Adam Lambert Phones In From The Road: The Glam Nation Press Conference

Adam Lambert certainly doesn’t phone it in onstage…but he’s not averse to phoning journalists while on the road with his Glam Nation Tour. So on Friday, June 18, while en route to his concert at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Michigan, the Glamerican Idol conducted a telelphone press call with journalists to discuss his first solo tour, his new “If I Had You” video, and, of course, his latest hairstyle.

‘American Idol’ Contestant Siobhan Magnus on Meeting Hanson, Corsets and Writing Music

Do you know what your tour set looks like yet? Are you going to do any Hanson songs?
I’m not, only because it just didn’t fit really with kind of the mood of my set. It’s only three songs and it just had to be just right. I can’t explain it, but I wouldn’t want it to be in the wrong context.

So it’s going to be kind of a darker set? Like you did with ‘Wicked Games’ on the show?
Yeah, it will definitely be something that I think the fans will like. I’m really excited for it.

Can you give away one of the songs you’ll be singing?
I’d rather not. I like to keep things surprises. But I am doing a song that came out really well on the show and I get to do the whole song and not just a minute and a half version. [Laughs] It’ll be a lot of fun.

Adam Lambert ‘Caught Off Guard’ By Reaction To His Half-Shaved Head

And it’s not bald, just very short,” Lambert laughed during a conference call Friday (June 18). “I didn’t think that was newsworthy! It caught me off guard and made me laugh that E! Online and MTV and People wanted to report on it. I’m flattered that they find it that important.”

Thousands show up for Archuleta book signing

REXBURG — If you thought David Archuleta could only pack a concert hall, you should have been at Deseret Book Thursday evening.

Fans swarmed to get their copies of Archuleta’s book “Chords of Strength” signed, in what was the largest crowd the store has ever seen.

“The line goes down to Odell’s (Furniture), and has for 2 hours solid,” said Mike Jenkins, store manager, after the signing had started. “My guess is several thousand people will come through by the end of the night, probably 2 or 3.”

He wasn’t far off. According to Deseret Book employee Ashley Jensen, 1,500 to 2,000 people came through the store Thursday after Archuleta started signing at 6 p.m., though official numbers won’t be available until next week. Jensen also said 233 copies of Archuleta’s book were sold on Thursday, numbers she said were, “definitely above normal.”

TodaysCountry: Check out @DannyGokey ’s new video for ‘I Will Not Say Goodbye.’ This is one very powerful video. Well done Danny. http://bit.ly/ckwKnt

This is a powerful video and Danny sounds amazing on it. I think this is one of the best vocals Danny has done. He really has come into his voice since the end of Idol. I am extremely pleasantly happily impressed. Thanks for posting steph6449.

Nope! It wasn’t Taylor I was being critical of, but the media and their habit of trying to make celebrities more authoritative than they actually are. The opinion of celebrities outside their specific areas of expertise isn’t a whit more valuable than the opinion of your average “man on the street.” If the celebrities are big enough, the visual media especially will often feature them more prominently than true experts in some matters.

Please excuse the tirade. It’s a pet peeve of mine.

Oh larc, I think I love you!! Here, here!!!

  • cookcricket

Goodness, I wish something would be confirmed with this whole Casey/Bachelor thing. I just can’t see him agreeing to do this if he knows what it’s all about.

On the other hand he could bring some actual class to the show, and um, I’d probably tune in…

Lol like I’ve said…Danny was my favorite during my not-so-invested time of watching in S8. Pimped backstory or not, he’s got a wonderful voice and that song really shows it (I think the video is stretched too long with the addition of the other audio clips – not that they don’t fit, but I think it gets to be too much). I think I’m gonna be buying his album here quite soon…what I’ve heard, I’ve liked quite a bit.

Casey on the Bachelor…I don’t really see how it would actually ruin a musical career for him, but I *do* see how some people would start to see him as a reality TV fixture or something. Doesn’t much matter to me either way – I wouldn’t watch the show except maybe once or twice if I was bored, and if he does get a recording contract and I like his music, I might buy it…him going or not going on that show wouldn’t change that for me.

  • Nina1

Goodness, I wish something would be confirmed with this whole Casey/Bachelor thing. I just can’t see him agreeing to do this if he knows what it’s all about.

If he ever actually did this, I would be excruciatingly disappointed in him. It would kinda indicate the “15 minutes” is more important than the music. I don’t believe this is true. He is not culturally mainstream enough for it to work for the producers. He’s a musician, not an insurance broker! As of now he has no money and possibly no suit. Nah, this is just a funny… and it did make me laugh.

  • Nina1

I don’t really see how it would actually ruin a musical career for him,

Picture Casey strumming romantic songs to various beauties in candle lit settings, as he gazes deeply into (all of) their eyes. The Bachelor is seriously cheesy. Makes Idol look like the Met. or Shakespeare. Or something.

It was a perfect example of celebrities being “groundlessly” considered by the media to offer an opinion.

I was really impressed when Kris was interviewed before one of his concerts at either a radio or TV station last week and asked to comment on the Gulf spill situation. He said he doesn’t have all the facts and has been too busy with the tour to keep up with all that is going on, so he was not in a position to comment. He did say he thought it was a terrible situation.

Girlygirl, nice to see that jump for ‘The Truth’. I still would like to know which version is charting and if they are combining them in both airplay and sales. I hear more and more stations are playing the album version.

Re: Casey on the Bachelor. I think it’s bogus and some fan generated pipe dream. I think it’s a terrible idea.

  • BootStar

Chris Harrison was obviously joking about Casey. He tweeted virtually the same thing about Ryan Seacrest being “the Bachelor” the day before. Harrison was hosting Ryan’s “Purse Party,” where Casey was the guest performer that day. It was just a joke.

If you’ve watched any interviews with Casey lately he comes across as VERY frustrated that he’s busy doing stuff that isn’t music. He constantly says he’s a “musician,” that’s what he’s been doing every day for the past 10 years, and that’s what he wants to be doing *right now.*

Casey on The Bachelor? That’s about as likely as Adam Lambert landing his own show on Fox News.

Danny’s even better live. If he ever comes near you for a concert date, go see him! Very fun, entertaining show and he consistently sounds great in live performance.
