But it was as much Rickey fantarding as the (other) Angels, god love him!

But, anywhoà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦. I recall the tension as MUCH, MUCH worse last year, but who knows.

Depends on what blog you went to as to which fan group you felt was à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“mean.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

FWIW, I only quoted someone who used the word, "mean," it was not my word. But, I totally agree the sites differed tremendously, which was my primary point. :-) My words were "fantarding" (Rickey) and "tension" (everywhere!) And I stand by them. LOL YMMV

I'm pretty late in reading Simon's comment about Kris. I guess other people discover the brilliance of Kris after a while because the beauty of Kris is understated. I bet Simon would have said something like he thinks Kris has a chance of winning Idol or something. :)

I'm one of the early ones that saw the it factor in Man In The Mirror. In my books, he went from nobody to someone I would like to hear week to week. My feeling was right and my favorite performances were the ones of Kris.

I still don't get the Danny praise after losing such momentum. And I realized that Simon loves the high performance belters and he had big dreams with Lil Rounds including others like her with those big old voices like Mandisa, LaKisha, Ramiele and etc who just wasn't able to keep up with the competition and disappointed him.

Anyway, read my in-depth analysis of the top 5 here: dcmjlive.wordpress.com

How bout her singing?

The truth is, her singing isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t all that.

Just UGH to the whole deal.

I liked her performance on the show, but when she sang on Larry King it was easy to hear that she was no Celine Dion. If some good things come out of this experience, good for her. There was just too much overkill in the media.

Always nice to hear good things about David Cook and Archie!

True. But you see how much interest there is in Syesha now, and that Jason (who was among the top trenders and itune sales) has a record contract.

Oh, I know. I'm not saying it's not an indicator of future success (or that it is). I'm just saying its not an accurate predictor of votes, which it's not.

True. But you see how much interest there is in Syesha now, and that Jason (who was among the top trenders and itune sales) has a record contract.

So, yes someone else might win the nice little crown. But if I were a contestant, I'd be more interested in creating interest and getting my name out there. After all, even the winner isn't guaranteed success. You have to have people interested enough to check out what music you put out after Idol.

I doubt Adam will win, but he will have the greatest opportunity for success. (depending on the quality of work) Kris can win, have the confetti, and sing 5 sweet songs to close out the concert. Adam still will have most music critics, Simon, and much of the media thinking he was the most talented and deserved to win. He'll actually benefit from the positive press and part of me would love for them to have to deal with another Daughtry situation.

I just have to comment on all these searches. Just because someone is mentioned on a web page, doesn't mean much in terms of voting. It could be a negative mention.

Also, to judge buzz, google trends is better. Keep in mind that buzz also doesn't equal votes. It's just who most people are searching.

http://google.com/trends

It works better if you adjust to the last 30 days. Separate the kids' names by commas (up to four at a time). You'll see a graph of search activity. Adam is ahead, but that doesn't mean he's ahead in votes. It just means people are searching his name.

Like anything else, it's an indicator. However, Syesha scored low on google trends last year and ended up #3. Believe it or not, some people who have access to the interwebs and vote never consider looking up Idol or searching for contestants. And yes, there's that whole digital divide thing that someone brought up earlier.

Depends on what blog you went to as to which fan group you felt was "mean."

OH, so maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention to the hates. Or I forgot or something. Or it was just wishful thinking.

Let's face it, kids: American Idol is a stress reliever for a nation under insane amounts of stress. So better to rail at someone you'll never meet, than your own kids or your pooch, right? I guess...but wouldn't it be great if civility became hip again? I'm just sayin'.....

Anoop Desai 629,000 hmmmmà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦..

Hm, doesn't that disprove the whole "google results = votes" theory right there then?

[Kris] didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t register with me until Grand Ole Opry night. And Simon is still late to the game

Yep, that's the week that did it for me too. So much for not getting invested in this season, lol. I can't imagine why Simon is championing Danny. Maybe he isn't but just resigned to his likely 2nd place finish, like a lot of us are?
