Katie Holmes Taping SYTYCD Performance in L.A.

The actress was spotted arriving at a sound stage on the CBS Studio lot — where STYCD airs live each week — this morning.

“They are making it seem like a huge Broadway production,” the source tells Us. “It’s a massive set.”

See how Katie Holmes’ hair has changed over the years.

Holmes — who was also spotted rehearsing at CBS Studios yesterday — “has been working on this for a long time,” the source says. “She is working with the choreographer Tyce Diorio. They want it to seem like she waltzed in and put it together very quickly, but that’s really not the case. This has been a longtime in the making.”

Adam Lambert: ‘This Whole Experience Is Liberating’

Meeting his own American idol.
“I met Madonna and that was pretty wild. Most everybody I’ve met is pretty cool and on the level, but Madonna is just legendary. I was definitely the most starstruck with her. I’ve been a fan of hers since I was a kid. So that’s definitely part of the intimidation factor.”

Rumors that he’s working with Lady Gaga’s producer, RedOne.
“I can say that is true. We have been writing the past couple days and I think we’re going to come out with some amazing tunes. I’m going to have my own sound but I do love Lady Gaga. I’m a huge fan.”

Preparing for his debut album.
“I have been doing a lot of writing, actually. It’s been really exciting. I think something that people can expect from the album is that, lyrically, everything that I’m singing about is true to my life. That’s important to me, its something I can connect to personally. I think this is the album that’s going to be fun and exciting and sexy and also going to have positive hopeful messages.”

Fox announces fall schedule

The net starts with the fall edition of “So You Think You Can Dance” on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m., leading in to the regular series premiere of “Glee” (which was previewed on air in May) at 9 p.m.

Fox originally had announced a two-hour “Dance” on Tuesdays this fall. The show eventually will expand to two hours on the night, starting Oct. 27, a week after the “Hell’s Kitchen” finale.

Paris Torres, Tony Ballissimo dish on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’

Paris Torres doesn’t “begrudge” So You Think You Can Dance’s judges for using the fact that many of the season’s other female finalists are also contemporary dancers as a factor in their decision to eliminate her from the show’s fifth season.

“I knew being through it last year that they are typecasting for the show. They need certain personalities, they need certain ethnicities, they need certain styles of dance,” Torres told reporters during a Friday conference call.

“I am thankful for the opportunity I got on the show,” Bellissimo told reporters during a separate Friday conference call. “I will definitely come back into the dancing field as a better and stronger trained dancer and definitely watch out for my creative ideas; they’re coming. I have a lot more ideas to come.”

‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Predicting who’ll go home is, like, hard!

It has been five days since the Top 20 on this season’s So You Think You Can Dance first strut their stuff, and I gotta say, I’m pretty stoked: Other than couples Asuka & Vitolio, Jonathan & Karla, and Tony & Paris — i.e. last week’s bottom three couples — the rest of the dancers were all effin’ terrific. But I have to admit, I’m also pretty worried, since it’s clear that given the high caliber of dancing this season, figuring out which high-steppers are going home is going to become really hard, really fast, and I’m supposed to be the “expert” on EW.com’s SYTYCD Prediction Challenge. Instead, I’m just 303rd out of 2,196-and-counting players, and although I think that’s in something like the 85th percentile (stat geeks, help me out here with the math), I really ought to be doing better.

Katie Holmes on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Why not?

There are multiple reports surfacing online that Katie Holmes will perform on So You Think You Can Dance in what’s rumored to be a massive movie musical number by regular SYTYCD choreographer Tyce Diorio and featuring several SYTYCD alums. Although no one connected with the Fox series will comment to EW.com about it, judge and exec producer Nigel Lythgoe let slip to some paparazzi that he’s met with Mrs. Tom Cruise, and that the show has something “very, very, very special” in the works. Some are speculating that the plan is for the number to air on the show’s 100th episode in July, while others are wondering why the program would celebrate that milestone with, of all people, Katie Holmes. Can we say random?

According to tweets from this weekend, Adam and Perez went out with a group of friends.

Hmmm…according to several recent articles with quotes from Adam and RedOne themselves, Adam spent the week-end in the studio working on his album.

P.S. There are also Tweets that say that Adam was in DC as well. Are you going believe everything you read on Twitter?

  • TKat

Isn’t it odd that there have been so few reports about who is working on Kris’ album. And even of Kris being in the recording studio.

There is a report that Randy was at the recording studio over the weekend when Adam was there. I sure hope he is not anywhere near Adam’s album.

He talked about it in Parade and it sounds like Nancy Oà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢Dell asked him about it for Access Hollywood as well.

Why does anyone pay any attention to PH? Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a worthless tool.

What do you suggest that Adam does when his is asked questions about his sexuality? Or how he views his role within the Gay community? It can’t last that much longer, and better now than when he’s trying to promote his album.

And nobody pays attention to Perez — but people are interested in Adam.

  • cay

I thought Adam sounded like a total jerk in the parade interview. I hated the Perez comments. Does Adam not realize how much good Perez did for him. He put up the whole 20/20 clip and it has 120,000 views in 3 days.

Sooo stupid to piss Perez off. Adam does come off with a huge ego. I hated the Clay comment too. Even if Clay started it. I realize it’s a gay diva bitchy defensive remarks, but it looks bad. No class Adam. Way to make enemies. You are just starting out.

Reminds me of Bo Bice. Loved him on the show, but he had too much of an ego and turned a lot of people off after Idol. Bummer for me. I just love Cook and Archie’s class. They are so smart and genuinely nice. But they and their music just too boring and mainstream for me. I love Allison, but she’s too young for me. I dislike Kris because I feel he played the poor me/sweet – won’t say a word the whole show so I can win and because talent wise he took the spot of 7 more talented people. Love Adam’s talent, voice and performance more than any other Idol, but beginning not to like him as a person.

He talked about it in Parade and it sounds like Nancy Oà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢Dell asked him about it for Access Hollywood as well.

Do you feel the same way when Kris is asked about his wife? I ask this because Katy comes up in most of his interviews. I’m not interested in hearing about her anymore than I am about Adam’s sexuality, but its part of the game. They are going to be asked about their personal lives. I just don’t see people all up in arms when Katy is brought up for Kris like they do when Adam is asked a question.

Besides, in an entire interview, Adam is only asked ONE question about his sexuality… the rest is about his upcoming album, music, producers he’s working with, writing, etc. Why are you focusing on one question out of like 20???

More CHR stations, such as 101.3 KDWB in Minneapolis and KISS 108 in Boston, have put up Archie’s stripped performances on their web pages. They have added two new videos, those of his onstage banter about twittering and lettuce!

MTV Buzzworthy made mention of Archie’s famous tweet…

Speaking of Twitter, David Archuleta vented his frustrations over those DAMNED CATS keeping him up. I mean REALLY.

It’s also now available on mugs!! Our very own frogcooker designed the mugs. Wow! Nice job, froggie.

Hey, kbr, cool! I loved Micheal’s soul music last year. He said he wouldn’t go that route, which Simon recommended, but I am so glad he has reconsidered. I also hope that MJ understands that Worcester and Hartford are NOT Boston (which is why I couldn’t go to the tour last year ;-) ). But I will pay good money to see MJ anywhere in the Boston area.

I thought Adam sounded like a total jerk in the parade interview. I hated the Perez comments. Does Adam not realize how much good Perez did for him.

First off, Perez ain’t the only publicity game in town. Second of all, anyone who’s willing to take disgusting, vile, egotistical pig down a couple of notches is AWESOME in my book.

I’m SO sick of people kissing that terd’s a$$ to get a mention in his blog. I hope Perez realizes that no one actually likes him for HIM. They all merely tolerate and use him for his blog hits.

    Total word to this!

Do you feel the same way when Kris is asked about his wife? I ask this because Katy comes up in most of his interviews. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not interested in hearing about her anymore than I am about Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s sexuality, but its part of the game. They are going to be asked about their personal lives. I just donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see people all up in arms when Katy is brought up for Kris like they do when Adam is asked a question.

    Yes I do.

  • TKat

I think this is the orginal twitter that turned into Adam being out with Perez. Sounds like they are at the same event:

MDMOLINARI: “Girl’s” night “OUT”!!! Me, Johnny wUjek, ferras, Perez, and A.lambert. Hold on to ur husbands ladies!

Marcus Molinari is a LA based fashion designer (friend of Katy Perry & Adam).

Got the answer. They were all at the same Gay Pride event in Los Angeles on the 14th. This must be what got mixed up with the DC Pride event — the tweet that he was seen at DC Pride.)

    Exactly.

Perez is the most widely read blog worldwide. You don’t have to kiss his butt, but one should be smart enough not to piss him off. And gay people do like Perez. They get his snarky moody crap. So do young people. Not smart Adam. Is he going to start a bitc* fight with everyone. So far we have Perez and his milliion follower, Claymates, Kiss fans. What’s next. He can respond without trying to make a dig himself against them. He comes off as no better than them.

Sorry, just my opinion. I’ve been a huge supporter of Adam’s and still look forward to his music. I don’t hate him, but I do wish he had some filter when some class would be more appropriate.

Hi MJ. Is it possible to make the Parade Magazine full length interview with Adam as one of your headlines. Adam did mention about what to expect in his album towards the end. It’s worth discussing, I guess.

  • unique28v

Lionel Ritchie Interview with SIRIUS radio. Interview Link

Basically, Lionel Ritchie says Danny should have won. He doesn’t think Adam or Kris is the real Idol.

The Finale should have been Danny and Adam with Danny winning. He also says Adam is good, but should just go to broadway. He doesn’t know any “Pop” artists like him.

so basically its a diss on Kris and Adam and kudos for Danny.

Does Ritchie have an album coming out or something??

  • GeminiDolly

Adam doesnt take sh!t from no one. Clay, Gene, Perez, who the heck is next? I think Adam should just chill a bit, dont get so defensive all the time, especially this early in the game.

  • unique28v

OK, so Adam and Perez both going to the same event does NOT equal Adam and Perez hanging out together like buddies.

I guess Adam will be “friends” with all the outed gays now. Next we’ll be reading that he’s dating Neil Patrick Harris.

  • snuffles

Is he going to start a bitc* fight with everyone. So far we have Perez and his milliion follower, Claymates, Kiss fans.

Adam has yet to START anything. He’s merely responded to a littany of mean spirited and hateful comments by the above. And the only reason he IS responding is because people in the media keep bringing it up and asking him what he thinks. And from where I’m sitting, people like Clay and Gene Simmons are talking crap about Adam because they know that it will get their name in the public eye again. So they’re USING Adam anyways. And you expect should sit back and take it?

ETA: Oh, and if you read the comments in the Perez blog, the majority of them are on ADAM’s side.

  • clearone

Well I think it’s refreshing for someone to not sit back and take all the crap. PH deserves to be taken down a notch or two. He has become way too big for his britches. He is not the Queen of the world and it’s darn time that those who follow him figured that out. If it takes another high profile gay person like Adam to do it, I say go for it!

LOL. I think Adam has been REALLY nice considering the crap people have been saying about him personally, his sexuality, etc throughout the last few months. The perez thing is funny. You can even tell by Perez’s response that he’s not made at Adam. Any attention is good for Perez, so basically Adam just fueled his ego. Clay is the one that should have kept his mouth shut when he didn’t even watch the season! And Gene, I dunno any beef with Gene. Adam hasn’t responded to his statements, and I don’t think he will.

“I thought Adam sounded like a total jerk in the parade interview.”

    - That’s what you get when you read something in print. For all we know, Adam might have said this thing on Perez in a joking, smiling manner, just laughing it off. That’s why I was so glad when he came out of the 20/20 interview because you have a visual of what comes off his mouth.

I won’t take what he said about Perez nor Clay so seriously. They have a common bond. They understand each other being on the same team.

  • LaurelG

I thought Adam sounded like a total jerk in the parade interview. I hated the Perez comments. Does Adam not realize how much good Perez did for him. He put up the whole 20/20 clip and it has 120,000 views in 3 days.

Sooo stupid to piss Perez off. Adam does come off with a huge ego.

Funny how people read the same article and come away with different impressions. What I read was how Adam:

    * talked about meeting stars he’s looked up to and respected like Usher and My Chemical Romance, saying it’s “weird” they even know his name;

    * said he was starstruck around Madonna, calling her legendary;

    * said he loves Lady GaGa and is a huge fan;

    * said he’s trying to ignore the “crazy publicity” and focus on tour rehearsals and his album;

    * said he misses his fellow Idols so much because they really bonded;

    * said his first big purchase will be a house.

Nothing here smacks of ego to me, rather he sounds like a guy who’s trying to stay grounded while pinching himself at the same time, marveling at how his life turned around so quickly, i.e. not so long ago living in a studio apartment hoping to get into Teddy’s.

As for Perez, I agree with the “tool” comment. Boy, if anyone has a MASSIVE ego, it’s Perez and in my opinion he’s done Adam no favors, either before or after the Finale. If anything, he’s USED Adam to get hits on his blog, because if you look at all those stories where he criticized Adam for remaining coy before RS came out, the comments from Adam fans were off the charts. I thought Adam’s quotes in this article were a gentle slap, and Perez’s response was a gentle slap right back. They have too many intersecting friends and associates for either of them to want to start a major war. Besides, I happen to think Perez is crushin’ on Adam a wee bit.

  • Tara

well, if they get his(perez) snarky, moody self, they can just get Adams snarky moody self I guess. I say go Adam. He is no doormat.

That Archie is too funny sometimes. What a sweet kid.

Besides, I happen to think Perez is crushinà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ on Adam a wee bit.

  • skylight1219

    I absolutely loathe Perez.

What a nice gesture from Bo Bice.

Is Danny really going to do DWTS? I hope this is a joke. Oh, Smokey, you’ve lost it. Danny Gokey should have won AI? Um, no, just no!

  • Tara

I think Adam will continue to be Adam. The only thing he is willing to give his fans is his music, not his personality. He is going to snark when he feels like it. He is unfiltered by admission. I’m gonna hang on to my hat because I don’t think I have seen the best of Adam Lambert.

  • BestAI

You have to wonder how Adam is taking all this in. Six months ago he was living in a crummy studio, a strugging artist who couldn’t get in the news nor could get a record contract. Now, everyone, but everyone wants to interview him. Every talk show host talks about him. There are articles written about him every day. I’m sure songwriters and producers are clambering to work with him.

I’m surprised his fellow idols aren’t awestruck by Adam now. Adam is the IT guy these days.

  • Sunn

Perez is the most widely read blog worldwide.

Perez is the most widely read blog worldwide.

Not true but his site is #460 in the world and is the biggest gossip site — it’s even ahead of ew.com and most other entertainment sites. (behind people.com).

When was Adam defensive. In every one of these cases, he just made a joke about the criticism. I don’t think he even bothered to respond to Rob Zombie.

And, it seems that Perez got that Adam was joking when he responded earlier today.

On another topic — the person who wrote up the Michael Johns interview accidentally identified the Carly Michael mentions as Carly Simon. lol. Ah, the things that happen when we type and post too fast.

Clay is the only person he responded to, and it was deserving. Clay was pretty nasty. Perez and Adam? Snark all-around. I bet they are both laughing about that, and it makes people talking about them. I’ve never heard Adam saying anything to Gene. Gene is the one always mouthing off about Adam.

Sounds like 19 wants him to go 1 way and he wants to go mainstearm.

  • AC

LOL :lol_tb: to Lionel Ritchie’s comments! He’s the total opposite of what most people are thinking!
    1. I like Kris Allen and I am not Middle America (and neither are a lot of people that I work with that like him too).
    2. Where did Barbara Walters pull out that comment about a lot of people thinking that Danny should have been in the finale. Kris deserved to be there because of his Heartless performance.
    3. Danny over Adam because Adam’s too broadway and won’t fit into the current pop market? I don’t see how Danny fits in!

Anyways, I think the reason that Lionel thinks that Danny should have won is because their styles are very similar. That’s why him saying that Danny would fit into the pop world is him trying to say that he’s still relevant. hehe..

  • jpfan

Danny Gokey will probably wreck his recording career before it begins. And Adam Lambert is starting to come off as a diva in his interviews. It’s probably in good fun but he needs to stay the nice guy and be less defensive and kind of bitchy. It doesn’t matter if Perez deserves it. It’s just smarter to let that stuff go.

Lionel Ritchie likes Danny just like many people liked him. He performed on the finale and probably was impressed with Danny in person. If he said he liked Adam or Kris would it matter if he was relevant in the biz today. And since when does talking about Idol mean you’re relevant anyway?

Although Lionel’s songs get covered alot on Idol. So the show has been very, very good for his bank account.

Here is a danny radio interview today.

Sounds like 19 wants him to go 1 way and he wants to go mainstearm.

I’m not going to listen to the interview, but that could be true. I feel sorry for these kids on stuff like this. One one hand, everyone tells you to follow your heart and stick to your own vision. On the other hand, what if your heart is dead.freaking.wrong. Many an Idol has not listened to good advice then tanked, while others have done everything that was asked of them and were ruined in the process. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

This dude belongs nowhere near the mainstream music scene. Maybe I am wrong, but I don’t think I am. He needs go to his niche and then try to cross over IMO. Just no, Gokster.

  • colette

And shaddup, Lionel Ritchie. Sure you like Danny, because you sang with him on camera and he flattered you. You liked David Cook too, when he did such a swell job on “Hello.” Otherwise, I’m not clear what your qualifications as Talent Scout are…

It’s getting to be around that time that I want some reality: going to the show to see what these people actually sound like live, and hearing their recordings. As a Kris fan, I’m hoping he’s going to blow people away — or it least get more respect from those who are still denying he should have won. But y’know what? If he sounds like crap on disc or live, I’m over him. It’s time for all of them to step up to the plate.

right now we’re dealing with a lot gossip and speculation, which is often irresistable but amounts to very little…….

  • LaurelG

I just hate when the words “diva” and “bitchy” are used in connection with Adam. As I said when Courtney Hazlett from MSNBC wrote her gossipy, unsourced and tabloid piece, they’re loaded terms with homophobic undertones.

  • BestAI

I couldn’t open Danny’s link, but I can imagine how the talks are going with 19. Danny is absolutely clueless about the music industry and even music alone. I bet the management company are scratching their heads hearing Danny for the first time. I bet Allison comes across much better than him.

  • aek

I hope Danny will compromise. I don’t think he can afford to do less.

These idols…sometimes I just don’t think they get how hard it can be in this business. I think that goes for all of them. I know Taylor had an independent streak and they crushed him for it…or at least imo they did.

About Adam, okay, I like Adam and I guess Adam’s got to be who he is. But yeah, I like him a little less as a person since he started doing interviews. I DON”T hate him, mind you. I find him amusing, but he does seem rather full of himself. I think alot of them do as they come off of this show….they are fed such ott praise and they all buy it hook, line, and sinker.

He came across very well in the 20/20 interview, however, as did his mom.

  • sunchick

Gotta love that Adam is always good for a controversial one off in these interviews. This time it’s Paris has a crush. Werk.

I think Lionel Ritchie and Danny might be soulmates. Figuratively speaking. In a Godly way. I mean, who actually made music in the inspirational message song slash soul slash salsa genre? One word: All Night Long. *snerk*

  • breakdown

Why should he? He is entitled to his opinion and he was aked his opinion in the interview. It’s okay if a celeb says who they think should win, as long as it’s the idol you like.

Btw, I think it’s pretty obvious that most people expected an Adam/Danny finale for the most part of the season. Danny screwed himself with Scream On and lost alot of casual fans. Had he not, as he said, “bitten off a song that was bigger than himself” (Danny’s words), imo he would have been in the finale, and I’m not entirely sure that he wouldn’t have won the whole thing.

Of course it’s all water under the bridge, but I’m just saying that there are alot of people out there who think Danny deserved to be in the finale.

  • jpfan

I love how Lionel Ritchie who had a decades long career in music isn’t entitled to an opinion on American Idol while everyone who posts here is. I don’t have to agree with him but why assume ulterior motives or deny him his personal choice. I guess he didn’t give the “right” answer. :)

  • brie200

Why should Lionel shut up exactly? I don’t have to agree with him, but he’s allowed to have a favorite on AI. It’s not the popular favorite obviously, or popular here I should say, but should all Danny fans just be bound and gagged? People would be cheering Lionel on if his comments were in the reverse and pro Kris/Adam and anti Danny.

I have nothing to comment on Adam outside of the claim by a poster that the other Idols should be in awe of Adam! Again I ask why? He’s a guy and a very talented one at that, but let’s wait until he’s actually accomplished something musically before anointing him, shall we?

  • AC

Danny wants to do mainstream music (which he doesn’t seem to really listen to) instead of Christian/gospel music (which he does listen to)? Umm, okay. I’m kinda surprised that he puts it out there that he is talking to 19 right now because usually they would keep mum, especially since a deal might fall through (although he did wish that people pray that the right deal comes his way).

I don’t follow DWTS, but I’d actually watch DWTS if Danny was on. I don’t think I could help myself, lol. I would have to see how he does week to week out of pure curiosity! lol.

  • brie200

Kudos to Adam I guess for being the “it guy” or whatever he is being referred to. But as Idol ended like a month or so ago, I’m holding my awe until we see whether Adam’s media remains on the level it’s been. Yes, everyone is talking about him, but his fifteen minutes are still going on. Which isn’t to say I don’t see him prolonging his stardom, but I’m not sure it’s much an accomplishment to get press everyday in the wake of ending a rather successful AI run. At least wait until some of the glitter fades from this past season.

I also think I’m just using the term “awe” differently. I can’t imagine ever being in awe of someone I’m friends with on a personal level. The implication is that the rest aren’t worthy of standing in Adam’s shadow and that Adam has achieved the utmost in the music business and neither of which are true at this point. I’d rather if the others are going to be in awe it is of Adam actually achieving something in the music biz.

  • butte009

Sounds like 19 wants him to go 1 way and he wants to go mainstearm.

For someone who had never heard of most of the song selections he could pick from during the season why would Danny think he could go mainstream? Does he think Gospel is mainstream? What did he say he wanted to do before…. soul with a Latin flavor? Not exactly mainstream either… Poor guy. He’s not ready to be in the biz, IMHO.

Lionel was great when he was with the Commodores and his early solo career. Not exactly relevant in today’s music though. He can like who he wants. Most of America disagreed with him. Seems like Kradison was the real Top 3 in popularity.

  • brie200

On the DWTS thing, I don’t necessarily believe this will happen and I’m not sure 19 would let it happen if Danny chooses to sign with them (and for the record there are always a billion fake rumors out there of people being on the show, many of which put out there by the producers themselves), but I actually would find it interesting.

DWTS has had reality people, but never anyone from AI and I would be somewhat interested to see how polarizing Danny would come across on that show because that show is one that can make or break you with the public in terms of public image. I actually think it’s a show where personality is way more important than something like AI where you only get a few small snippets of interaction with the public.

FWIW, how is Kradison the real Top 3 in America’s eyes when Danny actually finished third? And many assumed Danny would be in the finals. I honestly think once again this goes back to in the online world Kradison is the real Top 3. In the actual voting world, not so much.

  • AC

You can say most because Adam and Kris got more votes than he did.

Yeah, that’s what I meant by most.. because other than Danny, there were also some that thought Allison or Matt or anyone else should have been in the top 2.

And I agree that Lionel Ritchie is entitled to his opinion. I just wanted to point out why I disagree with them. =)

  • aek

You can say most because Adam and Kris got more votes than he did. However, Lionel is entitled to his opinion.

Well, they got more votes than him on top 3 night. He got more votes than them at least one other night. It just so happened that someone else got less than them on that night. Danny was never in the bottom 3 until he went home.

Danny had a good sized fanbase. This is hearsay on my part, so someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that Kris said Danny received the most fanmail by a good margin.

I agree. I love Allison’s voice. But Allison was in the bottom 3 a good few times in my recollection. Danny was never in the bottom 3 until he went home. So no, I don’t believe that Allison was real top 3 for most people.

Obviously, I like Danny. With that said, he needs to take the deal, if it is indeed being offered. Maybe if he had more knowledge of AI, he’d be aware of all of the great singers who have been passed on. I know he only ever watched the show last year. He needs to take the deal. I kinda want to smack him right now.

I think Ryan indicated that Adam got the most fan mail. There were also pictures circulated that Adam was the only one who had two mail boxes (and they were spilling over) to everyone’s one.

  • BestAI

I do find it interesting that with Adam and Kris being roommates, they became really close. Anoop and Danny were roommates, but Anoop said he wasn’t close to anyone, but he was “friends” with everyone.

  • Kirsten

Heh. Slezak claims to be suffering from Idolnoia. I think he just needs to set up camp with my on the knoll. He can have the site beside me.

Is Kris Allen about to get shafted by the folks at 19?

Is anyone else worried about what’s in store for Kris Allen, or am I trying to squeeze something from a lemon called nothing? And why can’t the company find room in its heart (and its promotional arsenal) for both Adam and Kris, especially when there are plenty of Idol fans (myself included) who’ll be more than happy to shell out cash for both of their debuts (as well as Allison Iraheta’s)?

My answer to the headline question (since I don’t post at EW): Yes. I think they are going to give Kris the bare minimum of courtesy and then bury him. TCO is always TCO. Others need not apply. Jive might put in some effort. They seem to like a challenge. If they succeed, 19 will suddenly love Kris and claim that he was always their favourite.

BTW LOL at Slezak’s url for this post.

  • aek

I do find it interesting that with Adam and Kris being roommates, they became really close. Anoop and Danny were roommates, but Anoop said he wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t close to anyone, but he was à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“friendsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ with everyone.

Anoop has said before that he was closest to Danny and Matt. I believe he once just said Danny. I don’t know why he decided to just spread the love in the interview yesterday, but I suppose it really is because he is actually close with alot of them. Anoop actually says in this video that he is closest to Matt and Danny:

    http://preview3.accesshollywood.com/dish-of-salt-idol-2009-runners-up-talk-tour_video_1109933

I know that it doesn’t really matter. As someone said a while back, this isn’t high school. But it does keep coming up. I guess because we see so much negativity on the Internet about Danny, it’s easy to assume he wasn’t liked by the AI idols, but from everything I can find out, that’s just not the case.

Matt’s interview yesterday…he was asked who he was closest to:

” I think me and Danny are pretty close, which I didn’t see coming, but we are. He’s like my wingman and we just kind of experience everything together. It’s a modern-day bromance! Haha ”

Edit: I misread your comment. You said that he said he wasn’t close to anyone in an interview. I saw one where he said he was just friends with everyone but didn’t say who he was closest to. So sorry, if my above comments don’t completely make sense.

  • aek

My answer to the headline question (since I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t post at EW): Yes. I think they are going to give Kris the bare minimum of courtesy and then bury him. TCO is always TCO. Others need not apply. Jive might put in some effort. They seem to like a challenge.

Well, that will suck if it happens. It will be Taylor and Chris D. all over again. I couldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. I’ve probably said it before and I’ll say it again. I feel like history was totally rewritten when it came to Taylor. He was and is a talented guy, but he will never be taken seriously for the artist that he is.

Then again, maybe Kris won’t be run in the ground, as Taylor was. Perhaps they just won’t give him major support as they will give Adam. I always kind of think that Taylor perhaps got too big for his britches, and he wasn’t the chosen on anyway, so they let him have it. I don’t see Kris having quite the bravado of Taylor, and this will probably work to his benefit.

Then again, maybe they will give Kris equal support. I suppose we will just have to wait and see.

  • jersey

I’m hoping after show buzz does not = record label support. I’m not looking for a celebrity. I’m looking for a musician I can enjoy. Luckily, I don’t think Kris is looking for celebrity either. I THINK he just wants to make a living doing what he loves. Of course, I don’t know him, I could be totally off base.

  • brie200

I think it’s too early to tell yet how Kris will be treated and my gut tells me it’s not a Taylor situation. Why I don’t know. I don’t think AI will bury him.

  • LaurelG

I think this is much ado about nothing.

Granted, I agree that the show’s producers are not exactly above burying their own artists simply because they may not have been their chosen pets.
However, in this case I actually feel like each press release sort of personifies each respective artist: Kris’s is more subdued and low-key, while Adam’s could easily be in all caps, just like most of his performances.

I actually agree with this response from a poster over at EW. I think it’s too soon to tell based on the press releases alone, but I am hopeful Kris will get the full support of his label. History can be a guide but it’s not like there are absolute rules involved here … Taylor and Kris … different people, different strengths.

Q&A with American Idol’s Adam Lambert

SS: Nice. Okay, back to business. You have the American Idol tour coming up. Excited?

AL: I’m super excited. I just left rehearsal a few minutes ago. A little sneak preview: We’re doing a David Bowie medley as a closing part of my set. It’s so fresh. Three different songs. We’re kind of adding very modern touches to them so that they feel relevant, like 2009 interpretations of Bowie. I think people are really going to enjoy that. I’m excited. I’m singing ["Slow Ride"], the duet with Allison on the tour every night. She is awesome, and I love sharing the stage with her. I’m excited to connect with the audiences that didn’t get to come see the show live. There’s something lost in translation between you and the audiences at home through the camera. I’m glad we were able to connect how we did, but nothing compares to how it is live. Live is a whole different world.

I agree with this. They didn’t like him on the show and they didn’t support him on the show. They liked Adam. So why do people think that they are suddenly going to have a change of heart? Just because he won AI? We know that most of the AI audience does not necessarily buy the CDs after idol and TPTB know that. I think all that matters to them is that they have someone from each season be successful for bragging rights. I think that press release says it all. If they really believed in Kris, they would have written something stellar for him. They will give him his 1 million dollar contract because they have to. If he catches, then fine….if not, they will let him go. They are going to put their efforts into Adam.

  • girlygirl

The people at 19 are idiots if they try to bury Kris — because Kris’ sound is VERY current and relevant and he could be very successful if the stupid producers and PR people would actually do their jobs — which is to PROMOTE him, not ignore him. They signed him — you would think they would be invested in actually trying to help him. Wouldn’t that put $$$ in their pockets? Isn’t that what they want?

Seriously, I don’t get it. I know the media is falling all over Adam, but that doesn’t mean he’s the only one who should be promoted by 19.

I may be overreacting a tad…but just look at the two guys’ official websites — Adam’s is updated and must better put together than is Kris’. And 19 hasn’t put out any information on who Kris is working with — or is meeting with, yet there is a ton of stuff on Adam. There’s even been some stuff (although not a lot) on Allison.

And maybe 19 should take into consideration the fact that Kris totally has Adam’s back. In all his interviews he has been totally supportive of his friend and defend him against his attackers.

  • ozarka

I doubt 19 would allow Danny Gokey to go on DWTS. DWTS is on ABC and AI is a FOX network show. Financially, it would be a conflict of interest.

  • unique28v

Exactly Mac, we already know MIchael Slezak and EW just tolerated Adam. LOL Its not such a big surprise to me either.

edit: keep your remarks focused on the subject. dial back the defensiveness

  • colette

They shaft you if you don’t sell well right out of the gate. I’m sure they want to sell as many records from Kris as possible — money is money. And they don’t want people to think AI is lame, even if Simon and whomever didn’t want Kris to win.

But first they gotta get stuff out there. Then comes the reckoning….It’s not a conspiracy! It’s capitalism….

  • unique28v

And 19 hasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t put out any information on who Kris is working with à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ or is meeting with, yet there is a ton of stuff on Adam. Thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s even been some stuff (although not a lot) on Allison.

Remember though, its not 19 that is putting the information out. RedOne for example did an interview with the LA Times. Ferra twittered… The actual writers/producers are leaking the information. 19 can’t control them.

  • unique28v

Also, just one more point before I’m done with this subject. As far as Kris’s website not being updated, blame Jive. I’m sure RCA is updating Adam’s website. Now that they all have their official recording contracts, its up to the recording company to keep them current. Maybe RCA is faster than Jive? I dunno.

Correct me if I’m wrong about the recording companies updating the artists website?

I agree. I think Slezak is reading wayyy to much into a couple of press releases. Also, in the case of Taylor Hicks, TPTB didn’t abandon him until his album failed to sell. Before that, he had as big a promotional push as any Idol has ever had.

The attention Adam is getting right now is NOT directed by 19. The media isn’t going to let a silly thing like Kris’s win get in the way of of their Lambert obsession! LOL. An obsession that’s partly fueled by Adam’s sexual preference…

So, I say the jury is still out on how TPTB are going to treat Kris. I really am very positive about his future as a recording artist.

And if there’s one thing I learned from Kris’s Idol journey, it’s to NEVER EVER underestimate him. He quietly made his way to the top on Idol, and I suspect his post-idol career will proceed in the same way…

Ahh! I wish I copied and pasted this but if you were on Danny’s comcast chat, someone asked him what he thought of Adam being gay but it was skipped over because then the next question came up without it being answered. Now, it’s deleted from the original chat though.. Interesting..

There was another question about the comments him and Sarver made on the myspace video though that Danny did answer though.

Also, I don’t think idol controls what the label decides to do. We’ve seen labels barely push some while really supporting others. To me, a lot of decisions are made once everyone hears the finished songs and makes up their minds as to how marketable the material really is. Right now its all hype until the fall.

  • Kirsten

Also, in the case of Taylor Hicks, TPTB didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t abandon him until his album failed to sell. Before that, he had as big a promotional push as any Idol has ever had.

I don’t know. I still think it’s all kinds of fishy that they shoved Taylor’s picture on the AI back-drop out of the camera frame. I know, people say that it just so happened to happen that year, but every other year, they put the new Idol in the center of the frame. It just seemed like the first inidication that “this guy did not deserve to win”. And auditions happen in the summer long before Taylor even started recording. Then, the rumours about the boot song going to Daughtry started in the very early fall and the press releases and the gum on the picture and stuff. It really felt like 19E was leaning one way long before the albums were finished, let alone flopped. Simon and Nigel would just not shut up about who they thought should have won that year, so it’s all eerily familiar.

I think that Kris will get the standard performance slots of an Idol winner (those bookings are on auto-pilot by now), but I’m not sure that 19 will make any effort other than that.

Jive on the other hand may decide to work their mojo for Kris (get out a single and get him on the Jingle Ball schedules), but even the rumours around the net seem to be implying that they are more interested in Allison than Kris, so we shall see.

They can definitely promote more than one artist at a time, but if there is only one slot, which artist do they push to give it to?

I do agree that Kris seems to be able to capitalize on very little support from TPTB, so it may not matter.

  • Kirsten

BTW I know that the Idol judge auditions don’t typically happen until the fall, but some of the footage they show is actually from the producer rounds from the summer (based on comments by previous auditioners when songs shown were songs they did not sing for the judges, but only the producers), so those backdrops are set in the summer.

  • girlygirl

To those who say it’s the producers/song writers talking about working with Adam, yes that’s true. But there is nothing that says 19 and/or Jive can’t put out their own publicity about this stuff as well. They do have PR people employed at the label and at 19, yes? They don’t seem to be doing their job very well. Just because Kris is a quiet, humble dark horse guy doesn’t mean he couldn’t benefit from a little more of a P.R. push right now.

I love Adam, but I am SO tired of the media acting like he’s the only one who matters. It’s annoying and more than a little disrespectful. Especially since (A) he didn’t win; and (B) none of the contestants have put out any actual music. Now, I’m not blaming Adam — he’s very smart to take advantage of all these media opportunities. But this also has the potential of backfiring on him, on 19/RCA and on the media. I don’t think Adam will end up failing — and I hope certainly hope he becomes mega successful. But it would certainly make the press look like a bunch of idiots if Kris’ debut album turns out to be more successful than Adam’s — which is possible, given that the type of music Kris seems to want to record is very popular right now. Maybe the people at 19 and the record label should hedge their bets a little bit more.

I don’t know. It’s not in 19′s interest to have a winner who fails, so I’m going to take a wait and see attitude here.

Jive on the other hand may decide to work their mojo for Kris (get out a single and get him on the Jingle Ball schedules), but even the rumours around the net seem to be implying that they are more interested in Allison than Kris, so we shall see.

Rumors from fan forums? Yep, we shall see.

And as far as Taylor is concerned, if his record had been a hit, Idol producers would have changed their tune pretty fast, I think. I don’t believe the conspiracy theories that TPTB were out to cut Taylor off at the knees.

And actually, according to the rumors I heard, Taylor might have been doing a pretty good job of that himself, starting with refusing to work on his album while he was on summer tour…

But Taylor didn’t have a marketable sound, so he was kind of doomed to start with. Unlike Kris, who is current and very marketable–I’d compare him more to Daughtry in that way.

  • JulieR

Right. Taylor did get a nice list of talk shows and media exposure when his album dropped. What he never got – a music video to accompany any single from the release. That one still has me scratching my head..

I’m sure Kris will make the talk show rounds and have a nice music video that debuts weeks before his single, as is the norm. Beyond that, only time will tell.

  • cay

Kris also gets to close out the Idol tour. If he does well (like Cook) he’ll get a lot of PR and be mentioned in all the reviews across the nation. He’ll also be he main spokesperson (like Cook) when all the entertainment shows come to film some rehearsals right before the tour. Plus, it only takes one radio hit to get you going. That’s always a crap shoot. He has as good a shot as anyone.

  • girlygirl

In other news, Danny said during his internet chat today that he is doing 4 songs on tour — and one group song — but no duets

I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t have helped.

He didn’t get a single before his album dropped, but neither did Daughtry.

Anyway, it’s not in 19′s interest to promote their runner-up over their winner. It’s much better for the reputation of the show to have a winner who is successful. A successful winner and runner-up is even better. No reason they can’t promote both. Actually, if we’re talking press releases, Simon Fuller has already said he plans to promote both, for whatever that’s worth.

I think that they are both horrible. Kris’ is light orange font on a white background, I did not even try to read anything on it because it is too irritating. Adam’s is not much better. They have this weird photo that doesn’t even look much like him (it looks like they photoshopped him to look like some teenage Twilight character). It has white font on a black background, so it’s still irritating to read but at least you can read it, if you want to. It appears to mainly be teenage girls talking dirty to each other about Adam’s pictures or starting “omg I got my autographed picture today!!!!!” threads. It’s nice for the girls I guess but it’s not very interesting reading. For some reason I always imagine Adam’s brother Neil reading that stuff and just rolling in the floor laughing. I bet he has had a lot of fun teasing Adam since this all started.

But Adam’s site was very poorly designed and implemented, so if Kris’ is even worse (I don’t know, not going to deal with that light orange font), that is truly sad.

Yup! That’s why he’s kind of the stealth/Obama guy in this race (I guess it’s still a race, huh?). Continually under-estimated, always surprising to those ready to write him off.

But to me all this stuff is the sad underbelly of Idol. The dimensions of success are now measured against Carrie Underwood, a gifted but IMO totally bland artist, and Kelly Clarkson, who was almost plowed under herself after putting out “Breakaway,” until it gradually became successful.

I realize the goal of this show is to create “superstars,” but I guess that whole concept just seems emptier and emptier to me. I’ll be thrilled if Kris puts out an album I enjoy listening to again and again, gets booked into good venues, and keeps making records.

And by the way, I think Taylor got in his own way. It wasn’t just his music style, it was some poor choices of his own also. But the certainly hyped the heck out of him right after he won!

  • Kirsten

Rumors from fan forums? Yep, we shall see.

LOL. No. From TWoP and they claim not to be a fan site. It is from some dude who claims to know some insider at Jive and was the first person I saw leak that Allison was going to Jive. But, anybody can be an insider on the net. Jive was quite emphatic in their press release that they wanted Allison no matter what, so I don’t think she will get the KLC treatment.

And as far as Taylor is concerned, if his record had been a hit, Idol producers would have changed their tune pretty fast, I think.

I’m pretty sure that is true. Jennifer Hudson is the textbook case of that. I remember Simon just ragging on her and now he implies he was in her corner all along. I don’t think so. Plus, I do think that after Daughtry got the boot, the show started pimping Taylor during the cmopetition.

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t believe the conspiracy theories that TPTB were out to cut Taylor off at the knees.

I don’t think they were trying to cut him off at the knees either, but I also don’t think they were that interested in going out of their way to help him at that point either. He wasn’t signed to 19M and I think he may have already burned a lot of bridges.

And actually, according to the rumors I heard, Taylor might have been doing a pretty good job of that himself, starting with refusing to work on his album while he was on summer tourà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

Yes, that certainly didn’t help. Reportedly (not from a fan site either) he was quite difficult to work with as well. That album was never going to outsell Daughtry, but I don’t think 19 was totally innocent in Taylor becoming a walking punchline (nor were his fans or Taylor himself completely innocent).

  • jmom376

Thank you MJ for being the voice of reason. I have also been nervous about Kris’s lack of media attention, but I will just sit back and see how things ride out. I plan to support Kris with my wallet and hope that all of his fans are planning on doing the same. I completely trust him to put out a CD that will expose and endear him to fans outside of the AI bubble. I just really hope he gets the support from his record label that he deserves.

It would be nice if they started with fixing his myspace so you can add him as a friend.

I think that they are both horrible.

I agree. The websites are both bad. What is that picture they have of Adam?? It doesn’t even look like him. lol

Yup! Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s why heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s kind of the stealth/Obama guy in this race (I guess ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s still a race, huh?). Continually under-estimated, always surprising to those ready to write him off.

Who is writing Kris off?? I just don’t get it. Everyone knows he won, but its not realistic to think the media, music industry, and people in general aren’t going to have interest in the other contestants. lol

Anyway, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not in 19à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s interest to promote their runner-up over their winner. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s much better for the reputation of the show to have a winner who is successful. A successful winner and runner-up is even better. No reason they canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t promote both.

I completely agree MJ. It would be bad business not to promote Kris, and they’d be stupid not to promote both of them. In the end its all about the green.

Hey! A network gig for Matt! Good for him. The show seems a little strange but whatever. It’s a paycheck! LOL.

    New blog from Archie:

Before I came to Connecticut, I got to spend the night (and just for the night, not even day) in Utah. I couldn’t sleep, and I mentioned the cats on twitter… But I wrote a letter to a friend and put it in the mailbox that night, or I guess morning lol, so I wouldn’t forget to send it before I had to leave to CT. Well funny thing, when I turned the door knob it was locked. You can open it inside but not on the outside. I didn’t have my phone with me, and no one was answering the door. I tried throwing small pebbles at the window but that didn’t work either. So there I was in my PJ’s outside, without shoes, and cold! I ran down the street to keep the blood going and went to a friend’s house, hoping they’d be awake or more responsive than at my place haha. I knocked on the window that I thought was my friend’s room, but I’m guessing that I guessed wrong or he wasn’t awake, or something. I went back to the front and just knocked on the door, and thankfully his dad happened to be awake. So he opens the door and there I am standing in my PJ’s feeling stupid, but I was so glad to go inside somewhere warm! Anyway I eventually got back into the house, and headed to the airport a couple hours later heh.

    more at the link

I think this is the second time I’ve heard him talk about locking himself out of the house. Haha!!

Yeah I think it’s still a race and I still like my tortoise and hare analogy. :)

Mj, I also hope your right! I have no problem with what seems to be lack of media attention right now for Kris, as long as he is promoted properly.

I also agree that that the media is the one seemingly grabbing up the press for Adam, not 19…I don’t think…

    New tweet from Perez:

Someone left a comment on Sharon Leming’s blog, saying that she passed away this afternoon.

Sharon was Josiah’s mom, and she fought a long, grueling battle with cancer. She wrote about it in detail on her blog.

This is so sad. She fought so hard to live.

    ROFL at david…

Looking back at S5, it’s hard to believe that Taylor refused to record his album while on tour. At the time, I think most people believed winning Idol was enough to sell a minimum of a million albums. No problemo. So he was staying true to vision, not rushing out a crap album etc.

But that was before album sales collapsed and Taylor didn’t sell platinum. That said, I still expect Kris to do well. However, it’s never a good thing to have Simon be meh on your win. That’s usually a bad thing.

That worries me about Kris. I think Simon liked Cook and was sort of neutral on Jordin. The only two winners I’ve really heard him diss were Taylor and Kris.

I’ve never followed Josiah, but I’m very sorry to hear this.

    new tweet from DA

“Just did some exercising and running on the treadmill! Woo! Feels good to work out my out-of-shape self once in a while haha.”

seriously david.. im SURE you are in alot better shape then most of us…

    oh david… tweet:

“K, problem with treadmills: it moves the ground for you, and when you get off, your legs don’t want to move forward. Have any of you dealt with this?”

The below are a couple of tweets from someone with the twitter name cr2kyra who lives in Virgina Beach and who claims her brother was on a flight with Kris from ORF (wherever that is) to Chicago. [note: I took the twitter accounts out of these before copying]

    # @ xxxxx not sure who assuming same place as JTimberlake. Radio said why this am…about 1 hour ago from Twitterrific in reply to xxxx

    # @ xxxxx kris was in va beach to record album & he went to The Frey concert last night…about 2 hours ago from Twitterrific in reply to xxxx

    # My bro flew 1st class next to Kris Allen from ORF to Chicago! Lucky.about 7 hours ago from Twitterrific

Now, IF this is true (and I don’t know whether it is), if some local radio station in Virginia is reporting this…is there some reason 19/Jive couldn’t release this information to the public? It doesn’t have to be a big declaration — a short press release would be fine. I don’t think that’s too much to ask, is it?

  • hermy

David flippin cracks me up, lol

  • cookcricket

You know girlygirl, I was just thinking that there is no reason to assume anything but that Kris is working hard on his album. I agree a little info here and there would be nice, though.

Thanks for bringing those tweets here. :)

  • frogcooke

Dont hold your breath for a jive press release.. they already filled their 1 press release per year quota… lol (only slightly joking) But yeah they almost never put out press releases… rofl good luck getting info from jive LOL

  • AC

yeah, they never release anything like this because nothing is ever definite about what is going to be on the album until the album is actually released.

  • Kirsten

Virgina Beach and who claims her brother was on a flight with Kris from ORF (wherever that is) to Chicago.

ORF is the airport code for Norfolk International Airport in Norfolk, Virginia. All airports have three letter codes and you’ll see them encoded on your luggage (e.g. LAX for Los Angeles International Airport and LHR for London Heathrow). So, Kris would have flown from ORF to ORD. LOL.

I agree. I may even go as far as to say even the artists that are tweeting about working w/Adam, shows nothing definite about his final album. Right?

  • Kirsten

I may even go as far as to say even the artists that are tweeting about working w/Adam, shows nothing definite about his final album.

Correct. In the past, there has been a lot of comments about collaborations and such, but they don’t all make the record. And sometimes the label tries out one direction and it doesn’t pan out they way they thought so they change directions. And that was in the days (i.e. before this year) when people were twitting everything they are doing. I have to admit that it is kind of fun though.

It sounds like Adam is having fun and working with some great people, so that’s half the battle (if not more).

girlygirl, not sure what this one was referring to, but I think Justin Timberlake recorded an album in Virginia Beach, at Timbaland’s Mosley studios. Could Kris have been in V.B. to work with Timbaland?

Then on to Chicago, to meet Kanye?? Too much to hope?

  • cookcricket

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kris is too, we’re just not hearing about it. I like the above post, because we can always hope. :)

    Off to bed.

  • vanjess38

I think we should all keep calm about these guys. I know everyone is so anxious about what his/her favourite is going to put out. I am sure they are all working hard to please us. About Kris, we all know he likes to keep himself under the radar till things happen and from what I personally saw on Idol, it really worked for him and I believe he’s going to do great. I don’t think he even wants the press to be following him. About Simon dissing Kris, hell no ! I watched Simon carefully thru’ idol and believe you me, he likes Kris. Simon always played with the with us, if you think he gives bad comments to prevent people from voting for a contestant, you’re wrong. It’s the other way round. Check his reaction when Kris made it to the top 2.

Since we’re talking about collaboration rumors, here’s another one… There is speculation that David A. has been working with Max Gousse. This rumor came about from the fact that Max’s daughter tweeted David, saying that it was nice seeing him for the past two days. Who is Max Gousse, you ask?…

Max Gousse is an accomplished entrepreneur, an influential music industry executive, and a pop music tastemaker. As Executive-Vice President of A&R and New Business Development for Music World Entertainment, he is responsible for producing albums for music superstars Beyonce and Destiny’s Child. In 2007 he supervised the biggest radio airplay and digital download of the year: “Irreplaceable” and the Grammy Award-winning Multi-platinum album “B-Day.” He also worked on the Golden-Globe winner “Dreamgirls.” Upcoming projects include the new Beyonce album and the Cadillac Records Soundtrack.
    Read more about him HERE.

^^ which is also interesting to know he was also working on the pop album while in CA.. We’ll throw this under *plausible* lol got to love rumors LOL Or innocent tweets that can work out into something more..
