She never would have been able to help me with Great Expectations, etc. That is why we have English teachers-to teach us how to appreciate books that don't appear to deserve appreciating on the surface. LMOAO. (i think i made that one up, laugh my own a$$ off!) But even without any prompting, I was a huge book reader. I swear I read The Lord of the Rings twenty times by the end of high school. I continue to be book lover. My son also loves to read. Did you know that on average, people read 4 books a year? That is so sad to me. But I never would have gotten through some of the challenging books in high school without a good English teacher. Not all parents can help their children to understand challenging works. Abilymom
