Noctem, you are on a tear, and I love it. Word for word, I agree. I think the pimping was OTT from the semis on, and combined with the slipshod way they are producing this year's show, it's my least favorite season without question. I am looking ahead to a Nigel-produced SYTYCD. The previews are jaw-dropping.

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m pretty sure Bill Oà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢Reillyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s social agenda when bringing up Adam wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t positive.

It cracks me up that people think that Bill O'Reilly's segments ever had any chance of derailing Adam. Do you really think O'Reilly's audience watches Idol en masse?

Yeah, I can just see that bulletin posted at FreeRepublic.com-- "All right, guys! Every Tuesday turn on your TV at 8:55 so you can see what numbers to dial from 9 - 11, so we can beat back the media-driven pro-gay agenda! Preferably, vote for one of them white Christian fellas, but anybody will do except that flamer Lambert! And remember, when your fingers start to bleed, just know that you're shedding blood like our Lord and Savior did on behalf of heteros throughout all of human history!"

Whatever-- Adam, is going to win because as I've pointed out in another context, women cast almost all the votes in Idol Nation. And females, in general overall, are more gay-friendly than males. If Adam had to worry about the sports bar contingent power-voting-- they type who want to fight if you accidentally bump into them on your way back to your table-- then he'd have problems. But, they don't power-vote, vote-- or even watch (unless their wives or girlfriends force them to). So, he's a veritable lock.

Aw lydia thanks. I'm not calm all the time. I have my moments too. But living through the season 5 experience does help one get... perspective. LOL.

I share your Doolittle love by the way. That may be the only elimination in the history of idol where I was visibly upset. My hubby thought I was going to break something.

Tinawina, on any AI or fan board, I have ever seen you on, you are always the voice of reason. I guess, I just haven't experienced enough years on the "grassy knoll" to become as Zen as you are.

"Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve been away from the internet for a couple of days and the only AI I caught à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“liveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ was Allisonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s sing out which easily ranks in my top 5-10 Idol moments ever."

I agree. I also think it's significant that Adam never had a "moment" like that. On every occasion he almost nails his song--but never quite does for some reason. Maybe he tries too hard. Or maybe he just doesn't care about what he's singing so long as he can strut his stuff. But it's not enough to look the part and have the chops--a singer needs soul, too. Adam hasn't really fully connected--not in the way Allison just did--though he certainly entertains the crowd. But Allison showed us how it really should be done. Rock is so much more than hitting the right notes with lots of swagger.

Oh they hype the hell out of the front runner almost every year. You can't take that stuff to heart. The person who should worry about it is Adam. Its just going to put more pressure on him to become an intsa-mega star. Anyway, its not a big deal IMO.

I've been away from the internet for a couple of days and the only AI I caught "live" was Allison's sing out which easily ranks in my top 5-10 Idol moments ever. This season of Idol is giving me serious indigestion. Since I've only been an Idol watcher since season 4, and a serious internet follower since last year I like to bracket my opinions in that context, but this season seriously sucks wind!!! I guess I should be happy that my favorites Carrie Underwood and David Cook won their respective seasons, and try to forget that Melinda Doolittle is probably the best singer to ever grace the Idol stage and got screwed. When 2 out of 4 years, your favorite wins, it is pretty easy to ignore the obvious producer and judge manipulations, but WTF is going on this year? I am loving Slezak and MTV. They are certainly at least reinforcing my biased opinions. For all those other Allison fans out there, I feel your pain--she was definitively my Idol this year. I am really sick to death of the Adam Lambert pimping, which makes the Jordin Sparks "OMG she's only 17" pimping seem subtle. I really could care less who wins at this point, but will probably vote for Kris, the only true musician and vocal stylist left, not to mention that he is clearly not TCO.

Adam is this yearà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s hot topic. Last year it was the two Davids. The media is extremely fickle so ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s foolish to take what they have to say about the pop scene too seriously. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll all be forgotten this time next year.

I think this is my first time ever agreeing with you, Huh.

Last year the Idol producers built the whole thing around The two Davids and kept appearances that Archie was in the lead well past the point when Cook took over, to create a come-from-behind arc. This year its a whole different trajectory and its pretty much all about Adam - his frontrunner status has been established very early on.

As far as overflowing superlatives - This year's crop is the hot new thing, it should shock no one that everything else is pushed aside. The real world awaits and everything washes out in the end.

"Seems like last year many folks said David Cook was pretty self aware and played the Idol game very very well. Suddenly we hear that Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the only one with those qualities? Bah - Cook was smart, full of heart and always authentic."

The mediaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s wild about Adam. Finally a gay contender with a half-decent voice. It gives them all kinds of opportunities to push their social agenda.

First of all, Adam isn't the first bi contestant on Idol. Adam is different and exciting. He's not cookie-cutter (thank God!)and he is exciting. Its this combination that makes it possibly for him to win. No contestant has performed and have taken the type of risks that Adam has. He doesn't change himself to accommodate people. In a society where everyone dyes their hair blonde and gets plastic surgery, its refreshing to see someone comfortable in not only who they are, but embraces their talent. Thank goodness he doesn't try to sing like everyone else! Thats part of the problem with the music industry today. Everyone is the same. looks the same, sings the same, dances the same, blah blah blah.

Adam has made it this far in the competition because he doesn't play it safe. He's put in the bottom 3 and comes out with "whole lotta love" the next week. The guy is fearless and its refreshing!

by the way, his voice is not half-decent, its is spectacular!!!

Well, Adam and Allison rock. Kris is crazy cool and likeable. Danny is boring and cheesy. I should put that on twitter, because that sums it up. LOL.

What I wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t give him is credit for being the real thing. The real musician is the t-shirted Kris Allen, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬'though he comes without the light shows and glowing pink staircases. What he sings is from the heart, thoughà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬'which is how the best music is made.

Well, thats certainly your opinion, but Adam is the real thing and extremely authentic. That comes across in all of his interviews and how he interacts with people. Kris and Adam are different, but both talented... just in different ways.

Ryan Seacrest walks down the stairs all the time, but it doesn't have the same effect as Adam. Adam just has charisma and a rare star quality. Put that together with his amazing voice/range and you have an instant star, which is why he is getting the most buzz.

Adam is just as humble and nice as Kris. He just comes in a different package. One is not better or worse than the other.

Comparing Kris (musician) and Adam (performer/vocalist) is like comparing Alicia Keys (musician) with Beyonce ( performer/vocalist). One style isn't better than the other. Both women are extremely talented in different ways.

If you prefer musicians that is your right, but its a shame you can't recognize or at least won't appreciate the other forms of entertainment. Adam deserves to be there just as much as Kris. They have both earned it.
