‘American Idol’ Burning Questions: Were the Top 6 Worried Ryan Seacrest Wouldn’t Show? Why Did Phillip Phillips Choose Obscure DMB? – Why didn’t Phillip Phillips choose a better known Dave Matthews song? “Ants Marching,” “The Space Between,” the artist affectionately known only as Dave certainly has had his share of radio hits, so why pick the more obscure “The Stone?” “That’s probably my favorite song by him,” Phillip told THR. “It’s got meaning to me and I’m sure a lot of other people, too.” The irony of singing about stones while suffering from kidney stones was lost on the 21-year-old Georgia native, however. “I didn’t even think about that, it’s funny.” – Read more at the Hollywood Reporter

Carrie Underwood’s Rock Solid Marriage Allowed Her to Break New Ground on “Blown Away” – Carrie Underwood takes a big step forward artistically on her new album, Blown Away, tackling darker topics on songs like the title cut and “Two Black Cadillacs.” She also breaks away with an island feel on the track “One Way Ticket” and shows off her funny side on “Cupid’s Got a Shotgun,” which features a guest appearance from Brad Paisley on guitar. – Read more at ABCNewsRadio

Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo – E! News

All-star season for Dancing with the Stars this fall – The 15th season of Dancing with the Stars will be an all-star season, bringing back past celebrity dancers. Mario Lopez, who came in second during the third season, co-hosted Live! with Kelly yesterday, and at the beginning of the show, revealed the news (accidentally? intentionally?) when they were discussing Gladys Knight’s elimination. – Read more at Reality Blurred

Dancing’s Maks: I’m Taking My Injury Day By Day – First, I want to get you up to speed on my injury. Yes, I had an MRI on Tuesday on my foot. I have a lot of pain in my joints and ankle area. It’s not pleasant and I was hoping that there’s something that I could do to get rid of the pain. My doctor, who’s one of the best foot specialists in the world, warned me that I might not be able to continue if there’s a chance my injury could get worse. Luckily, I got the results back yesterday and he said I could continue, but I have to rest it as much as I can. – Read more at TV Guide

Lindsay Lohan’s Glee “Nightmare”: Show Sources Spill Details of “Disrepectful” Day on Set – “Lindsay was a total nightmare yesterday,” says one (clearly less than thrilled) source on the Glee set. “She was three hours late in the morning, and when she did finally arrive, she just didn’t want to be there. She did not want to work. She had not memorized her lines, and she kept disappearing so no one could find her.”
A highly placed Glee source tell us that Lindsay’s lengthy scene last week went “really great, she was so professional and it looked like everything was going to go so well.” – Read more at EOnline

I hope Carrie is performing on Idol next week! They’ve had back an alum every week and I don’t think one has been announced yet for May 3.

What!? Lindsay Lohan is being an unprofessional mess? So not shocking.

Aww I LOVE the at home interview with Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo. Ken Baker put ’em in the spot about marriage, didn’t he? Haha. They’re so cute together and so in love.

I was listening to Sirius The Broads this morning during their idol recap and they said Carrie was performing on Idol next week.

What!? Lindsay Lohan is being an unprofessional mess? So not shocking.

Lindsay’s history is well known.  Anybody who engages her for a project in spite of it fully deserves whatever problems she causes.  I feel sorry for the Glee cast, though.

PR via CountryMusicIsLove blog confirms Carrie’s scheduled to perform on Idol next Thursday.

Here’s what they’ve got lined up:

4/25 Nightline (already happened last night)
    4/30 GMA interview
    4/30 Live On Letterman (VEVO)
    4/30 Letterman performance
5/1 GMA concert in Times Square
    5/1 iheartradio concert (streaming online)
    5/3 Idol
    5/9 Ellen
    5/10 Jimmy Kimmel Live
    5/15 DWTS
    5/20 Billboard Music Awards

Madred I have a feeling the Jamie O’Neal thing is an error. Carrie’s regular backup singer is named Jamelle (Jamie) so I’d guess the tweeter was talking about her. I’d guess Jamie O’Neal (who I agree is a wonderful singer) is busy running her indie new record label.

Thanks for the article about DavidC in Fresno at Clovis tonight, mj. The time zone difference means it’ll be midnight ET before they go on – but I’m looking forward to the videos and recaps to come.

  • Daytripper73

Thanks for posting the E!News interview with Diana and Ace. I loved getting a little glimpse of them at home. They are so sweet together and so obviously committed for the long haul. Future Mr and Mrs Young, for sure. :) I wish them love and good luck.

While it’s still on topic – Here’s a page with an ABC video from the local KFSN TV in Fresno about DavidC at the Clovis Rodeo last night.

David’s voice sounded super – Kick A$$ show on the stream, with 11 songs from both albums and a cover, but the surprise was the cover, as usual. David often does a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock & Roll” and usually throws in an instrumental snippet of “Whole Lotta Love” at the end, a great chance for the drummer and the lead guitarist to shine. For the first time, he added the vocals to “Whole Lotta Love” and segued directly into “Bar ba Sol”, from DCTR. There is a download of the three together HERE, if anyone wants to hear it.

The new drummer sounds excellent, BTW.

Oh, Ace. Go ahead and put a ring on it.  LOL.  They seem happy.

  • Christine

I would not count on them getting married, Ace does not seem like he wants too.
