How will Adam compare to the other 7 winners? He’s the most theatrical, he’s at least as talented as they are, he’s probably going to be a huge success. He’s the first gay winner, the first theatrical flamboyant winner (though Fantasia is kind of a “theatrical urban” singer).

I can’t really compare Adam to David Cook. They’re both superstars in my eyes, both incredibly talented, and they are very different singers and performers.

for the other top 4, I like Kris and Jason both (my heart goes to Jason), Allison and David A both (my heart goes to Allison), and I like Syesha but not Danny.

Last season I liked David Cook, David A, Brooke, Jason, MJ, and could appreciate Carly, Chikezie, and Syesha, oh and I liked Danny Noriega who should have been in the top 10 for sheer personality.

This season I really only like Adam, Allison, and Kris, so this season has been excruciatingly boring to watch, it’s only getting interesting now for me, now that my faves are left.

For me last season was one of the best ever, I love singer/songwriters and I love David Cook.

As opposed to Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“unpredictableà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  yell, yell, yell and yell some more?

Which is why I said “this is a big case of YMMV”. Just saying how Cook’s performances came off to me. Obviously other people thought differently, or he wouldn’t have won. Or maybe that’s just what voters liked. Whatever. To me, Adam’s performances are not just “yell, etc.” at all, but different strokes for me, for you.

I honestly had no idea that many people read Philà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Idol stuff. This is def the biggest response Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve ever seen here to anything he wrote. If heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s smart, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll keep the Adam digs coming. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll bet that will increase traffic to his site about 1000%.

Anything with Adam increases traffic/sales/ratings/ etc. Thats why he’s the center of the show this year! lol

How did Danny surprise? He sang another ballad about loveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ He sang it better than usual, but it was still the same thingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ and then he had the nerve to clap for himself. Oh well. To each their own.

Well, exactly. Both of them did things they had done before… the difference is that Danny did better than he had done before. At this point in the competition, where they have either peaked or they’re close to peak that’s more surprising.

Adam to Fantasiaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’someone with a crazy range and maybe a bit more theatrics.

Fantasia is a performer yes, but she does not have a big range. lol

Danny: For being 28 and “ostensibly” a music director I find him terribly naive, amateurish, clumsy, copy-catty, bombastic, with a very good voice (I do like the gravel) who totally looses me midway through a song.

Syesha: I’ve seen a hundred Syesha’s over the years. Totally unoriginal, very pagentry, no warmth, sings from the outside of herself and never lets me in.

Jason: Coffee club singer with a very good voice. Mellow to a fault.

Kris: Intimate singer with a very emotional voice.

Cook: Very good voice and range, I would have rather seem him pick another genre’ for himself doesn’t measure up to the “rockers” in my life, emotes wonderfully.

Archie: Technically masterful singer, fantastic voice, mature voice with a very immature persona, tries too hard sometimes.

Allison: Technically masterful singer, fantastic voice, mumbles and has diction issues, great stage presence, age not an issue when she gets on stage.

Adam: Can do ultra amazing things with his voice, melodic, love the theatrics.

This week Danny was able to surprise more than Adam.

How did Danny surprise? He sang another ballad about love…… He sang it better than usual, but it was still the same thing…… and then he had the nerve to clap for himself. Oh well. To each their own.

This whole discussion bring back a thought I had yesterday about Adam and the vote splitting issue.

Maybe the reason that a lot of people have other favorites beside Adam is that the feel something missing in Adam.

Has anyone been to Top Idol?! They are reporting the contestants second song for Rock Week will be duets!

Yeah. I saw that. She show is really desperate this year. That, and they are going to pair their final 2 choice together and give them the best song.

Kris should be compared to Cook. (Would you compare Lady Gaga to Cook?)
Both musicians. Cook kills Kris. Kris doesn’t have near the vocal ability or musical ability as Cook. Also, Cook can command a concert and stage.

Danny vs Archie for inspirational stuff. Tie

Syesha and Adam for power house singing. Syesha is fantastic, but Adam was more consistent and put so much into making each week different and trying to make his run on Idol a complete set. Also, like Michael Orland said it is very RARE to find a male singer who can go from chest to head to falsetto seamlessly.

Jason and Allison for their quirky personalities and style. Tie. But Allison is young. Jason did give 2 showstopper performances. Allison stands out more by being one of the few girls.
