Today’s CMA Music fest events includes an acoustic show featuring Lauren Alaina and Kellie Pickler tonight on the LP Field. They’ll open for Miranda Lambert, Glen Campbell, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, the Zac Brown Band and Brad Paisley. (Via The Lainey Report)

Congratulations to Scotty McCreery who graduates from Garner High School today!  He starts at North Caroline State University in the fall.  It’s been a good two days for Scotty.  He won Breakthrough Video at last night’s CMT Awards (Via News Observer.com)

Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet to present at the Much Music Awards – Glee stars Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet will be presenters at the Much Music Awards airing on June 17. Glee Star Chris Colfer Sells Film to DeNiro Company – Struck by Lightning due out Mid-December – Chris’s self-penned film, “Struck By Lightning” has been sold to Tribeca Films, Robert DeNiro and Jane Rosenthal’s company and is due out mid-December. Chris has written a horror film he hopes to shoot next winter in Louisiana. “We were going to shoot it in August…Then we realized there’s no snow in Louisiana now.” Read more at Showbiz411

More on the America’s Got Talent Tim Poe controversy – Poe attended a golf tournament sponsored by The Defenders of Freedom wearing a fake purple heart and Bronze medal, he admitted in a You Served podcast. Everyone there had (medals and honors),” Poe said about why he lied, “It was just one of those things where you feel out of place and you want to feel like you were part of something.” Defenders of Freedom founder Donna Cranston has spoken out about Poe on the group’s Facebook page. “Since being alerted about Tim Poe last week, we have been unable to substantiate his claims,” Cranston wrote. “We have reached out to him, but have been disappointed that he has been unwilling to talk with us.
