Danny Gokey Gives Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina Advice

Having been in their shoes not so long ago, the singer says he has some simple, practical advice for the two teenagers. “Not to lose yourself, ” Danny tells The Boot. “A lot of people are throwing themselves at you, but ground yourself. Stop and ask yourself, ‘Who am I apart from music? Who am I apart from the screaming fans?'”

Danny adds that the best way for him to do that has always been to return to his faith. “My religious roots. To me, that’s the key, ” he insists. “I can’t say that is their way of doing it, but if it is, find that peace or even that person who can ground you.”

Chevrolet Set to Drive Into Fox’s ‘X Factor’

General Motors’ deal with Fox’s upcoming talent competition “X Factor” will promote Chevrolet vehicles, the automaker has confirmed, continuing GM’s aggressive push to flank TV’s biggest events with ads and integrations from Chevrolet. Fox and “X Factor” producers are taking pains, however, to make sure the sponsorship isn’t so aggressive that viewers feel caught in the headlights.

Chevrolet will be the official automotive sponsor of the much-anticipated Fox program.

While details of the alliance are still being nailed down, the deal will likely result in various types of Chevrolet vehicles prominently appearing in the course of the season, suggested Keith Hindle, CEO Americas, FremantleMedia Enterprises, one of the program’s producers.

Exclusive Interview: Mike O’Malley Talks About Being A Dad on GLEE and A Writer on SHAMELESS

Mike O’Malley: It’s been really great to be involved with a show that emotionally connects with it’s audience in the way that it does. I recently had an opportunity to go to the ‘Glee‘ live show and just to see in person, not just the phenomenon that ‘Glee‘ is, but really the joy it brings a lot of people. So, to just be a part of that kind of show is something that I think a lot of people who are involved creatively as actors and writers and creative people, directors, people on the crew, they want to feel that the thing they’re working on matters to people.

Nigel Lythgoe on ‘SYTYCD’, ‘X Factor’, Cheryl Cole

Do you think Simon Cowell may have problems with The X Factor USA because US audiences are less used to the pantomime aspect of his shows?
“I can’t really honestly answer that question. All I can say is that they were fully supportive of American Idol this season as you know. Another program on the air called The Voice is looking for singers very successfully. I believe when The X Factor goes on air, America will never have seen such lavish productions. I think it stands every chance of being a huge success because of that. I think it’s the age old thing if a show is really good, people will find it. I hope that’s what will occur with the So You Think You Can Dance final on Saturday night.”

If you were making a new talent show right now, would you give Cheryl Cole a job?
“I’ve never actually seen Cheryl Cole do The X Factor. I’ve never been here when the show’s on. The only thing I know is that she’s very, very beautiful. I met her for the first time in London Airport recently. I thought, ‘Goodness me, she looks beautiful’. I thought she looked stunning. A stunning beauty. A take your breath away beauty. So I’d certainly look at employing her. No question about that.”
