Carrie Underwood happy to take it slow

“I wanted to come to Australia and become a part of it and let everyone know I’d love to be part of it, ” she told AAP in Sydney.

“So far everybody’s been really welcoming and sweet and whether I make it big here or not I would love to come back and spend some more time.”

Since topping American Idol, Underwood has grown into a superstar back home, surpassing the earnings of original winner Kelly Clarkson and banking a reported $US15 million ($A14.1 million) last year.

Melody Tent show next big step for Siobhan Magnus

HYANNIS — The first time I saw Siobhan Magnus, she was the Cheshire Cat in a Barnstable High School Drama Club production of “Alice in Wonderland.” She was just a sophomore, but her ease on stage, her presence, her talent were astonishing. The next time, she sang in a school talent show. Same thing. Amazing.

After one of those performances — I can’t remember which — I did something I hadn’t done before and haven’t done since. My wife and I sought her out in the school lobby, where the cast was lined up, and, like a couple of unabashed fans, just gushed about how great we thought she was, how she was a star in the making.

‘American Idol’ Vs. ‘Platinum Hit’: Kara DioGuardi Compares

“I was writing [new music] before [‘Idol’] shows. I co-wrote [Cobra Starship’s] ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ before a show, like two hours before! I was like, ‘We gotta bang this out. I got hair and makeup, ‘ ” DioGuardi recalled. “Don’t give your day job up. Always gotta keep the day job.”

“I’m way more myself, ” DioGuardi said. “After nine hours of filming, you start to forget that you’re on a TV show, and then the New York part of me really comes out. I say, ‘Look, man. … Listen, bitch!’ ” she joked.

Eye On Emmy: Glee Star Chris Colfer’s Comedy Kudos Quandary, ‘I Cry In Every Episode!’

TVLINE | Most of your shining moments last season were dramatic. Is it odd competing in a comedy category?
Yeah. It’s funny when I have nominations in best supporting actor in a comedy and I’m never funny. People I’m usually nominated with are all pranksters and jokers, and I am not funny. I cry in every episode.

TVLINE | Any hopes and dreams for Kurt next season?
Absolutely. I’m campaigning madly for one storyline in particular.

TVLINE | Can I have a hint?
No. [Laughs]

TVLINE | Does it involve Blaine?
Yes.

‘Glee’ stars talk season three, the tour & graduation!

There’s no rest for the weary and three members of the very weary “Glee” cast took a moment out of their multi-continent tour last night to hit up The Samsung AT&T Spring Fling — which is where I caught up with Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale and Naya Rivera.

But the trio was endlessly chipper and even more grateful for the show’s success despite being a little exhausted as they celebrated the halfway point of The 2011 Glee Tour! In addition to finding out how they physically make it through, I chatted with each about their thoughts on season two, hopes for season three and learned that graduation is most definitely coming!

‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Choreographer Melanie LaPatin picks her favorites

Okay, first of all, I know, I know, I know this is going to sound like a complete and total cliché, and I apologize in advance. But I actually DO think this looks like it could be the most exciting season of SYTYCD ever. And I’m not just saying that because I always get excited about exquisite dancing, either. The contestants this year are incredibly strong, and on top of that, they have so much personality, they could be doing sitcoms and movies! Am I right? I am, aren’t I?
