sounds like back-handed compliments at best to me. Gene Simmons, slimeball that he is, has figured out that the press will pay attention to him if he talks about Adam, especially if he sounds controversial. It’s what Gene Simmons has been doing for decades- staying famous by being outrageous, rather than producing music anyone wants to hear.

Hey, I care! ;) I think it’s because they aren’t many in this group you can start the dating rumor about, and the paps seem to catch them together in photos. Of course they are dating! ;)

So I guess Perez Hilton reported that Adam went to the Adele/Etta James concert at the Hollywood Bowl tonight? Now I’m mad — because I was actually thinking of going to that concert. But did I? Noooooooooooooooooooo. Instead I stayed home and wasted 3 hours watching the lame excuse that was the BET Awards (stupidstupidstupid).

Not that I would’ve likely seen Adam anyway — the Bowl is huge with thousands of people everywhere. But still…

IIRC, this makes sense to end the first half of the show – they’ll usually close with a group number of the bottom 5 (or 6) leading into intermission.

Not sure I like the Kradam collaboration idea. Haven’t they said repeatedly that they know their styles are so different (which they are), and, though it’s not impossible for 2 different performers to collaborate (and do it well), I’m still not sure how well it would work with the two of them.

“I don’t see the one (rule) that requires posters to know the names of all Idol contestants. ”

In real life, if you are compelled to speak about someone, you need to learn his/her name. It’s a sign of acceptable manners even though it’s not a requirement for this board.
