Taylor Hicks working to help storm victims

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – American Idol Taylor Hicks took time on Monday to reach out to tornado survivors. He visited Scott School in Pratt City, which became a hub for help after the storms.

Hicks says he felt compelled to be a part of the recovery efforts.

Justified, Parks and Rec, Thrones Top TCA Nods

With four nods apiece, FX’s Justified, NBC’s Parks and Recreation and HBO’s Game of Thrones led the nominations for the 2011 TCA Awards, presented by the Television Critics Association.

In a surprise move, Glee — which last year was named Program of the Year by the group — was completely shut out.

‘America’s Got Talent’ … And Hardcore Porn

“America’s Got Talent” just accidentally aired an advertisement for hardcore porn — all because some dumbass forgot to clear his or her (but probably his) browser history.

The promo aired during last Wednesday’s episode — and if you freeze the video just right, you can see YouPorn.com show up as the person types in YouTube.com.

According to our computer experts, the only way YouPorn would have shown up was if someone using the computer had visited the site in the past.

Looks like AGT is a fun place to work.

Facebook Loses Nearly 6 Million Users in U.S. in May

Facebook lost nearly 6 million users in the U.S. last month, according to Inside Facebook, a service that tracks the social networking site co-founded by Mark Zuckerberg.

The news comes as Facebook reached 687 million active users at the beginning of June, even though growth has been lower than normal for a second consecutive month. The site added 11.8 million users in May vs. 13.9 million in April.

In the U.S., total active users fell from 155.2 million at the start of May to 149.4 million at the end of the month.
