Will 4th judge for ‘X Factor’ be Paula Abdul?
“The X Factor,” based on Cowell’s hit British show, will debut this fall on Fox. The likely choice of Abdul to be included is an open secret, fueled in part by Cowell’s recent remarks that he would like to work with her again.
On Friday, negotiations with Abdul were continuing, according to a person familiar with the talks who spoke on the condition of anonymity because Fox and the show’s producers had not authorized public comment.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Before “American Idol,” Taylor Hicks paid his dues playing for the regulars at the Open Door Cafe in Crestline Park.

I can see Jacob with a career singing gospel music, but as a pop star? Not so much.”

On ‘Access Hollywood Live’ (weekdays, syndicated), Jennifer Lopez offered her perspective on the elimination of Jacob Lusk from ‘American Idol’ last night. Lopez said Lusk would accomplish “great things” in the future, and she appreciated his composure after being booted from the show.
“With Jacob, I was just, like, ‘We’re going to miss you. You’re a very, very special soul.’ Because it’s not just about him and his singing. It’s about him as a person and I just feel like he’s going to go on to do great things,” said Lopez.
