Pia Toscano Talks About Those Stefano Langone Romance Rumors and Who She Wants to Win American Idol – I guess Stefano [Langone] from your season had something to say — Oh, yeah. Can you comment on that? Stefano’s a funny kid. He’s very talented. He should just be talking about his single right now! He was one of my best friends on the show. To see him — no comment really on that. I think that was a little childish of him to put out there, yeah. – Wetpaint

SYTYCD Judge Mary Murphy’s Shocking Cocaine & Sex Scandal – So You Think You Can Dance judge Mary Murphy has been labeled a “desperate, cocaine-fueled nymphomaniac” by one of those closest to her in a new bombshell lawsuit filed on Monday and exclusively obtained by Mary’s long-time manager Michael Sanchez of Axis Management, who repped the reality star from 2006-2010, is suing her for breach of written and oral contract for more than $1 million in unpaid commissions and damages. Sometimes I wonder if Lindsay isn’t a little bipolar, it’s pretty clear she loves the male contestants year in and year out and she’s still the first to complain year after year about the male domination on the singing shows.

  • Anonymous

People can complain about the lack of diversity over the last four years, but still give those four credit for what they’ve done right in order to win.  It’s always confused me why more people don’t do that.  Even Lindsey is guilty of it.

In this case, it’s not just that Phillip is a guy, but some of his performances fit the style of music that she likes.

  • Valentin432

She likes guys that make this kind of music, the girls who do it get brownie points but are never her favorites, so it’s pretty clear that she has a guy bias herself.

At least Shirley doesn’t hide her fangirl tendencies by writing articles complaining about a gender problem that she supports herself.

  • Anonymous

I don’t think that Lindsey hides that she is a fangirl.  More people probably take Shirley seriously as a journalist, or at least they did.  Lindsey is pretty much the epitome of a fangirl.

I didn’t feel bad about supporting Joshua, for me, his talent and consistency out weighed wanting to see a girl win, even though I split my votes between him and Jessica, and kept hoping that she would get back to being the way that she was in the audition and semi final rounds.

  • Kesia Monteith

I just wish there are more diverse critics of Idols. Ones that appreciate all kinds of genres of music. It seems many critics of Idols have little respect for pop and R&B contestants, and are all called cheesy or old-fashioned, and now having a big voice is even a negative. I wish the blogs and critics of Idol who seem more bias to more soft rock/alt rock/semi-country type music would just watch a different show already. LOL

And they are the ones who keep harping on this originality crap, and expect everyone to change it up and reinvent a song, when not everyone can pull that off. Some people are just best singing songs, not always the greatest in writing.

Sorry I’m on a tangent, it’s just everyone expects these contestants to become great music artists in the end, all musically creative and shit, when they are just amateurs entering a difficult field.  Seriously, amateurs! We expect these kids to take these big risks, when all I want to hear is good singing. I’ll see all the artistry when it is time to actually make a good album, like when these kids actually have more than four months to craft quality music, and is not swamped with 12 different people telling them what they should be. Not everyone is Kris Allen or Adam Freaking Lambert. It’s still a Goddamn karaoke competition, and it’s still a reality show. I know it is more than that, but just because one can seem more artistic than the other, doesn’t make them any more special. Jesus…

ETA: Sorry for the tangent. I have enjoyed watching this show in the past, and I may continue for years to come, but I don’t take the mechanics of the show that seriously. I just want a good solid winner to win, and hopefully they will do well. I never have these expectations for these contestants to be so original or great. I just feel it is always too much for the contestants to live up to.

What like been born with a penis or heterosexual or because they kissed their crosses and did an imitation of a country singer?  How will that help anybody?

    Pia wants Jessica to win:

“She’s my little Beyonce. I’ve never heard her sing off-key or
off-pitch. She’s literally spot-on every single week. She looks so

performer. She’s got that style, and that’s so important. She’s got the

And she doesn’t want J-Lo to leave Idol:

“I don’t want my Jennifer Lopez to leave Idol!
I love her. I think she’s so great. She was one of my favorites last
year. She gave so much to me, advice that I take with me every single

It’s not like the show helps any of us fans in any shape or form.  It’s not the Dr. Phil Show, LOL!

The winners have nothing to do with the voting process.  They simply represent the general tastes of the majority who watch Idol. Holding their victory against them marginalizes their accomplishments while on the show. We don’t have to like the winners, but there is no shame in respecting their achievement .

  • Anonymous

how about all 4 of them being talented singers and musicians? Which they all are, even if they aren’t all to my personal taste.

  • Anonymous

Giving them their due probably wouldn’t come from other fangirls, which is why even though Lindsey can recognize what Phillip has done right, she’s never been able to come to terms with the possible reasons why Kris won.

oops…or not. no video allowed at this. it will be made available as a video podcast (on iTunes maybe?) in about a week

So excited!!! I’ll be hosting the Red Carpet for the @AmericanIdol finale on Wednesday for #idol

  • mchcat

The “imitation of a country singer” is just that – a very good country singer

  • Niko Batallones

I’m laughing at Pia’s comments towards Stefano’s comments. I hope I’m not being evil or something, hah. Way to go, girl.

  • julia

even if that were true girlygirl (and I think that is true in Kris’ case), that is NOT why they won.

  • julia

she’s never been able to come to terms with the possible reasons why Kris won.

Oh please.  Lindsey became a kris fangirl, thats what helped her ‘come to terms with possible reasons why kris won’.

The real reason kris won is because he wasn’t adam lambert.  Just like the real reason Lee won is because he had a penis and the real reason Scotty won is because he appealed to conservative country loving christians.

And no, I don’t give a damn that Kris won, only kris allen fans still care about that, but stop pretending these results were anything other than they were.  Last time this show was won on talent was Cooks season.

  • Anonymous

    oops it’s working now :)

  • julia

i’ve seen British geordie men in drag imitate Johnny Cash every bit as convincingly as Scotty.  Does that make them very good country singers too?

  • Anonymous

Oh please.  Lindsey became a kris fangirl, thats what helped her ‘come to terms with possible reasons why kris won’.

She became a fan of his because he was nice to her, but she’s still bitter over his win.  She brought the subject up again in an article a few weeks ago, without giving him credit for actually doing something that would get people to vote for him.  I’m not going to dwell on that.

only kris allen fans still care about that

  • julia

ustream of Kris’ event at the Apple Store in NYC.

Nice of a glambert to provide that stream for you kris fans.  There are quite a few glamberts there too.  If you see a sign saying ‘pastababy loves adam’ don’t get too upset.  She’s not hating on Kris, its just kind of her thing.

He sounds great. Always like kris in those intimate settings!

  • Chris Mason

Not a big fan of Scotty and I’m a huge country music fan.  However, in a market that is very hard to be succesful early without paying your dues in the honky tonks, selling a million plus album is no easy feat.  Give the kid credit for working hard and taking advantage of his opportunity.  All the kids from last season have worked hard and had reasonable success by not resting on the fact they were on the show.

  • indigo

If any one interested, Adam will be performing at Sprigle-Ball

  • Anonymous

I think the majority of Idol alum are very hard working.  I know the ones I follow closest Adam, Casey J. and Haley are really giving their all to try to launch a career.  In Adams case, I don’t know how it is humanly possible to be as busy as he is sometimes.

  • Anonymous

As far as the comments Stefano made about dating Pia – honestly any publicity for those two is good publicity at this point.  They could both use some buzz and the more the better.  Pia should be happy for anything that raises some interest in her boring self.

  • Moria Polonius

If you see a sign saying ‘pastababy loves adam’

Pastababy too? Huh, the fanbase overlap might be bigger than I thought. That could be a reason why the label released Kris’s album right after Adam’s.

  • iani

Despite leaving his record label, David has a busy schedule ahead of him
this spring and summer which includes travel all around the world.

Hope pretty good things to happen to DC this year, he’s a hard working guy, well balanced and really determinate to move on with his life/career. If I recall correctly, he talked in some interviews, while he was touring in fall or right after in December, that he might go touring in EU somewhere/sometime late Jan.-early Febr.(didn’t he say back then that some tour dates to be announced soon?), it never happened with first or second album. Then, in January(?) he twittered that he’s writing with his band-mates (not so a deliberate RCA-decision from MPOV) so, maybe between Nov. and Jan. some decisions were taken and finally DC and RCA decided to part ways and DC to start the new year freely and ready to take his own decisions, just a thought.

  • randi

the tweets between kelly, carrie and jordin are cute.

I agree, but let’s face. Who would you imagine that could invent a romance for self promotion purposes? Hammy Stefano or boring Pia? Pia beautifully dumped him!

I think all these supposed romances of S10 are funny and entertaining. You can’t imagine any real romance with the contestants of S11. Overall, S10 still entertaining us more than S11.

  • too-cool-for-school

Randy will probably predict the winner by saying, “Either Jessica or Phillip gotta have it!”

  • Connie

Daughter’s pics of Kris from the Apple store event

  • Tinawina

I think I love you kesia.

I like the switch-up-a-song types too, but I don’t need them to win every single year, and I don’t want that to come before being an actual good singer. I watch this show because I love all types of singing. I like rock and singer/songwriters, etc… but that is not all I like. I love R&B, I love hip-hop, I love jazz, I like a lot of pop, I even own some country. And some of the rockers I *do* like don’t actually have penises! Heh.

But the way the voting has gone lately, only one slice of my music likes will ever get acknowledged on this show. The rest will be picked apart for never quite measuring up.

Every year lately its like the ante gets upped and every new contestant is expected to embody the best of everyone who came before, unless it is a he who sings rock and plays something, in which case he only has to play an artist on TV and he’ll win it all.

I guess we’ll see Wednesday if Idol is going to keep going down this road indefinitely. :(

  • DavieP

They should say JLO will PERFORM a single with Wisin & Yandel…Shes one of those popstars (see Brit Brit and a host of others) that doesnt sing LIVE.  I was watching part of the Billboard Awards last night before I got bored and just kept thinking how its all about dancing and lip synching.  In the studio, they can do auto tune…why isn’t this another Milli Vanilli scandal.  I don’t think that these singing competition shows like Idol, Voice, X Factor, should permit artists to come in and lip synch…Im surprised more of them don’t have mishaps like Ashlee Simpson did on SNL.  It really insults the audience.

Talk about me being childish.. Mm hmm Ok then #LetsReallyTalkAbout

  • Anonymous

That sure is amazing for Andrew and Ryland to do that for Kris! Makes me love them even more! They all seem to gel together so well. Can’t wait to see them live again!

  • pj

LOL @ Pia.  Calling someone childish because they may have been.  Classy way to not sink to that level. ;-)

Jordin has really blossomed hasn’t she?

  • Anonymous

Yes Stefano, you are childish, and that tweet pretty much proves it.  Not that there was really any doubt.

  • Anonymous

Hmm…Now I’m not one to go gaga over the shipping of Idol contestants, but come on.

Caley is real. That is all. :P Everyone(and I mean EVERYONE)was in love with the idea of their supposed romance last year. Even VFTW got in on it. Which shouldn’t surprise anyone, but still. lol

Agree with the “supposed romances” of AI11 though. No way in hell could I see any of those folks dating each other. I’m still loling at the show’s attempts at “shipping” Skylar and Colton. Especially since both were dating other people at the time.

  • Michael Cunningham

“Thank You Camellia” is at #15 on itunes!

  • judes

Thank your daughter Connie for those great photos of Kris .
Brian Mansfield’s review is very positive.I am glad he has had a change of heart about Kris.

  • too-cool-for-school

“I’m still loling at the show’s attempts at “shipping” Skylar and Colton.”

And I LOL at how honestly NO ONE bought it. Not a single soul. But the show kept pushing the idea, bahaha.

So wait now, were Haley and Stefano ever an item? Or are they? I never really understood if that was true or just a rumor.

  • Anonymous

The love and respect the band has for Kris is really something. It is wonderful that they are with him on this special day.

  • too-cool-for-school

Yay, Haley has a banner on the pop page on iTunes! :D

And woohoo, release day for Haley and Kris! It felt like it took forever to get here. Gooo get those albums, people! You won’t regret it. :)

  • Leandro

    Was Colton dating someone?? lol

  • Anonymous

Yes Stefano talking about it to the press and essentially saying “ooo look at me I nailed that” is very childish and low class. I agree with Pia he should have kept it about his music.

ETA and then to respond to Pia like that just doubly proves it. dude doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut

  • halo9125

Pia responded as tastefully as she could when asked about Stefano’s comments about her. Stefano just proved himself to be the total ass that he always came across as being by responding on Twitter.

For the record- what the hell is wrong with Haley? I was sure that she was much smarter than getting involved with Stefano. Is this an example of “smart women foolish choices”?

  • Anonymous

Maybe Haley just wanted to be able to say she “nailed that” ha ha. (double standard that women aren’t supposed to think/act like that) Stephano is not a bad looking guy but the persona that comes across isn’t very good. Maybe??? he’s different in person??? or maybe not. LOL

  • too-cool-for-school

Not to play devil’s advocate because I agree that what he did was douchey, but Pia has to know what he’s like and his tendency for foot-in-mouth statements.

It’s kind of the risk you take when you get involved with doofuses, no? If there was ever a type that would blab something like that, it’s the Stefano type, lol.

  • Incipit

LJR, great DC interviews, I’ve been trying to keep up – there were a lot of them yesterday! Race is a friend, so The Race Taylor interview for WPLJ NY was a good one (David “wins best dressed”? Cute) – even if the fans did crash his facebook and he had to put the link on Twitter. Heh.

There’s supposed to be another tomorrow on Q104 as well.

  • Anonymous

Yes that’s true, no idea what either of them were thinking, maybe they hooked up early on before he had a chance to show his true colors (early on they don’t really give interviews do they?). Some doofuses are really good at hiding their douchi-ness early on. Ah well live and learn.

Thank you very much for these David interview links! I have much more questions than he gives answers to (I am a journalist and have made tens and tens of musician interviews and would love to do a real long and thorough interview with David!), though. I hope there will be more info on his plans soon.
My heartfelt thanks to you all who post such great links here all the time! It’s great to share fandom at this age with other fans!

DCAIfanHelsinki, I’ve been watching for you! Well, I’ve been watching on the numbers thread – but this will have to do – You were looking for some intel about Indonesia and David Cook’s music – here’s some facts from Jakarta, and a link you can check in the future:

I’m here to update radio plays. So far, based on Twitter
tracking, there are 10 radios all over Indonesia that are playing The
Last Song I’ll Write For You. Some of them still play Hard To Believe,
Fade Into Me, Always Be My Baby, and sometimes TOML. Very rarely for
Light On and/or Come Back To Me, but once I found a Kids Radio playing
    Declaration, how awesome!

If you wanna try to catch it, we have the updated list on our blog:

Madama Radio Makassar and Phoenix FM Bali are the ones that have played The Last Song more often than the others.

Not sure about Haley and Stefano…

I’m not a Stefano fan in any way shape or form so yeah…Would rather not envision her dating him. lol

Not that I’d have a problem with it if she has dated him of course. That’s her choice and is none of my business.

  • Anonymous

    I don’t follow Colton religiously(Yes horrible pun intended. lol)so I’m not sure.

All I know is that whenever the show attempted to ship those two that posters here had mentioned that the two of them were dating other people.

  • pj

I dunno.  Calling someone you dated a “kid” and “childish” seems condescending to me, not tasteful.  Tasteful would have been something like, “Oh, I love him as a friend. I’d rather talk about MY music.”

That being said, I’m not mad at her.  I mean, I like these little feuds.  Maybe it’s all a publicity stunt anyway, like her fauxmance with Ballas.

Stefano sure does come off as a douche, but I don’t know him.  *shrugs*
