Thanks, JRB. Very nice to hear that his mom Lupe was there. Hope tomorrow's show goes very well; he deserves to be at least the co-headliner on that tour. : )

^^^
So far only Lupe, Claudia, Jazzy, Amber and "the iCarly girls" have been spotted.

And I guess the encore was kinda rushed. There was a question of a flight being cancelled so they needed to hightail it back to the airport to catch a flight back to Connecticut for tomorrow's show with Demi.

LK09, any Jeff sightings -- or non-sightings -- at Del Mar?

I think Archie tweeted that it was a good show.

DA just sang at Del Mar. I heard the last few songs on a terrible cellcast, but they sounded great. He did two encores; Imagine, which he accompanied on piano, and a Thousand Miles. People said they spotted Jennette McCurdy in the audience. She seems to show up at a lot of his concerts. I think they are good friends.

BLOWN AWAY?

What exactly does that mean? It simply means a strong reaction, however Hi-Fi failed to say if it was positive or negative, Adam could have just as easily been blown away by how incredibly BAD the material was.

Why does everyone assume it was because the material was good? I say "Want" just wasn't very good and Adam probably didn't think so either and passed on what they were offering.

So Hi-Fi took the low road and are now trying to squeeze some bucks out of 19E/RCA.

Adam did nothing wrong and his career is gonna be just fine. Sometimes the best thing to do is do nothing and let it all blow over. Really, is anyone still talking about the ONTD Twitter thing after this? That's already practically disappered, and next week something else is gonna overshawdow this.

I just hope for once it wont be anything to do with Adam, maybe Danny will manage to offend someone else, or Sanjaya will win Celebrity, or Kris and Katy will save a drowning kid.

As smart as Adam is, he is probably like a lot of young singers and other artists who sign contracts and waivers either not understanding the implications of what they signed or knowing but not caring because they need the money - they got rent coming due etc and arenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t thinking about the next level of their career. Then they become famous, as stated, opportunity has come aknocking, whether ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the photographer with nude photos of the beauty pageant contestant or the singer or the actress, the ex boyfriend with the sex tape, the ex band mates who are hawking the old albums or demo tapes or the studio you did demos for 2 years ago.

The thing is, the kind of work-for-hire contract he signed for this thing probably just said something like: You'll get paid a one-time fee, and we own this thing and won't pay you anything else. Those contracts are written to protect the people who hired you, not you -- they want to pay you your fee and then they want you to go away and stay away and not ask for anything more.

And when you're not famous, it almost certainly wouldn't occur to you that someday those people might think it was in their financial interest to release the material, and that, by that time, you could be upset to have it released by them! Plus, as a young unsigned session singer, you have, like, zero clout, so you probably couldn't even get them to add this stuff to the contract if you *did* think of it. You couldn't afford a good lawyer, and they don't want anything in the contract to potentially interfere with their using the recording any way you want. Most likely, if you asked for more contract provisions to protect *you* in some way, they'd just go out and hire a different singer.

About the only way you could realistically prevent something like this from ever happening is just to walk away from any work-for-hire work you might be asked to do as a young musician -- and if you did that you wouldn't get much experience or be able to pay your rent. That would be a very high price to pay for the off chance that, once you got to fame or the verge of it, something like this might complicate things a bit.

Happy Birthday Kris...and sorry to hear about his grandmother passing away.

I think no matter what Adam is going to be fine. He is already doing what he dreamed of and that is all that counts in the end.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRIS ALLEN!!! I heard from the kris forum that his grandmother died today.I know she was sick because of one of his interviews..I hope that its not true that she already died because its his birthday :(

Adam is talented enough to get pass this.If we give it a week we wont even remember that there was a Hi-fi or the song "want"We need to let that pass. Adam has a bright future.

Those yahoos from Hi-Fi are coming forward regretting that they didn't sign Adam when they had the chance. Too bad for them. Adam is going to do so much better as a known artist releasing a debut cd on a huge record label, vs. being a relatively unknown on a small label. So ha ha Hi-Fi! Lucky for Adam and lucky for his fans.

Tess, I agree with you. The notion that Adam would have any motive in promoting this situation is LUDICROUS.

So...let me understand this concept....Adam is struggling to pay the bills so he hires himself out as a session musician, just like guitar players and drummers, and other musicians, and a few back up singers, too. They all get paid by the gig but before they get paid they have to go out and hire a lawyer at $500 bucks an hour to make sure that nobody will put this silly little song out on an album if and when they become famous, maybe 10 years down the road. No one does this....they can't afford to.

I'm just having a real problem with people accusing Adam as being duplicitous in any of this. Why the hell would he want this dreck out in front of the public with his name on it? It isn't going to help him in anyway.

Besides, he NEVER even worked for HiFi records, he worked for Wilshire which sold all the material to HiFi, with no enumeration going to Adam. Everyone can "hate" on Adam all they want, but common sense tells me that he isn't going to benefit from any of this so why the hell would he want to be involved. Geesh......
