I wanted her to take the applause at the end for how well she’d done it. This whole journey is about Gladys learnin’ how to dance, and me dancin’ with a star. – Read more at Entertainment Weekly

Darren Criss: Graduation on Glee Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Goodbye – “[Series boss] Ryan Murphy is a big believer in the idea that high school is a machine where you come in as one person and you exit another,” Criss continued. “This last season is more about growing and learning new things and being a new person and bringing that to the next step in your life. I don’t think it’s a hard-fact farewell per se as it is cathartic change and the beginning of a new chapter. You have every conceivable kind of plot point that could yield those changes between [Finn and Rachel’s] engagement, Quinn’s car accident… so many things that are yielding new life.” – Read more at TV Guide

Does Daughtry know he’s not selling ‘millions’ anymore? Arrogant tool.

I don’t really care to know about Simon’s love life … no thanks.

  • Anonymous

Just read an article about David A.  He does so many behind the scenes things for people that would never be known unless it came from someone else.  He does not have a publicist or someone who follows and reports his every move.  We are continuing to hear of the productive way that David filled his last couple months before leaving yesterday for his mission in Chile.  How he made time for this while he was getting ready for the mission, recording 2 CD’s, doing a mini-series, doing several, music videos, and being a Bench model, I have no idea.  Here is the article.

  • Anonymous

    Simon is disgusting.

  • Trina

Chris didnt say hes currently selling millions, its all in interpretation. Whether you think hes a douche or not, the fact is he HAS sold millions. Not currently selling millions doesnt change the fact that Daughtry has sold something like 8 millions album worldwide and is still viewed as one of AI’s biggest success stories. If Chris feels proud of that I dont blame him.

  • loosegoose

Could Daughtry (the person, not the band) BE any more of a pretentious jerk?

    (thinking…thinking…) NO.

  • JJ123

I absolutely LOVE the song Chris wrote for the Esquire challenge, I already have it stuck in my head for the day haha.  I don’t think he was being arrogant at all, I think he was trying to say that quickly selling millions after coming off of AI doesn’t give you much cred in the rock world but he deals with it and wouldn’t change a thing.  He’s a great guy and I love his voice, always have…always will.

  • Anonymous

I think Chris earned the right to brag if he wants to.

  • Vinny Rock

Calling daughtry a jerk for selling millions of albums? An empty insult… Pretty much everyone who has interacted with him has spoken warmly about him. All he is saying is that he has no problem being a commercial artist — and quite frankly I am glad to hear it. Nothing wrong with selling albums.

  • Anonymous

Nope… he’s the biggest tool shed in music! He only wishes he still sold millions. He should have mentioned he’s getting sued by his former bandmates taking credit for writing those crappy every-song-sounds-the-same songs.

  • Vinny Rock

Sour grapes much? :P No need to hate another artist because your favorites aren’t doing as well commercially… to each his own.

  • Kirsten

Simon Cowell has reportedly been robbed by a woman he had a one-night stand with.

    Keep it classy, Simon.

  • Anonymous

I agree that Daughtry has earned bragging rights.  I’m so tired of hearing every Idol that expresses an opinion or feels good about themselves for their accomplishments called a douche.

  • raya

I read they fell 10% from last week, though it seemed like most was down again (DWTS too).  Still good for NBC and in general, but I would think TPTB have to be concerned about the downward trend going on for several weeks now.  They can’t blame it all on DWTS and I do think they need to re-think before next season.  For all the complaining about Idol’s ratings, at least they seem to have stabilized.  The Voice seems like it’s still in freefall.

  • Anonymous

Hey,Daughtry’s arrogance is solely my opinion on HIM (and what he wrote in the this article) and has absolutely nothing to do with anything else or anyONE else.  To each his own, man.

  • Sassycatz

Police tracked the woman down using security camera footage and she agreed to return his computer, but she kept the money from his wallet,

Excuse me. How does that happen? Someone robs someone and they negotiate with the police regarding what they’ll return? Is this another place where prostitution is legal and the police were just ensuring she got paid? I’m baffled. What a bizarre report.

  • Pam

Here are last night’s ratings from tvbythenumbers.

NBC notched the nightly win with the advertiser coveted adults 18-49, even as The Voice dipped 10% to a season low (and series low for a performance show) 3.6 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 4.0 rating last week.  At 10pm, Smash dropped a tenth to a season/series low 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a season/series low 2.0 rating last week.

Dancing with the Stars slid two tenths to a series low for a performance show 2.8 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 3.0 rating last week.

    NBC The Voice (8-10p) 3.6 9.939
ABC Dancing with the Stars (8-10p) 2.8 16.338

    NBC Smash 1.9 5 5.958

    Carson Explains it All:

“Here’s the motivation behind the new rule: Typically, Monday nights
are performance shows and Tuesday nights are elimination shows. Adam
made a comment last Tuesday night, that it sort of sucks that we’re
seeing these incredibly awesome, emotional performances on Tuesday when
elimination is on the line. The sing-for-your-life performances have
been some of the best performances, and so it got us thinking that the
Monday night show is too safe. [snip] we just noticed that when there was something at
stake, we got the best performances from these people.”

Earth to Carson, come in Carson!

The reason you get better performances on Tuesday is because the artist gets to pick their own song, they don’t have to worry about all the staging and they can just sing…you know, you get to concentrate on just their VOICE.

Maybe you should have “Just pick your own song and sing it the way you want” night instead of all this manipulative crap, you tool.

  • Kirsten

    Carson has another gem:

“You also have to remember that we’re not like other shows. There’s a relationship now between the coaches and the artists who they’re trying to mentor. This isn’t just a black and white issue of who can hold an F sharp longer than the next guy. There’s a lot more at stake here, so don’t underestimate the relationship between coach and artist.”

So, maybe you should change the name of the show from “The Voice” to “Best Friends Forever” or “How I Went on a Singing Show and Sucked Up to My Coach” or “How to Succeed in Business by Being a Younger Version of Your Coach’s Spouse”.

“She was looking for versatility and people who have room to grow, and maybe she just thought with Jesse that what we see is as good as he’s going to get. She can’t coach him anymore, so she’s sending him off into the world.”

Didn’t Blake try that excuse last year? So, only people who aren’t very good yet should show up for this show? Because, if you are really good, you’ll get sent home early because the coach has nothing to teach you. I’m sure that would work well for NFL coaches. “Look, Tom, if that is your name, your a really good quarterback. So good, I have nothing left to teach you, so I’m cutting you and setting you free. ”

Everybody has something left to learn.

I know The Sun is a tabloid similar to the National Enquirer but I don’t know why it thinks people care about Simon Cowell’s sex (not love) life.

Daughtry has sold millions of albums, so he is just stating a fact. He is simply saying he isn’t ashamed of being a commercial artist. I don’t see anything arrogant about that. I’ve never heard anyone in the music business call him a douche. And we don’t know what really went on with his former bandmates, do we?

  • Anonymous

I could  buy Carson’s argument a lot better if the contestants were given better song choices.  For example, why say that you are going to give a rapper a chance, and then the next time that we see him, he’s being told that it’s a singing contest, and he’s given a song where he isn’t allowed to rap.  Or, pretend that you are giving contestants who would be described as niche or different a chance, but then in the battle rounds don’t give them a song that highlights their strengths.

The quick elimination that took place last night is just another example that this show is all about the so called mentors.

  • Anonymous

Nope… he’s the biggest tool shed in music! He only wishes he still sold millions. He should have mentioned he’s getting sued by his former bandmates taking credit for writing those crappy every-song-sounds-the-same songs.

He doesn’t have to wish that he’s sold millions, he has done it.

  • Valentin432

I disagree with Carson, the performances on Monday are as bad as the performances on Tuesday.
Next time they should try to get their 12 best singers on the show and not pitting themselves against each other in battle rounds or having to compete for their “mentors” spots.

  • Anonymous

He is also quite good at what he does.  Daughtry’s self-appraisal seems honest.  He has a good voice and career; I would love to have the same.  He should be proud of himself.

  • Anonymous

” Simon Cowell has reportedly been robbed by a woman he had a one-night stand with.”

Given that Simon’s made it clear that he has practically a life-threatening allergy to real human relationships, I’m thinking this kind of event is likely to be pretty much routine for him for the duration. He should just give the women everything he’s got from the outset of the encounter. He can afford it, and I’m sure they don’t get much else out of it. He’s probably too cheap to hire the really high-end prostitutes.

  • Anonymous

Umma gonna guess there are very few people who would even bother to call the police if a one night stand took a couple of things.  I mean, he may have refused to pay, so absorbed in his own wonderfulness is he, so forfeited some personal articles.

Love that story about David Archuleta and what he did for Ashley.  We hear stories like this all the time from other people.  David does so much Behind The Scenes for others.  Proud of him!! He “Lives His Life Like It’s Golden””
He arrived safely in South America this morning according to his Manager!!
Bittersweet!! Happy for him and a little sad for us. His album Forevermore has been #1 on  for seven days straight in the Phillipines.  Voting by International Fans and also available for download now.  for details.

Whatever member of the production staff gave you your talking points Carson? They just made you look like a tool.

  • iani

That is “what is new in the news from Simon’s camp”, “Simon Cowell has reportedly been robbed by a woman he had a one-night stand with”?! Hopefully is not Melany’s forgotten 5M-deal involved in his love-nights sprees.

  • windmills

Carrie’s fan club just sent out an email saying there’s going to be an online Blown Away listening party next Tuesday night! It’ll be for 2 hours and they’ll play the album twice. That’s in addition to inviting a group of FC members to Nashville this Saturday to hear the album in the studio where Carrie recorded it. They’ve really ramped up the goodies for fan club members.

I’m excited for Carrie doing Live On Letterman, it’ll be nice to have HQ live performances of some more Blown Away songs and some more HQ lives of some of her older songs too.

Also, Carrie tweeted today about buying the new Thousand Foot Krutch album. I wouldn’t mention that except Colton replied saying

@carrieunderwood @officialtfk you like TFK?! We just became best friends;-)

Carrie’s husband is childhood friends with TFK’s lead singer Trevor McNevan and that Trevor was actually instrumental in Carrie and Mike meeting each other. Trevor & Erin often accompany Carrie to Preds home games. So, Colton’s probably going to like Carrie even more when he realizes she can connect him to Trevor and TFK ;)

  • Enough already!

Interesting all the “personal” stories circulating about Simon’s love life, or “how to get a big pay off–become engaged to Simon Cowell.   Guess all the money in the world doesn’t entitle one to happiness ever after.   Of course, Simon’s ever after would appear to be remaining single.    Unfortunately, none of these stories has even a close wow factor!

  • rhed31

David is constantly doing things for others. I wonder how many things he does that we never hear about? Hearing stories about him always motivates me to be a better person.
