I’d be interested in that Sundance-Sabrina album. I liked Sabrina at the start and I started liking Sundance just before he was eliminated.

Any projects on the horizon?

“I did a big Christmas deal with Target. I will be recording that album in July. We go out on the road and do the second leg of the tour in August and September. Then it is on to the next album.”

As an Elliott fan who has not always seen the glass as half full, I am really happy that Elliott is doing so well so far and seems to be on the way to making a decent musical career for himself.

I am a huge Chris fan but the pic of the new Chrace was pretty funny!

I was wondering who is shorter Chris Daughtry or Blake Lewis? I know that Elliott is shorter than both those guys. I have seen them both stand next to Ryan Seacrest and they both appear to be Ryan Seacrest’s height. Standing next to Chris and I am 5ft 4 inches but with my heels I was 5ft 8inches and Chris appeared to be a little taller than me. I think Chris is 5ft 8 or 5ft 9 inches.

At what point in our minds do we stop comparing the past contestants to each other. Taylor, Chris, Kat, and all the other past contestants have moved on with their individual careers. Articles are going to be written about them and things will be said. Do we still continue the comaprison games or is it time to just start treating these guys as individuals and each situation as such..

On other notes, Jennifer H breast seems to grow as her weight increases like most women.

Also, I see what some are saying about Jordin and Blake sharing the same spotlight. I guess AI realizes that they are losing interest with this past season’s crops..

20 things to know about Taylor Hicks

Kristen, I guess they must have gotten a lot of the info from the internet. Most of it were a bit off but was mentioned in the past to some degree. I actuall thought #20 was funny and the real purpose for the list. It’s good to know Taylor is strong willed but not stubborn. He will relent…even while on vacation..LOL

Blake is 5’7″ and I think Chris is about 5’8″. For some reason I think Elliott is 5’6″.

I would be interested in hearing a Sundance record but not so sure about him with Sabrina. I really didn’t like her voice, too screechy for me.

I’m pumped to see the View today. The scoop is that Blake will sing Somewhere only we Know which I love and hoped he’d sing again on AI. It’s the song that got me interested in him. I know Elizabeth is a Blaker girl so should be a good interview also.

Boy, have I missed Constantine. I still say that no other AI contestant has been able to work the camera like he does. Brandon Rogers could have come close, but we’ll never know. Constantine was eliminated too early. I can’t WAIT for his CD this summer! :smiley2_tb:

As for Blake and Jordin on The View, they are both on today, but it is my understanding that they appear separately. Jordin first and then she leaves and then Blake. That’s what I understand from someone who attended the taping.

Jordin and Blake were on The View — first Jordin chatted with them and then sang. Blake came in after Jordin was completely finished and after a commercial. He did the same thing.

RE: Kelly Clarkson’s conflict with Clive Davis and her current woes….

I am a Taylor Hicks fan and I cannot help but dread the implications this has with Taylor’s next album endeavor.

We all know that Clive had a hand in Taylor recording JTFTW and of course know that Taylor had to record Diane Warren’s PLACE I’VE BEEN because of Clive ( Taylor refused to perform that song in his concert tour BTW ).

I can’t help but imagine what the conflict will be like if Taylor records a more individualistic (say, acoustic ) version of his next album…

Little Boy Blue…I am both a Kelly/Taylor fan..love them equally. Clive is a monster and a VERY powerful one! I don’t see how these artists can circumvent him and survive. I just hate this…for both of them! (I KNOW Taylor does not care for Clive…his comments during his concerts when mentioning Clive dripped with sarcasm!)

I think the major thing in Taylor’s favor is that the most favorable comments he got from many reviewers were for his own songs. That could help him a lot. But, just for the record, I’m one of the few obviously who really likes Places I’ve Been!

It’s interesting that a line is being drawn in the sand by Clive on writing your own songs. Wonder why?

Musicians want pay for radio play

Currently, payments from radio airplay are made only to songwriters and music publishers. The United States is the only Western, free-market nation that does not require radio stations to pay artists and labels when they broadcast performances on the radio, according to the organization.

Wait a minute, musicians want to get payed for radio play? I would think the musicians would be willing to pay to get their stuff played – thus the origin of payola. How do they think they can move from payola to getting payed themselves?

I think Kelly needs to book smaller venues. You can’t have marginal reviews and fill stadiums and sports arenas.

I’m sure Taylor career will be fine. What is happening to Kelly seems to happen everytime she drops a new cd. I really don’t like Kelly’s new direction. I changed the channel everytime the single came on and if the rest of the album sounds like the single, it’ll be a huge bomb. Clive Davis is a jerk but maybe on this he’s right. It looks like the album and tour are both heading south. How many people are going to buy a CD to spite Clive Davis? I hated Clive when he passed on Elliott but he made the smart (commercial) moves when he signed Chris and Pickler.

The music business is dying and selling CDs is important so on this one I’m in his corner.

I thought about the song-writing situation with Taylor and Chris. But, I really do believe that Kelly is doing all of this as a publicity stunt. If the cd does get release and does not sell well, she knows the fans will be blaming Clive for not backing it and just may run out and purchase it to teach him a lesson. If it sells well she can take full credit for it as a writer who stood her ground. She is putting herself in a win/win situation for the time being. The problem is if the cd gets shelved all together and Kelly’s desire to continue her rebellion backfires.

Thanks Boulder Soul for the link to the British Talent Show as that made my evening better, quite impressive. Saw Taylor sing at the NBA finals on TV tonight and as a fan I’ll comment that I also like Places I’ve Been and think it would be a hit if released as a single because there are lots of us who like love songs. I also loved Just Once when he sang it on AI. Even soapy love songs are great when sang with soul.

He is brilliant BS – a true diamond in the rough.
