For truth in advertising purposes, this isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t a professional review, it was a fan submitted review. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m glad the teenager had a good time but the glowing review is no different there than a fan submitting their review here. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure the professional reviewers will write something up (and probably liked Archie just fine).

Professional reviewers can be fans as well. All too frequently though, the professionals tend toward writing rather jaded, cynical critiques. I don't have a problem with a somewhat gushy fan review if it's written well. After all, it's only one individual's opinion - just like the pro review.

Did anyone else see the nice article on Kris Allen in the June 8th edition of People magazine? I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see any mention of it here on MJs blog, but I may have missed it. Very nice, big picture of Kris with his guitar. I like the quote that he wants to make music thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s great, that no matter if you like it or not, you respect it. The article is by Shawna Malcom. There is also a really nice, large picture of Kris in the table of contents from the same photo shoot. He looks fantastic!

sch-weeet!!! david a roars back in del mar last night... read more at the link... and from tweets from the first show of the lovato tour tonight in hartford, he is on fiyah... sang ''apologize''... 1st time in concert since the idol tour... cannot wait for my show in greensboro....

David Archuleta a hit at San Diego County Fair
Last yearà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“American Idolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ runner-up wins big in sold-out concert
By Kelly Lin, SDNN

You know that tingly feeling you get when you witness something so amazing that you just want to throw your cares out the window and jump for joy?

As I gazed at the dazzling outdoor ambience of the San Diego County Fair while 18-year-old international pop star David Archuleta serenaded concert-goers with à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“To be With You,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ wellà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ I got that feeling.

After a whirlwind day of fun with friends and games of à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Letà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s try to meet David before the concert without the security guard calling the Sheriff,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ it was finally time for the show! I had been standing and walking for five hours straight and the effects of my athleticism coupled with the unhealthy delicacies I had sampled earlier in the day were finally taking their toll. Once the doors opened, I limped into the stands, exhausted and in desperate need of a chair.

Little did I know that I would be sitting down to see the best concert of my life.

Let's see....I'm a wannabe Idol and I have a terrific voice. But, geesh, my interest in musical history is a little vague, or I can't play an instrument, or I really don't know much about song arranging, or I'm just a "normal" person with no backstory. I have a good voice but limited range, or I'm not real articulate and get tongue-tied easily.

AI is no longer (nor has it really ever been) about finding a new, fresh, sing in the shower, untested singer. I would think unless you have all the tools or unless you are just tremendously bad and are willing to "bare" all for your 5 minutes of fame, then AI may not be the course for you.

I am sure that there are a lot of auditioners that are finally coming to terms with the reality of AI and are giving it a pass. Smart move, that!

This whole thread has me a little verklempt. I think the reason I keep watching American Idol, the show, with all its faults, is because there is something magical about watching talented deserving young people achieve their dreams. I only started following Idol on the internet because of my over-investment in the future of David Cook , who I admire greatly as an artist and a person. I love seeing him blossom as a star. However, the articles and commentary here just show how much the idols and the idol brand are now starting to infiltrate the popular music landscape. It makes the fanwars seem utterly rediculous, given that each Idol's success just helps legitimize the Idol brand. Although I'm not a big fan of Archie or Jordin, I am very proud of the success they are achieving and am rooting for them. Kellie C, Jennifer H, Carrie, Chris D, Kellie Pickler, Bucky Covington, Jordin, Archie and DC are in my opinion at least moderate to super successful recording artists with many more Idols still having successful if more niche musical or entertainment careers. While I will always have my all time faves (Carrie, Melinda, Cook and Allison), I hope the other Idols also achieve all they hope for.

Holy crap now that's a homecoming show! That 360 view of the crowd during A Daily AntheM has a me a little sniffly. I had read he was taking pictures all night and he said he wanted a picture of the crowd for his new house. Also he was wearing on his neck the pass he had from Red, White and Boom back in 2003. What a trip! Bet he never imagined he would be the headliner one day back then! Sniff. I love seeing dreams come true :wub_tb:

Ohhhh, this new vid of Just Died is a keeper. First, you get a scope of the ridic size of the crowd, and then lots of awesome close ups of Dave, Nealà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s sick guitar solo, and a little Kyle with the stick work.

And hereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s A Daily AntheM with a 360 degree view of the crowd waving their arms ( headlining this event had to rival Manilla for him) and Dave jumping into the people below at the end.

OMG Those are fantastic! Thanks sunchick!!! That ADAM vid showing the crowd had me all weepy for our boy!!! How thrilling that must have been for him. Very very cool.

And hereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s A Daily AntheM with a 360 degree view of the crowd waving their arms ( headlining this event had to rival Manilla for him) and Dave jumping into the people below at the end.

Dude, that last bit of A Daily Anthem à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬' when he jumped into the crowd and the ENTIRE freaking crowd surged forward?? Scared the crap outta me. I cannot believe he did that!!

LOL, I can! I watched boyfriend climb scaffolding thinking holy shit, as sweaty and slippery as his hands must be, if he fell, that would not be purdy...not that it kept me from screaming enthusiastically as he went higher. But anyway, I've dubbed that new ADAM the Maida Moment because it reminds me of this OLP concert vid.

However, I thought the cover last night was really special.

Ditto, although maybe not entirely for the same reason. :cheese1_ee: :blush_tb:
