‘SYTYCD’ Judges Discuss This Week’s Shocking Non-Elimination

Speaking to reporters backstage immediately after the show, main judge and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe revealed that the surprising decision was just as last-minute as it seemed on TV, and was made in the final minutes of Thursday’s live episode. “I called for Mike Darnell [Fox’s president of alternative entertainment] and Trae Williams, who is standards and practices, and said, ‘This is what we’d like to do. We’ve done it on ‘Idol’ before. I know we’ve never done it on this program, but it gives us another week for America to see [the dancers], get to know them, figure out who they want to vote for.” And thus, “SYTYCD” history was made.

Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’ controversy: Video production company says it was ‘blindsided’ by YouTube removal

Rebecca Black’s infamous music video for “Friday” remains pulled from YouTube due to a copyright claim by Black, as the saga surrounding the viral video continues to play out. ARK Music Factory, the company that helped Black create it, has fired back in a statement, claiming that they’re working to resolve a complaint from Black’s representatives.

The statement from ARK’s spokesperson is as follows: “We’re disappointed, having been in good faith negotiations with Rebecca Black and her representatives for months regarding any open issues. There’s been an ongoing, open dialogue with our company. So we were blindsided to get a Take Down Notice — with no notice — alleging copyright infringement instead of a call or email from Rebecca’s representatives.”

‘Glee’s’ Naya Rivera talks upcoming solo album: ‘I’m really excited’

It seems like “Glee’s” breakout star Naya Rivera is more than prepared for the hit show’s upcoming casting changes. The 24-year-old, who plays HBIC and sexually confused Santana Lopez, recently signed a record deal and talked to EW about what fans can expect from her debut album.

“I won’t have anything I’m working on until after the tour is over, ” Rivera says. “So July 4th, when I get back home in L.A., is when I’ll hunker down and spend that whole month hammering out the details and the creative process of that. I’m really excited about that.”
